For Pennsylvania residents looking to maximize their time off in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, finding a central and welcoming place to stay is key. Pocono Vacation Park, located in Stroudsburg, PA, positions itself as "Where Friends and Family Camp"—a title that speaks to its focus on community, convenience, and accessibility to the Poconos’ vast array of attractions. Unlike many campgrounds that shutter for the winter, Pocono Vacation Park operates year-round, offering an essential option for both summer vacations and winter sports getaways.
The park caters predominantly to RV and trailer campers, providing necessary amenities for a comfortable, extended stay, with a noted mix of daily/weekly visitors and long-term seasonal campers. This mix contributes to a lively atmosphere, often described by guests as low-key, humble, and friendly, thanks in large part to the wonderful owners and staff. While opinions vary on the spacing and general upkeep of all areas, the park’s commitment to providing a central, full-service camping experience near all Poconos highlights is a consistent point of praise. The focus here is on affordability, an excellent location, and a host of on-site activities that keep families entertained while serving as an unbeatable base for regional adventures.
The property features a range of facilities, including multiple pools (with a separate toddler pool), recreational areas, and a small store. It’s a place where families can enjoy organized fun like hay rides and bingo, or simply relax at their site, often alongside a campfire. The welcoming nature of the staff and seasonal residents makes it a particularly attractive option for first-time visitors to the area, or those who appreciate a supportive community feel during their travels.
Pocono Vacation Park boasts a near-perfect location for exploring the entire Eastern Pocono region, a major draw for Pennsylvania locals seeking convenience. Situated at 110 Arnie Way, Stroudsburg, PA 18360, the campground is strategically placed just minutes from the heart of downtown Stroudsburg and major arterial roads like Route 611 and Route 209.
This prime placement means campers have almost instant access to necessary urban amenities and critical services. Crucially for peace of mind, St. Luke's hospital is noted as being only about three minutes away in the event of an emergency. For recreation, the location is a short drive to virtually everything the Poconos offers, including:
The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, a stunning natural area for hiking, fishing, boating, and enjoying the river.
The Appalachian Trail and nearby hiking routes.
Major shopping areas, including outlet malls, and a wide array of dining options in Stroudsburg’s vibrant downtown.
Winter sports destinations like Shawnee Mountain and the region’s famous water parks and casinos are within a 30-minute drive.
Pocono Raceway is approximately 20 miles away, a bonus for racing enthusiasts.
The park's proximity to all these points of interest makes it an invaluable staging ground for any Poconos itinerary, reducing driving time and maximizing vacation enjoyment. The accessibility from major Pennsylvania metro areas via I-80 is also straightforward, leading directly to the Stroudsburg area.

This is a low key, humble campground. There are full timers, seasonal and dailies. The owners and staff are wonderful and very friendly. They have a boat playground for the kids and nice decent pools. There is no fenced doggie run but they have a huge field ground to play for campers and for your furry friends to play. They also have tiny store for some emergency needs. They only have 1 rental cabin. There us no bathroom in the cabin so you need to use the bathhouse and you need to bring your own bedding. They also offer propane tanks refill for a very reasonable prize. Nice bathhouse in the front of the campground. Best of all, this campground is close to everything the Poconos can offer. From shopping, skiing, dining, hiking, boating you name it. And yes, in case of an emergency, St. Luke's hospital is 3 mins away. So check it out and have fun!!! God bless us all!!!!
Aug 28, 2025 · Leilannie MorrisseyAttitude from person at desk in a condensing way. Actted like everyone knew how to get into gate. No real signs. Its like a grass covered parking lot. Spaces jammed up against each other with no real privacy to mention. I'd only go there if I was desperate. Not very special at all.
May 05, 2025 · Byron MaiGood location, the short term sites are a good size. The interaction with the office ladies was not good. We checked in and went to pay and was told we owed $65 more than what was quoted and written down as being owed. I mentioned it to the older lady that was helping us and she got very upset and raised her voice and said that the number of days was wrong and we owed more. I paid and after setting up I looked at our receipt and we were charged for 10 days and not the 9 we were staying. I talked to Heather at the gate and she was very nice and said that Peggy could help us in the office the next day to get the extra night refunded. No problem, this happens and I wasn't overly worried about, just wanted the extra night refunded eventually. I went in the next day to talk to Peggy about the refund. She was quite short with me and said she already knew all about it and to just give her my card to refund. I wanted to discuss with her the possibility of extending our stay for about a month if that was possible. After some sighs and grunts and throwing up of hands she said they may have a spot. I told her I would know later in the day if I would need to extend and would get back her and we could wait on the refund till then. We decided that after the interaction with both Peggy and the other office lady that we would not extend, we felt unwelcome and a burden. I went back to the office to tell Peggy we would not be extending and would like the refund of the extra day they charged us. While I was in the office she was all chatty and laughing with the full timers from the park that were in the office but when it came time for me to talk to her she was blunt and rude. I had to give her my card and also asked if I could purchase propane. She grunted and sighed again, acting like I was asking for a miracle. After the refund was processed and propane was purchased, she threw my card at me and told me to sign the receipts and go outside to wait for the person to help me with the propane. After being treated that way, we decided to leave early, and it was just a terrible experience. We will not be going back. So just a heads up that you may encounter some not so nice individuals working the office.
Nov 01, 2024 · Michael WatsonPVP is a great place to stay/visit. They have 50 and 30 Amp full hookups. The camp sites are a nice size. They are pull through for ease. The roads are gravel and well maintained even in Winter! The camp does have wifi. PVP is open year round for workers and campers just passing through. It is a great place. Very family friendly, but not a lot of noise. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They could have more things to do, but you're in the Pocono Mountains so there is a lot to see and do. There are no laundry facilities on site. There is a laundromat within 15 minutes of the camp ground. The camp is located in a great place, easily accessed from Hwy 611 and Hwy 209. The camp is within a short driving distance to a few resorts and casinos. Restaurants are abundant within 5 minutes of the camp.
Sep 24, 2024 · Patricia EdwardsIt's not your typical campground. I'd say it is rustic. Most everyone there looks like permanent residence. But the people I met were very nice and the park was quiet at night. I had a good stay overnight and the ladies in the office were very accommodating. I would stay there again if I'm ever passing through.
