Customer Reviews
Absolutely beautiful and so very peaceful. Definitely more people than we expected but not crowded or uncomfortable at all. The camp host was wonderful and the facilities were very clean and well stocked. Definitely worth the drive from Oklahoma.
I love coming up here... pretty little spot and Bill, the campground host, is super nice. Best place to stay with a short drive to Albert's Pike for the day. I also get great pics when here 🏕
We love Shady Lake. It's pure nature & lots of hiking, playing in creeks and peace. It's usually pretty full but no problems with anyone. No cell reception but that's what we need sometimes.
Without Google Map and a good friend I would have never found it. Amazing as I lived in Arkansas, not 40 miles away. The water was cool, the park well kept, the bathrooms stocked and reasonably clean. We stuck to the little stream, but if you walk up a little, previous visitors have built little dams, allowing the water to rise and giving you a place to just sit, stay cool and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
If you're looking for a place to be off-grid for a few days or even a week. Heck, even a month if life permits. Shady Lake is the perfect spot for a getaway. There are hiking trails to explore. A beautiful lake to go fishing. If neither is of interest - enjoying the sounds of nature at your campsite and sitting by the campfire in the evenings will be just as perfect. Also, don't worry there is great distance between you and your fellow neighbor campers. Just keep in mind - when outdoors the daddy long leg spiders and stick bugs will come out and play too. Arkansas isn't called the natural state for nothing!
