Riverside Park Campground is ideally located in Beatrice, NE 68310, situated within the expansive Riverside Park itself. This strategic positioning offers campers the best of both worlds: a serene, natural environment within a large city park, coupled with unparalleled access to the conveniences of a thriving Nebraska community.
Beatrice, the county seat of Gage County, is a well-established city in southeastern Nebraska, known for its friendly atmosphere and practical amenities. Campers at Riverside Park Campground are just a stone's throw away from a wide array of services that enhance any trip. This includes readily available grocery stores for stocking up on provisions, diverse dining options for a meal out, fuel stations, pharmacies, and various retail outlets for any supplies or needs that might arise during a stay. The ease of being "close to the shopping in town" is a significant advantage that many travelers highly value.
Accessibility to Riverside Park Campground is remarkably straightforward. Beatrice is well-connected by major U.S. highways, making the campground easily reachable from various parts of Nebraska and beyond. U.S. Highway 77, a primary north-south artery in eastern Nebraska, provides direct access to Beatrice, connecting it to larger cities like Lincoln (less than an hour north) and Omaha (under two hours northeast). This excellent road network ensures a smooth and convenient journey for visitors, whether they are embarking on a cross-state road trip or seeking a quick weekend escape from a nearby town.
Moreover, the park's location "along the Big Blue River" is a significant draw. This riparian setting not only offers picturesque views and a peaceful ambiance but also provides opportunities for river-based recreation like fishing. The combination of urban accessibility, a large green space, and direct river access truly makes Riverside Park Campground a convenient and highly appealing location for any Nebraskan seeking an easy-to-reach and amenity-rich camping experience.
Riverside Park Campground distinguishes itself with a comprehensive suite of services, providing a high level of comfort and convenience that often surpasses what is found at other campgrounds, especially considering its city park setting.
-
Full Hookup RV Sites: A premier offering, the campground provides sites equipped with full hookups. This means each site includes:
- Electrical Hookups: Both 30 amp and 50 amp service are typically available to power all your RV's needs.
- Water Hookups: Individual water connections ensure a fresh water supply directly at your site.
- Sewer Hookups: Direct sewer connections allow for easy wastewater disposal, eliminating the need for frequent trips to a dump station.
- Concrete Pads: A highly valued amenity, the sites feature "concrete pads." This provides a stable, level, and clean surface for parking RVs, making setup easier and more comfortable compared to gravel or dirt sites.
- Affordable Pricing: The pricing structure is incredibly competitive, offering all these premium features for "just $20." This exceptional value makes it highly accessible for all budget ranges.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: While not explicitly detailed in the reviews, a full-service campground within a city park of this caliber would typically offer access to restrooms and showers for camper convenience. (It's worth noting that city park facilities often have seasonal closures, so it's always good to confirm if visiting in colder months).
- Self-Registration System: Campgrounds often operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with a self-registration system (e.g., an "iron ranger" or similar drop-box method for payment). This offers flexibility for arrivals.
-
Park Amenities Access: Campers have full access to the extensive amenities within Riverside Park, including:
- Playgrounds: Multiple areas for children to play.
- Basketball Courts: For sports enthusiasts.
- Extensive Trail System: Well-kept trails, including one that follows the Big Blue River and leads to the Veterans Memorial.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: Most city parks and campgrounds are pet-friendly, requiring pets to be on a leash. This allows visitors to bring their furry companions along.
These comprehensive services collectively make Riverside Park Campground an extremely convenient, comfortable, and desirable choice for campers in Nebraska, truly positioning it as a destination in itself.
Riverside Park Campground is brimming with features and highlights that transform it from a simple stopover into a truly captivating destination for Nebraskan campers. These attributes create a multi-faceted experience that appeals to a wide range of visitors.
- Unbeatable Value with Premium Amenities: The standout highlight is undoubtedly the combination of "concrete pads and full hookups all for $20." This price point for such high-demand amenities (electric, water, sewer, and a level, clean surface) is exceptionally rare and represents incredible value for money, making it accessible and attractive to virtually every RVer.
- "Beautiful Park and Trails": The campground's setting within the expansive Riverside Park is a major draw. Reviewers praise the "Beautiful park and trails," suggesting a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing environment. The park offers ample green space for relaxation, play, and exploration.
- Extensive & Peaceful Walking/Hiking Trails: The "very well kept trail" that "follows the Big Blue River" and leads to the Veterans Memorial is a significant feature. The description "very peaceful along the way" underscores the tranquil nature of these paths, perfect for unwinding and enjoying nature.

Riverside Park Campground, operated by the City of Beatrice, offers an inherently attractive "special offer" through its exceptionally competitive and transparent pricing structure. For locals in Nebraska, the daily and monthly rates are themselves the primary draw, providing outstanding value for the comprehensive amenities included.
The most significant and consistent "promotion" is:
- Exceptional Value with Full Hookups & Concrete Pads: At just $20.00 per night for a site with full hookups (electric, water, sewer) and a concrete pad, Riverside Park Campground offers an unparalleled deal. This low price for such premium features makes it one of the most affordable and comfortable RV camping options in Nebraska. For longer stays, the monthly rate of $500.00 provides even greater savings, making it an excellent choice for extended visits or temporary housing. This consistent, low pricing is their key value proposition, effectively a standing promotion.
As a municipal park, it typically operates on a fixed fee schedule rather than offering complex seasonal discounts or loyalty programs that private campgrounds might employ. However, it's worth noting:
- First-Come, First-Served Flexibility: While not a discount, the first-come, first-served policy allows for spontaneous camping trips, which can be seen as a "special offer" of convenience for locals who decide on a last-minute getaway. During peak seasons, however, arriving early is always advisable to secure a desired spot.
- Access to Free City Park Amenities: The camping fee grants access to all the fantastic recreational facilities within Riverside Park at no additional cost. This includes playgrounds, basketball courts, and the extensive trail system, which are essentially free "bonuses" included with your stay.

Customer Reviews
The park has a lot to do, basketball courts, playgrounds, and camper trailer parking. I hiked up to the Veterans Memorial and back. Went 4.8 mi 1 h 26 m. Very well kept trail. The trail follows the Big Blue River. It was very peaceful along the way.
What a wonderful campground! This is a destination and not just a stopover. We came for one night and will stay for at least three. Beautiful park and trails. Concrete pads and full hookups all for $20.
Great camping venue with nice concrete pads and full hook ups up to 50 amps. Access to concrete bike/walking paths, group pavillion, bathroom/shower house, and fishing in the Big Blue river (that is really brown). 2017: $14 per night w/no reservations. Short drive to downtown Beatrice and shopping or eating.
A very quiet city park in Beatrice NE. Just 4 miles from Homestead National Historical Park. The campground has full hookups for just $20. The sites are paved and flat. When we got there we were greeted by very friendly campground hosts who gave us the lay of the land. The showers had been recently vandalized but the hosts assured us they would be fixed very soon. On review I saw suggested people were living here full time (as opposed to camping)...I think that was for the other city park. This one does not appear to have long term residents. It's Saturday in early May and there are several open spots.
Nicely maintained park/campground, but VERY noisy. The basketball court is next to the camping sites and the local teens play ball well past 11pm. They play music, set off firecrackers, and yell loudly regardless of campers/tenters set up near by. If you want a good night of sleep, I would not recommend staying here.
