Osage Cove Campground About
For Oklahomans drawn to the tranquility of nature and the allure of lakeside adventures, Osage Cove Campground at Kaw Lake offers a compelling destination. Situated along the scenic banks of Kaw Lake near Ponca City, this campground provides a classic outdoor experience, blending the beauty of north central Oklahoma with essential amenities for both RV and tent campers.
Osage Cove Campground is known for its spacious layout and generally clean environment, making it a comfortable base for enjoying the great outdoors. It boasts a variety of campsites, many of which are shaded, providing a pleasant respite from the Oklahoma sun. The presence of individual picnic tables, fire rings, and electric hookups at most sites ensures that campers have the necessities for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. For those who love to fish or hike, the campground offers direct access to some of Kaw Lake's best opportunities, including the extensive Eagle View Hiking Trail.
While the campground is highly praised for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere, some reviews indicate that certain facilities, such as roads, RV spots, and older restroom/shower fixtures, may be in need of repair or updating. Water access for swimming directly at the campground can also be challenging due to sharp rocks, though a sand swim beach is conveniently located nearby. Despite these areas for improvement, the core appeal of Osage Cove Campground—its natural setting, cleanliness, and prime location for outdoor activities—continues to make it a beloved spot for many Oklahoma campers looking for a true lakeside retreat.

Promotions or Special Offers
Based on the available public data, Osage Cove Campground, being a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground, typically operates with standardized pricing rather than frequent promotional "special offers" like private RV parks might. However, its value proposition includes inherent benefits that act as ongoing offers for campers:
- Reasonable Pricing: Campsites are available at a "very reasonable price," with fees ranging from approximately $18 to $22 per night for electric-only sites, and potentially higher for electric and water sites (some sources cite $22-$100, indicating a range for different site types or group sites). - Access to Extensive Recreational Opportunities: The "offer" of direct access to Kaw Lake for fishing, boating, and a 12-mile hiking trail is a significant value-add, providing abundant activities without additional fees for park entry or trail use.
- Group Camping Options: The availability of three large group campsites for up to 50 people at a set rate ($100/night) is a unique and valuable "offer" for larger family gatherings, youth groups, or friends seeking to camp together.

Firstly, its prime location "along the banks of Kaw Lake" is an irresistible draw for locals. As Oklahomans, our lakes are central to our leisure, and Osage Cove offers immediate access to "some of Ponca City's best hiking and fishing." This means less travel time and more quality time enjoying the water, reeling in a catch, or exploring scenic trails like the Eagle View Hiking Trail. The presence of a nearby "sand swim beach" also addresses concerns about direct lake swimming, showing alternative solutions are available.

This unique feature allows for cherished communal experiences, a hallmark of our state's friendly and close-knit communities. Customer Reviews
Very nice place. Love to camp here. Very clean.
Great place to camp. The facilities are great and clean. The roads and rv spots are is disrepair and have exceeded their lifespan. They are not good and need replaced and same goes for the picnic tables. No water access but if you do try and swim injuries from the sharp rocks will happen. There is a sand swim beach not far that is a great place to swim.
Beautiful clean site. Nearest swim beach is about a 10 minute drive. Fishing below the dam is about 8 minutes away. Water hookups for RVs are very sparse so bring a splitter and some extra hose!
The camp sites are spaced farther apart than most camp grounds. It’s clean and beautiful. We enjoy bringing our dog. There is a new shower facility in the first loop. It’s always clean and has plenty of hot water.
Nice view. Some of the sites aren't ideal for tent camping due to the amount of rocks. Overall pretty good.
