  • Clean Vault Toilets: The campground provides vault toilets (also known as pit toilets), which are consistently described as clean and well-maintained, contributing to a comfortable experience despite the lack of flush facilities.

Features / Highlights

  • Spacious Campsites: The campground offers spacious sites, providing more room and privacy between neighbors compared to typical RV parks, even if some lack extensive vegetative screens.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a rustic, first-come, first-served campground, Pine Lake Campground does not typically offer complex promotions or special discounts in the traditional sense. Its inherent appeal and "special offer" is its straightforward, affordable pricing and hassle-free access.

  • Consistent, Low Daily Rates: The primary "promotion" is its consistently low daily rate, which makes quality rustic camping accessible to a wide range of budgets. Specific pricing information would be found at the self-registration station.

  • No Reservation Fees: Since all sites are first-come, first-served, campers save on potential online reservation fees or booking charges commonly associated with other campgrounds. This offers immediate savings and spontaneity.

For the most current information regarding camping fees and any operational updates, campers should always check the self-registration station upon arrival at Pine Lake Campground. As it is likely part of a county or state forest system, details can also often be found on the relevant Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) or Forest County Parks & Recreation websites. The value here lies in simplicity and affordability, providing a great option for spontaneous and budget-conscious outdoor enthusiasts.

Sites are spacious but many lack the vegetation and privacy between neighboring sites provided at other rustic campgrounds. Still, there is far more space and privacy here than at a typical RV park. Campers can choose options ranging from sunny sites with little tree cover to deeply shaded sites that stay cool and dark even on hot summer days. The lake bottom at the beach is in dire need of raking. What may once have been a nice swimming area has grown in with lake vegetation. The area is still swimmable if one doesn’t mind weeds and shallow water. You’ll need to walk or swim out far, far from shore to reach deep water in this part of Pine Lake. The campground has one hand pump; its water was clear and good tasting. On-site hosts were friendly and had a visible presence. Vault toilets were clean, common areas were mowed and well maintained - aside from the swimming area. On a stormy, cold August weekend, seven of twelve sites were occupied. Hosts say the campground rarely fills to capacity. Everything here is first-come, first-served; no need to worry about reservations.
