Sam's Town About
For many Mississippians, the appeal of hitting the open road in an RV is undeniable. It's about finding that perfect blend of adventure and comfort, exploring new corners of our beautiful state, and having a reliable, welcoming place to call home, even if just for a night or a week. When your journey brings you to the vibrant and entertainment-rich region of Tunica, Mississippi, Sam's Town RV Park stands as a notable option for those seeking a convenient and amenity-rich camping experience. Part of the larger Sam's Town Hotel & Casino complex, this RV park aims to provide a comfortable base for enjoying the local attractions and the casino's offerings.
Sam's Town RV Park has long been recognized for its comprehensive amenities and its direct connection to the excitement of a full-service casino. It's designed to cater to RV enthusiasts who appreciate the convenience of full hookups, well-maintained sites, and access to entertainment just steps away. For instance, the property has been used for conferences and events, with one reviewer noting, "The staff was very hospitable to us as we had our LegalShield Super Saturday and Small Business Small Group certification. Great place to hold a conference." This highlights its versatility beyond just recreational stays, indicating a professional environment when needed.
However, it is crucial for local Mississippians considering a stay to also be aware of more recent customer experiences, which paint a more complex picture. While the allure of a casino-adjacent RV park with full amenities is strong, some visitors have reported significant challenges. Concerns have been raised regarding "faulty hook up wiring and breakers," particularly during extreme weather, leading to power outages and frustrating situations. Issues with maintenance availability after hours and a perceived lack of security have also been mentioned. A customer shared their disappointing experience, stating, "We called their office only to be told that maintenance had gone home and we would have to wait until the next day or move our motorhome again... We will not be staying here again." Understanding both the intended offerings and the realities of recent guest experiences is vital for setting accurate expectations for your visit.
This article will provide a detailed and factual overview of Sam's Town RV Park, guiding local users through its location, services, features, and how to contact them. Our goal is to equip you with the information you need to make an informed decision about whether Sam's Town RV Park is the right fit for your next Mississippi RV adventure, ensuring you are well-prepared for your stay in Tunica.
Sam's Town RV Park is located in Tunica, MS 38676, USA. More specifically, its full address is 1477 Casino Strip Resorts Boulevard, Robinsonville, MS 38664. This places it firmly within the well-known Tunica Resorts area, a popular destination for gaming, entertainment, and golf.
The location on Casino Strip Resorts Boulevard ensures excellent accessibility for all types of RVs. Major roads leading into Tunica are designed to handle large vehicles, making the approach to the park relatively straightforward. Being part of the Sam's Town Hotel & Casino complex means easy navigation once you are in the immediate area. The integration with the casino allows for convenient access to its facilities.
While the exact distance to specific landmarks might vary slightly within Tunica, the park's central position within the resort area means guests are typically within a short drive or shuttle ride of various attractions. This makes it an ideal base for exploring not only the Sam's Town casino itself but also other gaming establishments, dining options, and local points of interest in Tunica and the broader Mississippi Delta region. For those who enjoy golf, the proximity to a golf course is an added benefit, offering another recreational outlet within easy reach.
However, it's also important to note a recent customer comment about the RV park being in a "declining neighborhood." While the casino resort area itself is a hub of activity, this feedback suggests that the immediate surroundings of the RV park might not always meet every traveler's aesthetic expectations, particularly if they venture beyond the resort's direct footprint. Despite this, its primary draw remains its direct and convenient access to the casino and its amenities.
Sam's Town RV Park is designed to provide a comprehensive and comfortable experience for its guests. Based on official information and customer insights, the following services are generally available:
- Full Hookups: All 62 sites are equipped with full hookups, including 50-amp electrical connections, water, and sewer services. Some sources also mention telephone and cable TV hookups.
- Private Concrete Pads: Each site features a private concrete pad, providing a stable and level surface for parking your RV, along with a BBQ grill and picnic table for outdoor enjoyment.
- Paved Park Roads: The internal roads within the RV park are paved, contributing to a clean and easy-to-navigate environment.
- Daily Trash Pickup: Guests benefit from daily trash pickup directly at each site, enhancing convenience and cleanliness.
- Security Patrols: The park roads are stated to have security patrols, although one recent review indicated a perceived lack of security, suggesting this may be an area of inconsistency.
- Pet Runs: The park offers two dedicated pet runs, providing designated areas for pets to exercise.
- Laundry Facilities: While one past review mentioned the laundry room was "ok at it's best," it indicates the availability of laundry facilities for guest use.
- Bathhouse: Although a previous review noted the bathhouse was closed due to COVID (or potentially staff shortages), the facility is typically available and includes restrooms with hot showers.
- Free Courtesy Shuttle: A free courtesy shuttle service is usually available from the park to the casino entrance, making it easy to access the main resort without moving your RV. However, a recent review stated they "don't do shuttles anymore," suggesting this service might be intermittently unavailable or discontinued.
- Free WiFi: The park offers free WiFi access for guests.
Sam's Town RV Park stands out with several key features designed to appeal to RVers, particularly those drawn to the casino resort experience:
- Direct Casino Access: As part of the Sam's Town Hotel & Casino property, guests have immediate and convenient access to the casino's gaming floor, restaurants, and entertainment options. This is a primary draw for many visitors.
- Spacious, Full Hookup Sites: With 62 sites offering full hookups (50-amp, water, sewer, and often cable TV and telephone connections), the park accommodates various RV sizes. The private concrete pads are a significant comfort feature.
- Big Rig Friendly: Many sites, including pull-through options, are designed to be accommodating for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels, making it easy for big rig owners to navigate and park.
- On-Site Amenities: The inclusion of BBQ grills and picnic tables at each site, along with dedicated pet runs, enhances the outdoor living experience for campers.
- Year-Round Operation: The RV park is open year-round, offering flexibility for travelers regardless of the season.
- Proximity to Tunica Attractions: Beyond the casino, the park serves as a gateway to other attractions in Tunica Resorts, including golf courses and potentially other nearby casinos or historical sites.
- Conference Facilities: The ability to host events, as mentioned by a reviewer, indicates that the broader Sam's Town complex offers significant meeting and conference space, which might be a highlight for business travelers or groups.
While specific, regularly advertised promotions for the RV park itself are not extensively detailed in public information, Sam's Town RV Park likely operates with a pricing structure that caters to different stay lengths. It's common for casino-affiliated RV parks to offer:
- Tiered Rates: Daily, weekly, and potentially monthly rates may be available, with savings for longer stays. Prices can start from around $25 per night (according to older Good Sam information), but it's crucial to verify current rates.
- Boyd Rewards Integration: As part of Boyd Gaming, guests might be able to earn Boyd Rewards points on their RV park stays, or existing Boyd Rewards members might qualify for discounted rates or special offers. Enrolling in the Boyd Rewards program is often encouraged for casino visitors.
- Bundle Deals: Occasionally, the RV park stay could be bundled with casino play credits, dining vouchers, or other resort amenities, especially during promotional periods for the main casino.
Given the varied customer experiences, particularly concerning availability and service, it is highly recommended to contact Sam's Town RV Park directly to inquire about the most current rates, any available promotions, and to confirm the exact details of what is included with your stay. This proactive approach will help ensure a smoother and more predictable experience.

For Mississippians seeking an RV experience with a distinct blend of convenience and entertainment, Sam's Town RV Park in Tunica Resorts offers a compelling proposition. Its suitability for locals, however, comes with a caveat, requiring an understanding of both its appealing aspects and reported inconsistencies.
The primary allure for local RVers is undoubtedly its direct integration with Sam's Town Hotel & Casino. This means that a stay here isn't just about parking your RV; it's about having immediate access to gaming, multiple dining options, and potential live entertainment. For Mississippians who enjoy casino resorts and want to combine their RV travels with a bit of excitement, Sam's Town RV Park provides a unique "park and play" opportunity right in their backyard. The full hookups, private concrete pads, and daily trash pickup contribute to a comfortable and relatively hassle-free base for exploring this vibrant area. The availability of pet runs also makes it a convenient choice for those traveling with furry companions.
Furthermore, its location in Tunica offers more than just casino fun. It serves as a gateway to the rich cultural heritage of the Mississippi Delta, and its proximity to golf courses adds another layer of recreational possibilities for locals. For those attending events or conferences at Sam's Town, the RV park offers a practical on-site accommodation solution, as evidenced by positive feedback regarding staff hospitality for such gatherings.
However, it is essential for local Mississippians to consider the recent customer experiences regarding issues like faulty power hookups, perceived lack of security, and challenges with maintenance and communication. These reports suggest that while the amenities are designed to be comprehensive, the consistency of their delivery and customer service may vary. Therefore, a local planning a visit should ideally call ahead to confirm details, manage expectations, and perhaps prepare for minor inconveniences, especially during peak seasons or extreme weather.
In conclusion, Sam's Town RV Park is suitable for Mississippians who prioritize direct access to casino entertainment and are looking for a campground with robust amenities, provided they approach their stay with an understanding of potential service variations. It offers a distinct "resort camping" experience that can be an enjoyable and convenient getaway for those who appreciate the dynamic environment of Tunica Resorts.
Customer Reviews
The staff was very hospitable to us as we had our LegalShield Super Saturday and Small Business Small Group certification. Great place to hold a conference
First night we stayed there we experienced a power outage . The second time we stayed there, we had issues with power again. This time it was due to faulty hook up wiring and breakers. This was in the heat of summer when the temperatures were soaring at 109 degrees. We had just traveled 10 hours. We were tired. We called their office only to be told that maintenance had gone home and we would have to wait until the next day or move our motorhome again. We had already gone through the trouble of hooking everything up so we ended up having to move our motorhome again. The RV park is in a declining neighborhood. We didn’t see security at all. We will not be staying here again .
I'm not sure one can post ZERO stars, but here goes. The grass was freshly mown.....and that's the nicest thing I can say about this place. The staff were rude. If you enjoy no social skills, mixed with incompetence, with just a hint of, not my job...This is your place. Upon receiving the receipt for our 2 day stay; I asked for a channel lineup, and the WiFi Passcode.... "Oh dat don't work back there, never has." was the response. We won't be back.
We had a decent time. It wasn't very busy so it was easy to get on your favorite machines. Great Mexican food
No showers or restrooms, laundry had air conditioning but didn't work. Heat wave every day over 100°. Casino building in disrepair. Won't be back.
