Valley View Campgrounds About

For many Ohioans, the vibrant energy of a live music festival, combined with the camaraderie of a camping experience, creates unforgettable memories. Valley View Campgrounds in Belmont, Ohio, stands out as a unique destination, not just as a place to pitch a tent or park an RV, but as the host site for the popular Blame My Roots Country Music Festival. This distinct identity shapes the campground's offerings and atmosphere, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a lively outdoor experience. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Valley View Campgrounds, offering valuable insights for local Ohioans looking to combine their love for music and the outdoors.

Valley View Campgrounds is more than just a typical campground; it's a dedicated event venue that transforms to accommodate thousands of music fans during peak festival times. This dual nature means that while it provides camping facilities, its primary function, particularly as highlighted by customer reviews, is to support large-scale events like the Blame My Roots Country Music Festival. This is a crucial distinction for prospective campers: if you're visiting during a festival, expect a lively, bustling environment with rules tailored to event management. If you're considering it outside of event times (though the provided reviews heavily lean towards the festival experience), the atmosphere and available services might differ.

Customer feedback paints a picture of a vibrant festival experience. Reviewers praised the "awesome" Blame My Roots Country Musical Festival, highlighting the "incredible" lineup, "loud enough" music, and "on point" food trucks. The quick action of security during crowd incidents and the cleanliness of bathrooms were also noted positively, indicating a focus on attendee experience and safety during large events. These aspects are critical for a successful festival, and Valley View Campgrounds appears to facilitate them effectively.

However, the event-centric nature also brings specific rules that might differ from a typical state park campground. A key point of contention for some festival-goers was the strict policy on bringing in outside beverages and the inability to re-enter the festival grounds once exited. These rules, while common at many large festivals for security and revenue purposes, can be a departure from the more relaxed environment of traditional camping. Understanding these rules beforehand is essential for a positive experience. For Ohioans who love music festivals and are prepared for a dynamic, event-driven camping environment, Valley View Campgrounds offers a unique blend of outdoor accommodation and live entertainment.

Location and Accessibility

Valley View Campgrounds is situated at 43263 National Rd, Belmont, OH 43718, USA. This address places the campground in Belmont, a village in Belmont County, located in the eastern part of Ohio, close to the West Virginia border. The region is known for its rolling hills and proximity to the Ohio River.

Accessibility to Valley View Campgrounds is relatively straightforward, primarily via major roadways. National Road (also known as US Route 40) is a significant historic east-west highway that runs directly through Belmont. This direct access makes the campground highly convenient for Ohioans traveling from various parts of the state, as well as from neighboring West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Cities like Zanesville and Cambridge are within a reasonable driving distance to the west, while Wheeling, West Virginia, is a short drive to the east.

The location on National Road likely means easy ingress and egress for vehicles, including RVs, during non-festival times. However, during major events like the Blame My Roots Country Music Festival, visitors should anticipate increased traffic and potentially specific entry/exit procedures to manage the large crowds. The rural setting of Belmont County offers a scenic drive and a peaceful backdrop outside of high-traffic event days. For Ohioans seeking a campground that is both easy to reach and serves as a hub for major events, Valley View Campgrounds' location is a key advantage.

Services Offered

Valley View Campgrounds, particularly in its role as a music festival venue, offers services tailored to accommodating a large volume of campers during events, alongside standard campground amenities. Based on customer reviews and typical festival campground operations, the following services are generally provided:

  • Campsites: The core offering is designated camping spaces for tents and potentially RVs. While specific types aren't detailed, the mention of "camping" implies traditional tent sites.
  • Restroom Facilities: Cleanliness of bathrooms was positively noted during a festival, indicating the presence of communal restroom facilities, likely including portable toilets (Porta Jons) and possibly permanent or temporary shower/cooling stations.
  • Food Vendors: During events like the Blame My Roots festival, the campground hosts "food trucks" that are "on point," providing a variety of dining options for attendees.
  • Security: Reviews highlight that "Security acted swiftly when people started fighting in the crowd," indicating a dedicated security presence to manage crowd behavior and ensure safety, especially during large events.
  • Trash Management: While not explicitly detailed, large events require robust trash disposal systems, likely including numerous dumpsters or collection points. Campers are generally expected to use provided trash bags.
  • Festival Infrastructure: During events, this would include stages, sound systems, and designated viewing areas to facilitate the musical performances.
  • Limited Vehicle Movement: A review mentioned restrictions on coming out and going back in (likely referring to the festival grounds, not the campground itself). This implies controlled entry/exit points during events.

It is important to note that the extent and availability of these services might vary significantly between a major festival period and a typical camping season (if the campground operates outside of festival dates for general camping). For general camping, amenities might be more basic, focusing on traditional campground provisions.

Features / Highlights

Valley View Campgrounds, particularly in its capacity as a host for major events like the Blame My Roots Country Music Festival, offers several distinct features and highlights that make it a notable destination for Ohioans.

  • Host of Blame My Roots Country Music Festival: This is the paramount highlight. The campground serves as the venue for a significant country music festival, attracting top-tier lineups and providing a unique "concert camping" experience for music enthusiasts.
  • Vibrant Festival Atmosphere: During events, the campground transforms into a lively, energetic hub. For those who enjoy a bustling, social environment with live music as the backdrop, this is a major draw.
  • Concert-Ready Infrastructure: The ability to host large-scale music events implies robust infrastructure for stages, sound, and lighting, ensuring a high-quality concert experience for attendees.
  • Effective Security Presence: Positive feedback regarding security's swift action during crowd issues indicates a well-managed and safe environment during potentially high-energy events.
  • On-Site Food and Beverage Options: The presence of "on point" food trucks offers convenient and diverse dining choices, eliminating the need to leave the venue for meals during festivals.
  • Clean Restroom Facilities (Festival-time): The mention of clean bathrooms during a festival is a significant positive, as this can often be a concern at large outdoor events.
  • Unique Hybrid Experience: Valley View offers a blend of camping and live entertainment that is not commonly found at traditional campgrounds, appealing to a specific niche of Ohioans.

While the reviews also touch on strict rules regarding outside beverages and re-entry during festivals, these are typical for event venues and define part of the overall experience. For Ohioans prioritizing a dynamic, music-filled camping adventure, these features collectively make Valley View Campgrounds a compelling choice.

Promotions or Special Offers

Valley View Campgrounds, primarily known for hosting large-scale events like the Blame My Roots Country Music Festival, likely frames its "promotions" or "special offers" around event packages rather than typical campground discounts. Since the provided information focuses on the festival experience, any special offers would generally be tied to festival attendance.

  • Festival Ticket & Camping Packages: The most common "promotion" would be a bundled ticket that includes both entry to the music festival and access to camping at Valley View Campgrounds. These packages often represent a convenient and potentially cost-saving way to experience the event.
  • Early Bird Pricing for Festival Tickets: Music festivals frequently offer tiered pricing, with lower "early bird" rates for tickets and camping passes purchased well in advance of the event. This encourages early commitment and serves as a significant discount for proactive attendees.
  • Multi-Day Pass Savings: Festival camping is typically tied to multi-day festival passes, which are often more economical per day than single-day tickets.
  • "Super Sites" or Premium Camping Upgrades: While not a discount, the availability of "Super Sites" or upgraded camping options (if offered for the festival) can be seen as a premium "offer" for those seeking more amenities (e.g., dedicated electric, water, or preferred locations) during the event. These often come at a higher price point but offer enhanced convenience.

It's important for Ohioans to note that any specific promotions or offers related to the Blame My Roots Country Music Festival or other events at Valley View Campgrounds would be advertised directly through the festival's official website, social media channels, or ticketing partners. For general camping outside of major events (if available), any promotions would be communicated directly by the campground management. Blame My Roots Country Musical Festival was awesome. First time going and it was smaller than other music festivals I have been to but it was just an overall great experience- Security acted swiftly when people started fighting in the crowd. Bathrooms were clean. The music was loud enough and the lineup was incredible! Food trucks were on point also!

I had agood time but the rules are way different than jambo. Prob going to the other country venue next year. Thats the consensus of our whole crew. If we have to buy their beer we will go where we can still take in our own. The fact you cant come out and go back in is senseless. I doubt many people go backnext year.
