Pond View Campground is strategically located at 3347 Mountain Gap Rd, Richburg, SC 29729, USA. This address places it in Chester County, providing a peaceful, rural setting while maintaining good accessibility to nearby towns and major roadways in South Carolina.
Richburg, a small town, offers a quiet backdrop, perfect for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of larger cities. However, its location ensures convenient access to essential services and amenities in the surrounding areas. For example, it is situated just south of Richburg, implying a relatively short drive to local shops, gas stations, and basic services that campers might need.
A notable feature of its location, highlighted by a customer review, is its proximity "across the road" from Rocky Creek Sporting Clays. This is a significant draw for enthusiasts of clay shooting and shotgun sports. While the presence of a sporting clays facility means there might be "lots of shooting" during events, the campground staff reportedly provides warnings in advance, and a reviewer noted that it was "never bothered" by the noise, emphasizing that "Safety is Job#1 in clay shooting." This proximity makes it an ideal spot for those participating in or observing events at the sporting clays facility.
Accessibility to the campground itself appears to be straightforward, with a "45 ft motorcoach" having "no problems navigating." This indicates that the roads leading to and within the campground are suitable for larger RVs, which is a crucial consideration for many travelers. For those coming from other parts of South Carolina or neighboring states, its location near major interstates (like I-77) would likely offer convenient routes, placing it within reasonable driving distance for a wide range of visitors. This blend of peaceful rural setting and convenient access makes Pond View Campground well-suited for both short and long-term stays.
Pond View Campground is specifically designed to cater to self-contained RVs, offering a core set of services that prioritize comfort and utility for its guests, particularly those on long-term stays.
-
Full Hookup RV Sites: A primary service is the provision of spacious RV sites equipped with full hookups. This includes a robust power supply (50/30/20 amp, which stayed strong even in the "heat of a SC summer"), well water (described as "tastes fine"), and sewer connections. This comprehensive utility offering allows RVers to enjoy all the conveniences of home while at their site, without the need for frequent trips to dump stations or water refill points.
-
Large and Level Sites: The campground boasts "large sites" that are "limestone and level." This is a significant service as it greatly simplifies the setup process for RVers, regardless of their vehicle size, ensuring a stable and comfortable parking spot. The limestone surface likely helps with drainage and cleanliness.
-
Long-Term Stays Accommodation: Pond View Campground primarily caters to "mostly long term contractors staying here," indicating its suitability and operational focus on extended stays. Being able to "get in contact with Mickey or Michael" for inquiries or assistance is a valuable service, providing personalized support and a direct line of communication for guests.
It is crucial to note a key limitation in services: "You must have a fully self-contained RV to stay here - no public restrooms/shower, etc." This means guests are expected to rely solely on their RV's facilities for bathing and sanitation, as there are no shared public restrooms or showers available on site. This policy ensures the campground caters specifically to its intended audience and maintains its quiet atmosphere.

Customer Reviews
We stayed a month Aug/Sept 2023 and had a great stay. Both Mickey and Michael (father & son) run the campground and are super nice folks. Mostly long term contractors staying here. We have a 45 ft motorcoach and had no problems navigating. Large sites, 50/30/20 amp power (even in the heat of a SC summer voltage stayed strong), well water (tastes fine), and sewer. You must have a fully self-contained RV to stay here - no public restrooms/shower, etc. All the sites are limestone and level. They are pet-friendly - just do the right thing and clean-up after your pet. Across the road is Rocky Creek Sporting Clays. Clay shooting is the closest thing to actual field shooting of all shotgun sports. Golf with a shotgun. During our stay a large tournament was taking place so lots of shooting was going on. We were warned in advance of our stay and honestly, we were never bothered. Safety is Job#1 in clay shooting. Bottom line, if considering a stay, get in contact with Mickey or Michael as we can recommend staying at Pond View Campground just south of Richburg.
Lots to do here very peaceful quiet nice place to stay
I made a reservation with Oak Grove Plantation. They gave my spot to someone else "who needed it". No notice to me, no call, no nothing. Just gave my spot to someone else. Mickey told me "they needed it". Baffling. Why do they take reservations if they will cancel it with no thought and no notice to you? They could have, at a minimum, contacted me. Useless. Save yourself the trouble, no integrity there.
We've stayed at a lot of campgrounds and this one is definitely one of our favorites. The prices are more than reasonable and the property is beautiful. It's the perfect place to be if you like to be in the country. We enjoyed visiting with all of our neighbors and the property owners are wonderful people who take care of their residents. We'll definitely stay here again.
This is a great place to stay I was a resident for several months. The campground is very clean quiet and reasonably priced. Mickey is a great guy and runs a first class place. (Keep in mind they are located adjacent to one of the premier sporting clay ranges in the South. If the sound of gunfire upsets you then this might not be the place for you)
