We'll delve into what makes this park a preferred choice for many, including its suitability for those unexpected travel challenges.
Lone Star RV Park boasts an excellent location at 5730 I-20 Frontage Rd, Sweetwater, TX 79556, USA. This address places it directly on the frontage road of Interstate 20 (I-20), one of Texas's primary east-west arteries. This direct access to a major interstate is a significant advantage for RV travelers, ensuring easy on and off ramp navigation. For those on long journeys across Texas, minimizing complicated city driving or lengthy detours is highly valued, and Lone Star RV Park delivers on this front.
Sweetwater itself is a city known for its accessibility and serves as a natural stopping point between larger metropolitan areas like Dallas-Fort Worth to the east and El Paso to the west. The park's prime frontage road position means that after a long day of driving, you can quickly and effortlessly pull into your site, making it ideal for overnight stays or a quick refresh.
Beyond its immediate highway access, the location also proved to be exceptionally convenient for unforeseen circumstances. One glowing review highlighted that after a tire blow-out, they were "only a few miles away from this park." This proximity to a major thoroughfare, combined with available spots, makes it a valuable resource for emergency stops and unexpected repairs. The ease of getting a large RV in and out, even under duress, is a testament to its practical location and accessibility. While right next to the highway might suggest potential for noise, reviews also consistently mention a "quiet" environment, suggesting good insulation or site layout that mitigates traffic sounds effectively.

Customer Reviews
Quiet, accommodating, friendly staff, washer, dryer, showers.
We had a tire blow out on our RV and luckily we were only a few miles away from this park. They had a spot available for us last minute and able to accommodate our 31ft trailer. Park host was very friendly and also gave us recommendations for tire repair close by in town. Park was quiet during our stay.
Very nice owners. Easy access from the freeway. We got there late and was able to pay in the morning. Recently remodeled restrooms. The woman's bathroom was very clean, the men's bathroom left much to be desired. The men and women's bathroom are like family bathrooms, three showers two sinks and one toilet in the open. Bring your own toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Big downfall for us was that there were 5 dogs, one being a bit aggressive, from the neighborhood that were there when we got there. Some of the RV residents feed the dogs so the visit often, even though the owner doesn't like them to. Our dog, a very friendly dog, was so scared of the dogs he refused to go out to pee in the morning. We would not stay there again solely due to the dogs.
This place isn’t a “resort” but it’s kept clean & has everything you need. Wi-Fi, showers, restroom (yes - provide your own toilet paper), dumpsters. The managers are probably the main reason I think so highly of this place. They’re honest & personable people. Don’t be shy to text and reserve a spot, they’re laid back and always get back to you in a timely manner. Quiet yet friendly neighbors. If I’m ever back here again, this will be my go to.
Our truck broke down right around the corner from this RV park. We parked late in the afternoon, so the office was closed, but the owner came around for payment in the early evening. She was very kind and asked us just to let her know how long we would need to be there while our truck was fixed. The on site facilities weren’t great, but the full hookups were very nice to have.
