Sandy Point RV Park About

For Oklahomans who embrace the RV lifestyle, whether as full-time adventurers or weekend explorers, finding the right RV park is crucial for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. A great RV park offers not just a place to park, but a sense of community, convenient amenities, and a peaceful environment. Today, we're putting the spotlight on Sandy Point RV Park, located in Cleveland, OK, a park that aims to provide a quiet and peaceful base for RV travelers and long-term residents in the heart of Oklahoma.

RV living continues to gain popularity across the Sooner State, offering flexibility and freedom that traditional housing often cannot. From exploring Oklahoma's beautiful lakes and state parks to establishing a temporary home base for work or leisure, RV parks play a vital role. Sandy Point RV Park positions itself as a "small quiet very nice little park," appealing to those who prioritize a serene atmosphere and a sense of belonging. Its proximity to Keystone Lake adds to its allure, offering easy access to outdoor recreation.

While the park generally promotes a tranquil setting and friendly atmosphere, it's also important to acknowledge that public feedback is mixed. Some residents highlight the peace, concrete pads, and friendly owners, finding it an excellent value for long-term stays. However, other reviews point to significant concerns regarding water supply consistency, road conditions, and alleged unprofessionalism from owners. This article will provide a factual overview based on available public data, aiming to give prospective visitors a balanced view. As with any RV park, it is always recommended to contact Sandy Point RV Park directly for the most current details regarding availability, rates, and to address any specific concerns you may have before booking your stay.

For those embarking on full-time RV life or simply seeking a long-term, stable spot, Sandy Point RV Park is noted by some as a "good place to launch from" and a "good deal" due to its quiet nature and pricing. Its focus on providing a peaceful environment, even on holiday weekends, can be a significant draw for many RVers seeking tranquility.

Location and Accessibility

Sandy Point RV Park is conveniently located at 950 S Cimarron Vly Rd, Cleveland, OK 74020, USA. Cleveland is a town situated in Pawnee County, Oklahoma, known for its proximity to Keystone Lake, a major recreational destination in the state. This location offers a blend of peaceful rural living with good accessibility to nearby attractions and larger urban centers.

The park's address places it within easy reach of Keystone Lake, providing guests with opportunities for boating, fishing, and other water activities. It's also noted to be "25 Minutes to Downtown Tulsa" and "2 Miles from HWY 412," which are significant advantages. Highway 412 is a key east-west route across Oklahoma, making it relatively simple for RVers to access the park from various directions. The proximity to Tulsa means that while enjoying a quieter park environment, residents and visitors are never far from major city amenities, including extensive shopping, dining, entertainment venues, and healthcare facilities.

While some reviews mention "terrible roads going in and out of the RV park," suggesting that the immediate access roads might be unpaved or in poor condition, the overall location offers good regional accessibility. For RVers, particularly those seeking a long-term base or a peaceful stopover near a major lake and a large city, Sandy Point RV Park's location provides a strategic balance.

Services Offered

Sandy Point RV Park primarily focuses on providing essential services for RVers, particularly those seeking longer-term stays. Based on customer reviews and public listings, the services offered include:

  • RV Site Rentals: Providing designated spaces for recreational vehicles.
  • Full Hookups: Each site is equipped with essential connections, including 30/50 AMP electricity, water, and sewer. Trash service is also typically included in the pricing.
  • Concrete Pads and Patios: Many sites feature concrete pads for RVs and concrete patios, offering a stable and clean surface.
  • Long-Term Stay Options: The park is highlighted as being suitable and a "good deal" for those looking for long-term or full-time RV living. Daily and weekly rates are available, with monthly rates upon inquiry.
  • Pet-Friendly Environment: The park is described as "dog friendly," indicating that pets are welcome.

It's important to note the specific feedback from some customers regarding the absence of certain amenities: "no extra amenities like Laundry or showers/restrooms." This suggests that guests should be self-contained or prepared to access these services off-site. Additionally, concerns about inconsistent water supply (due to pipe issues or pressure problems) have been raised, which is a critical consideration for RVers. Prospective guests should clarify the current state of water services before booking.

Features / Highlights

Sandy Point RV Park emphasizes several features that contribute to its appeal for specific types of RVers:

  • Quiet and Peaceful Atmosphere: This is consistently highlighted by positive reviews, with one calling it "very quiet and peaceful" even on holiday weekends. This feature is a major draw for those seeking tranquility.
  • Concrete Pads and Patios: The presence of "concrete pads with a concrete patio" at spaces is a significant amenity, offering a stable, clean, and comfortable outdoor living area for RVs.
  • Pet-Friendly: The park is explicitly noted as "dog friendly," appealing to RVers who travel with their furry companions.
  • Suitable for Long-Term Stays: Several reviews recommend it for "long-term" or "full-time RV life" due to its quiet nature and perceived good value.
  • Proximity to Keystone Lake: Its location near the lake provides easy access to water-based recreational activities, although the park itself doesn't offer direct lake access amenities.
  • Accessible Location: While quiet, it's conveniently located near Highway 412 and approximately 25 minutes from Downtown Tulsa, balancing seclusion with urban access.

However, it's crucial to acknowledge the negative feedback which mentions recurring issues with water shut-offs and pressure, an alleged snake infestation in the back, and concerns about poor road conditions within and leading to the park. While these are serious points, they offer a factual view of the park's reported characteristics. Prospective guests should weigh these factors against the positive highlights, particularly the quiet environment and concrete amenities, and confirm current conditions directly with the park management.

Promotions or Special Offers

Publicly available information, including customer reviews, mentions a pricing structure that suggests the park offers competitive rates for long-term stays, which can function as a form of "promotion" for full-time or extended RVers. Specifically:

  • "Prices good very good for just a quiet place to call home" implies affordability, especially for longer durations.
  • Daily rates are listed at $35.00 and weekly rates at $175.00, with monthly rates available upon inquiry. This weekly rate already offers a discount compared to daily booking.

While specific seasonal promotions or unique packages are not detailed in the provided information, the park's value proposition for long-term guests is highlighted. To inquire about any current promotions, special rates for extended stays, or any other offers, interested individuals should directly contact Sandy Point RV Park. Speaking with the owners or management team will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information on any available deals that could make your stay more economical.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For Oklahomans seeking a specific type of RV park experience, Sandy Point RV Park in Cleveland offers a compelling option, particularly for those prioritizing peace, affordability, and a long-term base. Its primary suitability for locals, especially full-time RVers or those needing an extended stay, lies in its consistently praised "quiet and peaceful" atmosphere. Many residents attest to its serenity, even during holiday weekends, which is a significant advantage for individuals or families looking for a calm environment to call home or to unwind after work.

The presence of concrete pads and patios at each site is a highly valued feature, providing a stable, clean, and comfortable space for RV setup and outdoor living – a practical benefit often sought by long-term residents. The park's pet-friendly policy also makes it an excellent choice for Oklahoma locals who travel with their beloved dogs, ensuring their furry companions are welcome.

Financially, Sandy Point RV Park is noted for its "good deal" pricing, particularly for longer-term stays, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious RVers. While it's acknowledged that the park lacks amenities like on-site laundry or restrooms/showers, for self-contained RVs, this might not be a deterrent, especially when offset by a favorable price point. Its location near Keystone Lake offers easy access to outdoor activities, and the relatively short drive to Downtown Tulsa provides urban conveniences when needed, creating a balanced lifestyle.

While some critical feedback regarding water consistency and road conditions exists, the positive testimonials from those who have successfully launched their full-time RV life or found a quiet home base there highlight its core strengths. For the Oklahoma RVer prioritizing tranquility, concrete sites, affordability for long-term stays, and a pet-friendly environment, Sandy Point RV Park could indeed be a suitable and valuable choice, provided they confirm current operational details directly with the park management.

Small quiet very nice little park! Dog friendly and all of them are friendly. The people that stay here most of them live here and get up to go to work each morning so it’s very quiet in the evenings but still visit and spaces are concrete pads with a concrete patio, very nice mostly I cannot express how quiet and peaceful this little park is even on holiday weekends being so close to the lake no problems thank you Brandi and T for giving us our first start at full-time RV life. It’s been a good place to launch from highly recommend if you’re just looking for , a place especially something long-term. The owners are very rude and unprofessional. The water was shut off every week due to pipes busting or they were having problems with water pressure. The very back of the park was infested with snakes. At one point we found toilet paper or white flakes in our water and asked the owners what it was because we were worried, only to be met with cussing and yelling on the owners side. Not to mention we paid 3 months in advance. The roads are terrible going in and out of the rv park. All around, its a bad place. 100% don't recommend.

Great little RV park for longer term stays! The RV sites were nicely spaced out. Very well maintained park. We were there from May thru August of 2024.

Brandi was super friendly. The park is new and secluded. What we liked best is that the sites are really spacious, it’s quiet, there is a lot of land surrounding the property where you can walk your dog, our kids can “explore”, it’s close to the lake and not too far from the city. We can’t wait to be back and stay there again.
