Their mission is to provide accessible outdoor recreation for all residents at a reasonable, publicly managed rate.
To camp at Savanna Campground, all vehicles entering William O'Brien State Park are required to have a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit. This permit can be purchased annually (offering great value for frequent park visitors) or as a daily pass. These fees directly contribute to the ongoing maintenance, improvements, and operations of the park and its various facilities.
Given the popularity of William O'Brien State Park and the convenience of Savanna Campground's amenities and location, it is highly recommended to make reservations well in advance, especially for weekends, holidays, and during the peak summer season. Customer Reviews
What a great place to camp for the weekend. Only about an hour from Minneapolis. Drive in campsite for tent was large. Semi-close to other campers, but I felt we all had our space. Lots of trees for hammocks! Very family friendly and dog friendly.
Beautiful campground with plenty to do. We stayed in site #87. It was close to the showers, yet very secluded.
Very nice, clean and quiet. Sites are fairly close but screened by vegetarian.
My stay here at the Savanna Campgrounds has been amazing. Although I haven't experienced everything the park has to offer I have truly enjoyed the beauty and magic surrounding me. I have finally found my peace on earth but am still in search of the fountain of youth, which I suspect is not too very far away.
Down one star because the restrooms are closed during the week!! Only the two unisex handicapped ones are opened for the entire campground for shower use too! How crazy is that!!! Men seem to urinate all over, it's gross! But the campgrounds are beautiful!
