Ogden Park About
For many Georgians, the dream of homeownership or finding a stable, comfortable long-term rental solution often leads to exploring various housing options. In this quest, mobile home parks have emerged as a practical and often more affordable alternative to traditional single-family homes or apartment complexes. These communities typically offer residents a blend of privacy with individual lots, combined with a sense of community fostered by shared spaces and neighborhood connections.
Mobile home parks have evolved significantly, moving away from past perceptions to become well-managed, clean, and welcoming environments. They provide a unique lifestyle that often appeals to those seeking a balance between independence and community living, all within a more accessible price point.
Today, we turn our attention to Ogden Park, a mobile home community located in Allenhurst, Georgia. This park has drawn attention for its resident-friendly atmosphere. While it's important to consider all aspects of a community, reviews highlight a positive social environment. This article will provide an informative and engaging overview of Ogden Park, shedding light on its location, what it offers, and why it might be a suitable living option for individuals and families in the Georgia region.
Ogden Park is situated in Allenhurst, GA 31301, USA. Allenhurst is a town located in Liberty County, Georgia, a region rich in history and natural beauty, positioned strategically near the coast. This area offers residents a unique blend of small-town charm and accessibility to larger military installations and coastal attractions. Specifically, Allenhurst is close to Fort Stewart, one of the largest military installations in the eastern United States, making Ogden Park a potentially convenient housing option for military personnel and their families. It is also within a reasonable driving distance of larger cities like Hinesville and Savannah, providing access to a wider range of employment opportunities, shopping centers, dining experiences, and cultural attractions.
The geographic location in Liberty County means residents can enjoy the natural resources of the area, including nearby rivers and coastal landscapes. While the specific internal road network of Ogden Park (Legion Gate) is described in one review as "very narrow and winding, awful in wide vehicles," suggesting it might be challenging for larger recreational vehicles or big trucks, this aspect might not apply to everyday resident vehicles or impact the general accessibility of the mobile home section of the park. It is worth noting that Allenhurst provides essential local services, and its position allows for relatively easy commutes to various points of interest within Southeast Georgia.
Based on the available public information, specific, detailed services offered by Ogden Park as a mobile home park are not extensively itemized in online reviews. However, typical services provided by well-managed mobile home communities include:
- Lot Rental: Residents typically own their mobile homes but lease the individual land plot (lot) from the park. This lease usually includes the use of the lot and access to the park's common areas and infrastructure.
- Utility Hookups: Mobile home parks generally provide essential utility hookups for each lot, such as water, sewer, and electricity. Public records suggest that at least some units have individual meters for city water and city sewage, with trash pickup also provided by the City of Walthourville (indicating a potential connection or service agreement with a neighboring municipality for utility services, given Allenhurst's smaller size).
- On-Site Management/Maintenance (Implied): While not explicitly stated, mobile home parks typically have some form of management responsible for overseeing the community, maintaining common areas, and ensuring adherence to park rules. This contributes to a well-kept environment.
- Waste Management: As mentioned, trash pickup is typically handled, often through a city service.
Prospective residents should always confirm directly with the park management about which utilities are included in the lot rent versus those that are separately billed, as well as the specifics of maintenance responsibilities within the park.
Ogden Park, as a mobile home community, presents several features and highlights that contribute to its appeal as a residential option, particularly for those seeking a friendly and established environment. While one review points to specific challenges for large RVs and certain management aspects, another offers a direct positive endorsement for mobile home residents:
- Friendly and Polite Community: A key highlight, as noted by a resident, is that "People are friendly and polite." This indicates a positive social atmosphere where neighbors are respectful and amiable, contributing to a pleasant living experience. This is a significant factor for individuals and families looking for a supportive and welcoming neighborhood.
- Nice Place to Live: The direct statement, "Nice place to live!", serves as a strong endorsement from a resident, suggesting overall satisfaction with the living conditions and general environment within the mobile home park.
- Deer Wandering Freely: The presence of deer wandering freely, as mentioned in one review, suggests a connection to nature and a possibly more tranquil, semi-rural setting, which can be a highlight for nature lovers.
- Separate RV Section (Implied): The distinction between "Ogden RV park" being "a very small part (one street) of the large resort" and the "very nice mobile home park" suggests that the mobile home community is distinct from the RV park section, possibly offering a more stable and residential feel compared to transient RV sites. This separation could mean that residents of the mobile home park are less affected by the issues (like narrow roads for wide vehicles or transient traffic) that concern RV park visitors.
It's important to acknowledge the critical feedback concerning the "Legion Gate" road being "very narrow and winding, awful in wide vehicles" and the "questionably maintained" permanent RVs in that section, along with "ridiculous" rules and "threats of fines." This feedback, however, seems to pertain specifically to the RV park section, and may not directly reflect the experience of permanent mobile home residents who navigate different internal roads or are accustomed to the community's rules. For potential mobile home residents, the positive aspect of friendly neighbors and a generally "nice place to live" seems to outweigh these specific concerns related to the RV section.
Publicly available information, including the provided reviews and general business listings, does not detail specific promotions or special offers for Ogden Park mobile home community. In the context of mobile home parks, promotions typically involve incentives for new residents, such as reduced lot rent for the first few months, waived application fees, or sometimes even assistance with relocation costs for mobile homes.
For individuals interested in residing at Ogden Park, it is highly recommended to directly contact the park management to inquire about current lot rental rates, any available specials for new residents, and the terms of their lease agreements. It would also be beneficial to ask about the typical process for moving a mobile home into the park or purchasing one already on-site. Direct communication will ensure you receive the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding any financial benefits or community incentives that might be available to prospective residents at Ogden Park.

Customer Reviews
The Ogden RV park is a very small part (one street) of the large resort - Everyone nice but beware the road (Legion Gate) in and out is very narrow and winding, awful in wide vehicles. Could not have made it in or out without offer of staff to lead us and block traffic. Will not stay with our Class A again, not worth the stress and fear of an accident. You wind in and around permanent RVs which were questionably maintained, residents speed around the winding roads.. The list of dos and don’ts are ridiculous, threats of fines! Deer wander freely but can see those on highway getting there. Not a relaxing stay.
Very nice mobile home park. People are friendly and polite. Nice place to live!
