Promotions or Special Offers

Dan Nicholas Park Campground, being part of a county park system, tends to focus on consistent, affordable pricing rather than frequent promotional "offers" in the traditional sense. However, the inherent value derived from its direct access to the vast array of park attractions effectively acts as a continuous "special offer" for campers.

The park itself offers many activities at very low costs (some even free), meaning your camping fee provides entry to a huge amount of entertainment and recreation without significant additional expense. While specific seasonal discounts are not widely advertised, it's always advisable for prospective campers to contact the campground directly to inquire about current rates, potential off-peak savings, or any packages that might be available. They do have a two-night minimum for weekend reservations, and payment in full is required to hold reservations. While refunds are not issued, rain checks are available if notified 4 days prior to the reservation date, valid for one year. This flexibility can be a valuable "offer" for those planning their trips. For the most precise information on fees and any current specials, direct communication with the campground staff is recommended.

We had a nice time at the camp, the only thing I didn’t like was that they don’t have tent pads so you end up putting your tent directly on the ground and that dirt dust gets everywhere. Showers were very private, each with their own door which is nice.

Absolutely wonderful experience!!! I had site 77. The staff are all very nice and respectful! Was able to check in early to beat the rain and get set up without any problems. The entire area is clean and very well maintained. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. I really needed a getaway, and this place did not disappoint!!! Will definitely be coming back in the spring! Nice campground. Plenty to do with the lake, barnyard, gem mine, train, etc. Restrooms were decent. Toilet paper was TERRIBLE, probably needed like 5 pieces for any thickness. Like must be .0000001 ply lol. There was a squirrel that was very brazen and skilled at stealing food. Park was nice, office was fine. Good spacing between sites.

Super impressed with this county park! We stayed for the weekend while passing through from out of state and didn’t fully realize what the park had to offer until we arrived. From the peaceful campground, the wildlife park, to the barnyard, and more, there was plenty to do and see without going anywhere. A super clean, well kept, and beautiful park and campground. I highly recommend! Only $35 per night!

We stayed at this campground for a week and I'm not quite sure why it gets so many bad reviews. We camp often and have been many places and this campground is by far one of our top stays. We read many reviews about poor bathrooms, poor cell signal, poor service, but we have experienced none of it. First off the bathrooms are not great but not terrible either. They are old and dated but clean. We have seen many others that were way worse, so it's not as bad as the reviews say. Yes cell signal is nonexistent here. That includes the attraction side of the park too. There is wifi and it's coverage isn't perfect but works well enough. We never had a problem. In fact I'm writing this review on their wifi. We also didn't have any problems with staff, in fact they were all really helpful and polite. As far as the campground itself goes it's pretty nice. Sites have plenty of space between them and were well kept and clean. I saw the staff cleaning out fire pits after each guest left and saw them cleaning the restrooms each day. It's also a short walk to the other side of the lake where all the attractions are. There's lots of stuff for the kids to do and it's really pretty cheap too. Again I have to say it's one of our top places we have stayed at. We will probably come back again.
