Our state is blessed with diverse landscapes, from the mountains to the coast, offering countless opportunities for outdoor recreation. In the heart of the Piedmont, Salisbury, NC, is home to a unique and appealing option for those seeking a specific kind of camping experience: Moose Lodge Camping Grounds. This location presents itself as a private, well-maintained haven, particularly attractive to members of the Moose Lodge looking for a serene retreat.
Moose Lodge Camping Grounds stands out not as a public, commercial campground, but rather as an exclusive amenity for its members. This membership-based model often translates to a more close-knit community, a higher level of maintenance, and a generally quieter atmosphere, as noted by enthusiastic members. For North Carolinians who are already part of the Moose Lodge fraternity, or those considering membership for its broader benefits, this camping ground offers a compelling reason to join, providing a dedicated space for relaxation, family gatherings, and enjoying the great outdoors without the crowds often found at public sites.
The appeal of Moose Lodge Camping Grounds lies in its blend of natural beauty and thoughtful amenities. Situated with access to the scenic surroundings of Salisbury, it provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and simply unwinding in a well-kept environment. Reviews highlight its peaceful ambiance and excellent facilities, making it a desirable destination for members and their families looking to create lasting memories in the heart of North Carolina. While a single, concerning review about management conduct surfaced, the overwhelmingly positive feedback emphasizes the quality of the grounds and the experiences had by most visitors.
Moose Lodge Camping Grounds is situated at 6401-6499 Long Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146, USA. This address places it within Rowan County, a region of North Carolina known for its blend of historical significance, agricultural landscapes, and proximity to major waterways. Long Ferry Road is a local thoroughfare that winds through parts of Salisbury, offering a sense of peaceful rurality while remaining accessible.
The geographical context of Salisbury is key to understanding its accessibility. Salisbury is well-connected by major routes, including Interstate 85, making it relatively straightforward to reach from various parts of North Carolina and beyond. While Long Ferry Road itself might suggest a more rural setting outside the immediate city center, its connection to the broader road network ensures convenient travel. For local campers, this means a manageable drive from areas like Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and other surrounding towns in the Piedmont region.
A significant aspect of the location, though not explicitly stated in the reviews, is its likely proximity to or direct access to a body of water, given the mention of a "boat ramp and lighted dock." While the specific lake isn't named in the provided reviews, Long Ferry Road is known to lead towards High Rock Lake, North Carolina’s second-largest lake. This proximity to a major lake enhances the appeal of the camping grounds, providing excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and various water sports, which are highly popular recreational activities in North Carolina. The presence of these aquatic amenities directly on-site (or very nearby) is a substantial benefit, allowing members to fully enjoy the lake experience without extensive travel. The view from the grounds is described as "very relaxing," further hinting at a scenic, natural setting.

While these positive features are prominent, it is important to acknowledge a review mentioning "park manager snapping at members... Extremely unprofessional." As a membership-based facility, Moose Lodge Camping Grounds typically does not advertise public promotions or special offers in the same way a commercial campground might. Its primary "offer" is the exclusive access and amenities provided to its members.
However, the "promotions" would be tied directly to Moose Lodge membership itself. For individuals considering joining the Moose Lodge, the availability of these well-maintained camping grounds could be a significant incentive. Membership often comes with various benefits, and access to this private camping facility would be one of them.
Prospective members or current members interested in specific rates, booking policies, or any member-exclusive events at the camping grounds should inquire directly. It is unlikely that there would be widely advertised public discounts or seasonal promotions for non-members. The value is intrinsically linked to the Moose Lodge membership.
Any "special offers" would likely be in the form of:
-
Member Rates: Preferential pricing for camping sites, if applicable, would be offered exclusively to members.
-
Event-Specific Pricing: For Lodge-organized events or gatherings held at the grounds, there might be specific packages or pricing.
-
Membership Incentives: The Moose Lodge organization itself might offer incentives for new members, and the camping grounds access would be part of that overall membership value proposition.
Given the private nature, the best way to understand the full scope of benefits and any specific "offers" related to camping at Moose Lodge Camping Grounds is to contact the local Moose Lodge chapter or the camping grounds directly for membership information and access policies.

Furthermore, the on-site amenities make it particularly suitable for families. The "playground" provides a safe and engaging area for children, while the "boat ramp and lighted dock" are invaluable for those who enjoy water activities on the likely nearby High Rock Lake. This allows local families to enjoy boating, fishing, and lakeside relaxation without needing to travel far or deal with public access points. The covered picnic area with ice and soda machines adds practical convenience for family gatherings and meals outdoors.
While one review mentioned a concern regarding a park manager's demeanor, it's balanced by overall positive sentiments about the staff and the general atmosphere. For new residents to the area, or existing local business owners considering bringing family, employees, or associates, the private "member only" aspect creates a unique opportunity for exclusive access to a well-regarded local amenity. This can foster a sense of belonging and provide a reliable, high-quality outdoor space for various gatherings.

Customer Reviews
The grounds were great I was a Guest there and really had considered buy memberships for my entire family. Until I heard park manager snapping at members in front of others. Extremely unprofessional of her. It seemed to be like routine I watched her go towards atleast 3 different members and screaming at them from a distance. One poor guy was in his boat with a small child and another adult. Spencer NC Is not really a big community and everyone seems to know everyone else. I myself am new to the area and a local business Owner. Just looking for a place to bring my grandchildren and adult children and maybe a business associate from time to time. And possibly even my employees who raved about this great area that was a member only. Not too sure if I will bring my grandchildren back there. I try to keep negativity out of their lives.
So wonderful out here. Nice and quiet. Delores is very nice. They have a playground. Shower house. There is a pop (soda) machine and ice machine under the large covered picnic area. Looks like three horseshoe pits. There is a boat ramp and lighted dock. This is very well-maintained. The view is very relaxing. We love it.
Had lots of fun at the Lake with the Moose for Labor Day!!! Music, food, cake walk...was so much fun. I loved it 😍 !!!!
What a great little place too spend time out on the lake. There are bathrooms and showers and a shelter. There are plenty of places to put a tent and park your RV. We also went there for the 4th of July and had a fantastic time watching a surprisingly great fireworks display. Down to earth people just trying to have a good time.
Nice since they got someone new to take care of the place, not somewhere to go for spur of the moment camping due to renting camper spaces for the year now
