I chose their primative camping. It could not have been more peaceful, in a beautiful field with treeline for shade, or large oak in the center with perfect shade. Convenience to restroom and water source if you need it, depends on how much privacy you want and distance between you and the farm/campground. The owners could not have been any more kind and accommodating. The riding was peaceful with no bicycles, atv's, etc.

McCulley Farms is a great place to horse camp whether you’re planning a weekend get away or a months long winter escape. We’ve been coming here in the winter for 5 or 6 years now. This is an actual working farm, not a fancy horse camp. There are quite a few trails available to ride right out of the camp, some that meander along the river. Campsites are mostly pull through with electric and water; some have sewer as well. There are large paddocks and a few covered stalls for your horses. Most of there barns were lost in hurricane Helene, but they are busy rebuilding and will soon have plenty of covered stalls again. Richard and Carol McCulley are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I highly recommend McCully Farms!

Horse camping. Their barns got destroyed in the hurricane, but they are slowly rebuilding and clearing damaged trails. Nice people.
