For many RV enthusiasts and travelers across Maryland, finding a reliable and well-equipped RV park is essential for comfortable and enjoyable journeys. Whether you're a full-time RVer, a weekend explorer, or someone needing a convenient stopover, having accurate information about local RV parks is key. The Marylander RV Park, located within the Aberdeen Proving Ground, is a distinctive option for those seeking RV accommodations in our state.
The Marylander RV Park primarily serves specific clientele due to its location on a military installation. It offers a unique set of features and considerations that set it apart from other commercial RV parks. This guide aims to provide a clear, factual, and informative overview for Maryland locals who might be eligible to stay or are curious about this particular RV park. We'll explore its location, the services it offers, unique highlights, and essential contact information to help you plan your visit.
The Marylander RV Park is situated at Atlantic Ct, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, USA. Its location within Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) is a defining characteristic, as access to the park is restricted to authorized personnel. This typically includes active duty military, retired military, DoD civilians, and their sponsored guests. For Maryland residents who fall into these categories, the location offers significant convenience, particularly for those connected to the APG community or nearby military installations.
Aberdeen Proving Ground is a large U.S. Army facility located in Harford County, Maryland. This strategic placement provides a secure and controlled environment for the RV park. While the park itself is within APG, the broader area of Aberdeen offers access to various off-base amenities. Nearby, you'll find grocery stores, dining establishments, retail shops, and other essential services that complement a long-term or short-term stay. The proximity to major thoroughfares like US Route 40 (Pulaski Highway) and Interstate 95 means that even within a secure installation, travelers have relatively easy access to regional attractions and major cities like Baltimore and Philadelphia. This blend of secure, on-base living with convenient access to external services makes The Marylander RV Park a unique and potentially very suitable option for its eligible clientele within Maryland. It's important for prospective visitors to understand and adhere to APG's access requirements before planning their trip to the RV park.
As The Marylander RV Park operates within Aberdeen Proving Ground and is managed by MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation), typical "promotions" in the commercial sense are not often publicly advertised. Instead, the "offers" are inherent in the services and pricing structured for its specific clientele. However, eligible Maryland residents and other visitors should be aware of the following:
To determine any specific pricing structures, long-term stay discounts, or particular benefits, prospective visitors from Maryland should directly contact The Marylander RV Park or APG MWR. It's crucial to confirm eligibility requirements first, as access to this park is limited. The most up-to-date and accurate information regarding rates and availability will come from direct communication.
For eligible Maryland residents and authorized personnel interested in making reservations or inquiring further about The Marylander RV Park, please use the following contact details:
As noted in customer reviews, patience and persistence may be required when attempting to reach MWR for reservations. Utilizing the online reservation system, as advised by staff, and following their specific policy submission procedures is crucial for a successful booking.
For eligible Maryland locals, particularly those with military affiliation, The Marylander RV Park offers a uniquely suitable and advantageous option for RV camping. Its primary benefit lies in its location within Aberdeen Proving Ground. This provides a secure, controlled, and typically quieter environment compared to commercial RV parks outside military installations, which is a significant draw for those seeking peace of mind during their travels or extended stays.
The park's provision of full hook-up sites (electric, water, sewer) ensures a comfortable and convenient experience for RVers, regardless of the duration of their visit. While some users have noted challenges with the reservation process, including the requirement to submit policy documents online and occasional difficulties reaching MWR staff, the fact that an "ICE Complaint" led to prompt resolution suggests that issues, when escalated, can be addressed. This indicates a system that, despite its quirks, ultimately aims to serve its intended clientele. The positive feedback from one user, who explicitly stated they "like The Marylander RV Park better than the other one," underscores a general satisfaction with the facilities once access and reservations are secured.
For military families stationed at or visiting APG, retirees, or DoD civilians residing in Maryland, this RV park offers unparalleled convenience to base facilities like commissaries, exchanges, and medical services, making daily life much simpler. The value proposition for these eligible individuals is clear: a secure, well-equipped place to stay, often at rates more favorable than civilian campgrounds, and with the added benefit of being within a familiar and supportive community environment. While the administrative steps for booking require attention, the overall package makes The Marylander RV Park a highly suitable and beneficial choice for its intended local audience in Maryland.

Attempted to make reservations and was told I need to go online, print and sign their policy and email it to them prior to making reservations. I asked if I could do it there and was told no. So much for supporting those that travel for a night or two. Do they realize we are often in RVs? I have never experienced a dumber policy and have stayed in famcamps coast to coast. Pure silliness.
May 18, 2018 · T3chn0 Trav3l3rGreat place (I like The Marylander RV Park better than the other one). The reason for the 4 stars versus 5 was because, for a few weeks solid, I couldn't reach ONE person at APG MWR to make reservations. It was frustrating and pathetic, and, only after filing an ICE Complaint did I get in touch with anyone. Within 15 minutes of filing the ICE Complaint, I was contacted and was able to make reservations. It shouldn't have to be that way.
Dec 09, 2018 · Chip B.Peaceful here. Not a ton to do here on post, but lots of cute stuff to see in BelAir & Havre de Grace close by. Commissary is nice- beware of hours at the Exchange, they close pretty early on the weekends :)
