Location and Accessibility

Pine Tree Group Camp is conveniently located in Wilmington, OH 45177, USA. This prime location places it within easy reach for many residents across Ohio, particularly those in the southern and central parts of the state. Wilmington itself is a charming community, offering a sense of peaceful rural escape while still being accessible via major roadways.

One of the significant advantages of Pine Tree Group Camp's location is its slight separation from the main campground. This strategic placement ensures a more private and secluded experience for groups, minimizing traffic and noise from other campers. While it offers a sense of being "away from it all," it's certainly not isolated. The camp boasts quick access to a 0.6-mile hiking trail that winds through the woods, leading directly down to the lake. This makes it ideal for those who enjoy exploring on foot and want direct access to water activities.

For those concerned about facilities, it’s important to note the accessibility to nearby amenities. While the group camp itself does not have on-site water access or a latrine, these are readily available with a short walk. A latrine is conveniently located in the parking lot by the family fishing pond, just a short 3-minute walk away. For larger water needs, such as filling up water jugs, the main campground entrance is a mere 10-minute drive around the lake. This manageable distance ensures that essential needs are met without compromising the private group camping experience that Pine Tree Group Camp specializes in. The ample parking available at the site also makes it incredibly accessible for larger groups arriving in multiple vehicles, ensuring a smooth and stress-free arrival for everyone.

Great group campsite. My group spent the weekend there and it was a great time. As other have said, no water access on site nor is there a latrine onsite. There is one at the lake which is only a 3 minute walk. Plenty of parking for a larger group but single latrine a distance away would be annoying. Quick access to 0.6 mile hiking trail that leads down to the lake through the woods. Firepit is massive which is cool looking but makes cooking over the fire challenging. Also makes sitting around the fire for warmth difficult. Just had to build a bigger fire... Overall great location for a weekend camping spot. Would definitely stay again!

Great group campsite away from the main campground. No water or access to the shower house, but short walk to latrine in the parking lot by the family fishing pond. Its great access to fishing areas. Its a 10 minute drive around the lake to fill up water jugs at the main campground entrance. Wide open and flat. Lots of good tent sites. Huge fire pit. Lots of field space for group games. The two charcoal grills are way too small to feed a large group if you fill the site to the 50 person capacity. Surprising amount of road noise while fisherman come for late night fishing. Would definitely go back with a group.
