North Karick Lake Recreation Area, being part of the Florida State Forests, generally operates with fixed, affordable rates rather than frequent, complex promotional offers. Its primary "promotion" is its excellent value and the natural beauty it provides at a reasonable cost.
- Affordable Daily Rate: The cost per RV/tent site is typically around $15 per night, which is exceptionally low for a site with electricity and water hookups in Florida.
- First-Come, First-Served Basis: Most sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning there aren't traditional booking discounts, but rather consistent affordability.
- Primitive Group Camping Area: There is a primitive group campground site available, but this must be reserved before arrival, potentially offering a different rate or specific booking requirements.
While there aren't rotating "sales," the consistent low price and the quality of amenities make it a continuous value proposition for campers. Customer Reviews
We stayed 3 nights at the North Karick Lake campgrounds and really enjoyed our time there. There are a total of 16 sites, one of which is the camp Host site. Due to Covid-19, there were limited spaces available. We were only 1 of 3 or 4 other campers there and they had us all spaced way out. We stayed at site 12 which backs up to the bathrooms but still had a lake view in the distance. Just note that if you choose site 12 or 13 near the bathrooms you will have to put up with the light that can be annoying if you want pure darkness while tent camping like us. The facilities were well maintained with separate bathrooms and showers for men and women. There was hot water and the showers had great water pressure. We had access to both a 30 amp power box and water at our site. It was very peaceful! The Karick Lake Loop Trail around the lake was also enjoyable to hike. We were able to find plenty of sticks every night to get some great campfires going. We would absolutely stay again!
My son came for a visit, and we took him fishing. We didn't really catch much, but we did have a good time. It was quiet and clean. Wouldn't mind doing a camping trip there one day
Spent 3 nights here. We were tent camping, so the 4th night we scheduled (hope we can get a refund for it) we had to pack up and go to Hometown Inn and Suites (will review with less stars) due to incoming storms. Our site was on the lake and it is a beautiful place. Bob, the campground host, was very nice and helpful. The bath house/restroom was nice and clean, with magazines provided. The advertised 3.8 mile trail was not a hard walk, but it was approximately 1.4 miles longer, unless we did something wrong. I am not sure how we did. The dumpster at this site is in a ridiculous place, but not enough issues for it to lose a star or two. The squirrels here are pretty gangster tho. They may or may not have stolen trash, food, my shorts and ripped the screen on my tent. Nothing has been confirmed, other than the missing food and trash. One of these little beasts stole the chex mix and sat on the table and taunted us. Then one tried to take my bag of coffee, we won that round, nobody takes my coffee. Watch out for the gangster squad of squirrels and you will have a great time.
Beautiful lake side camping. The hiking trail is just under 4 miles to complete circle the lake. Each campsite has a firepit with a cooking grate on it. Bring charcoal or tools to gatther firewood from down trees. Boat ramp for electric motors only.
Great place to go with the kids or to just go fishing or camping we’re local an I take my son fish a lot there and it’s fantastic wait till evening time around the docks and you can catch a lot 👍
