For RV enthusiasts, full-time travelers, and New York families seeking the ideal seasonal getaway, finding a campground that blends essential utility services with vibrant community features can be a challenge. Located in the beautiful North Country, Plattsburgh RV Park has established itself as a premier destination that successfully delivers on both fronts. Spanning over 100 acres just north of the City of Plattsburgh, this park offers more than 200 sites and provides a true resort-style camping experience.
The park's appeal is rooted in its continuous commitment to improvement and community engagement. Recent seasons have seen significant enhancements, including a new manager who has revitalized the atmosphere with a robust schedule of weekend activities. Patrons consistently praise the new energy, noting fun-filled events every weekend, such as food trucks, local craft fairs, and farm product sales. This dedication to fostering a lively and inclusive environment is a major highlight, turning a simple stopover into a memorable vacation spot for the whole family.
Plattsburgh RV Park expertly caters to a diverse clientele, from transient visitors needing a quick, comfortable overnight stay to seasonal residents who have made the park their home away from home for years. As one long-term resident noted, the grounds look "fantastic" with new recreational additions like pickleball courts and basketball nets, showing a clear investment in guest enjoyment. The facility is well-known for its "tremendous" and well-maintained heated swimming pool, a clean community center (clubhouse), and overall grounds that are "well cared for."
While many of the sites are occupied by seasonal residents who have personalized their spaces with added structures, the community remains universally described as "super friendly." New York RV owners with larger rigs will appreciate the availability of big rig pull-through sites and the depth of many sites, which can easily accommodate a 40-foot RV. However, prospective guests should note that some sites may be narrow from side to side, so booking an appropriately sized spot is recommended. The park's cost is generally considered reasonable for the extensive range of amenities and the prime location it offers in the Plattsburgh area.
Beyond the RV sites, the park offers a range of other accommodations, including fully-equipped camper rentals, all-season cabins, and lodges, making it accessible even to those without their own RV. This versatility cements Plattsburgh RV Park’s status as a comprehensive recreational hub in Upstate New York.
Plattsburgh RV Park is located at 7182 US-9, Plattsburgh, NY 12901, USA. This is an optimal location for New York locals traveling the I-87 corridor or exploring the Adirondack region.

For New York residents, Plattsburgh RV Park is more than just a place to park an RV—it is a comprehensive family vacation destination that significantly enhances the Upstate camping and recreational experience. Its suitability for locals stems from a perfect trifecta of convenience, amenities, and community.
The park's location off I-87 and proximity to Lake Champlain and the City of Plattsburgh offers maximum convenience. New Yorkers can easily transition from the city bustle to a restful retreat without sacrificing access to modern necessities. This proximity to essential services, coupled with the impressive on-site features, provides a stress-free environment that is ideal for a seasonal stay or a weekend break.
Furthermore, the recent management revitalization and the focus on planned family activities—from pickleball tournaments to food truck weekends—cultivate a strong sense of community and ensures there is always something engaging to do. This vibrant atmosphere, combined with the excellent infrastructure of full hookups, clean bathhouses, and a great pool, makes the cost of a stay here a justifiable investment in high-quality family time. Whether you’re a local RV owner seeking a reliable seasonal spot or a family looking for a home base to explore the beauty of the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain, Plattsburgh RV Park is an exceptional choice for your next New York State adventure.
I have been a seasonal resident for 7 years and this season has been amazing thanks to Angie, the new manager. Fun filled activities every weekend for all to enjoy, including food trucks, craft fair as well as products from a local farm! The grounds look fantastic with new pickleball court, basketball net etc. Wow! It’s a great place for the whole family.
Jul 24, 2025 · Patrick OhayonClean RV park close to Lake Champlain. The city park and beach are less than a mile away, as well as restaurants, shopping, groceries, and a gas station. The pool is tremendous and the grounds are clean and well cared for. Shuffleboard, mini golf, pickleball, and great community center are all available, and the facility hosts events and food trucks frequently. The cost is reasonable for the area. Alot of the RV sites are permanent, where people have parked their rig and added on to it, but everyone was super friendly. Some of the sites are small from side to side, even though they were deep enough to accommodate our 40 foot RV.
Aug 23, 2025 · Brian PolleyThe only thing great about this place is the location and the grounds. The people that run it, pick and choose whom they want to abide the rules. There is dog leash pretty much every where you go these days. Half the people that are staying & living there Do Not leash their dogs. There were multiple sites that had dogs and were not leashed. Not once did or dogs ever lunge or get aggressive with anyone. Were we in a tough living situation, maybe yes but does not mean because we are in a tent and paying guests that we cannot be treated like others. We are a mixed family and have 3 American Bullies. We were brutally discriminated against and was forced to leave the property, even after we paid. My son has a seizure disorder and because of the stress they put on our family, he had 2 seizures the am they came to kick us out, once my son was literally on the ground. I told them to remove themselves from our site so I could attend to my son. They didn't. They kept forcing us out n when I stated I wasn't leaving. Then they called the State Troopers. My dogs never paid any mind to them. They just sat there. It's one thing to tell the truth but to sit hear n write lies about our family does not make you a good business owner. You saw our situation and made your own assessment. You know what happens when we assume right people. We are good people, your not. Judgemental, Disrespectful & Inconsiderate of others needs.
Jun 22, 2025 · Jane TorresI have traveled all over the US and Puerto for business for over 50 years. I have camped in GA, SC, NC, PENNSYLVANIA and NY state. In fact I camped at the site near NORTH POLE NY. Over the years in business and vacation travel I have the most enjoyable times were in facilities that have that MAGIC TOUCH. THE MAGIC TOUCH of the people who own and manage the business. Lately the MAGIC TOUCH is disappearing. With the development of AI or the cost factors of paying good people or that some people just don't take pride in a job well done. SORRY FOR THIS PREFACE. STICK WITH ME HERE!!! There is a place with THE MAGIC TOUCH!!! PLATTSBURGH RV PARK IS THE PLACE. It always starts with ownership/ leadership. The owner Neal, who I did meet a couple weeks ago, cares about the facility and continues to put more into it. This spring a couple of pickleball courts, a basketball court and a new shuffle board. He already has a fantastic pool. Most importantly he has a fantastic management team. I called Neal an owner/leader. It's easy to own but much harder to lead. A leader must hire a great team then he must get out of their way and trust them to provide THE MAGIC TOUCH!! Neal has accomplished that. The team of Angie, Evan and Jim are the best!!!! Angie, the property manager, takes so much pride in her job, if I had business up here, I would hire her in, (sorry for this) IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. BTW: I live in Georgia. ANGIE, a couple weeks ago she spent her own money to buy presents for the kids for a raffle. I was so impressed. She is always available to answer questions, to help the people who are staying. If I had a question she could not answer she got back to me when she promised she would. And always always has a smile. Jim and Evan, the maintenance team, no facility can operate without a team that knows what they are doing. I know what I am talking about, I was in real estate/self storage management for 25 years. These guys do. They also care about there clientele. Example: they helped me with sealing up my gazebo. I am 72 with a bad back. I could not have done it by myself. They worked in 85 degree temp and 80 humidity. They sweated up a storm. I tried to give them some cash but they would not take any. They are fantastic!!! More M.T. of what I spoke to before. In closing, the world is changing as we speak, nobody seems to care about doing even a good job!!!! But at Plattsburgh RV Park the people go up and above!!! Its where The MAGIC TOUCH LIVES Thanks for all you do!!!
Jul 15, 2025 · Mike FoyThe place is nice. Easy in easy out. Close to hyway. The lot was a bit unlevel. The driveway in is bad. They have speed bumps which I couls deal with. The potholes are bad. I thought my rv might bottom out on some.
