Pharaoh Campground is strategically located within the renowned Garden of the Gods Recreation Area, a jewel of the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. The Garden of the Gods is famous for its dramatic sandstone rock formations, sculpted over millions of years, and its extensive network of scenic hiking trails.
Accessing Pharaoh Campground is relatively straightforward. From Harrisburg, you can take Highway 34/145 south for approximately 6 miles, then continue on Highway 34 south for another 9 miles. Customer Reviews
We ended up there during an unfortunate weekend with a bunch of snow and rain. If they were looking for some suggestions, I'd say try to level out some areas and improve drainage. Most of the sites had standing water in the gravel and outside of the gravel quickly because a mud pit. With that being said, if you go there during nice weather I'm sure it's great
