For many residents across Western and Central Pennsylvania, the search for a permanent, community-focused summer retreat ends in Slippery Rock, PA. Slippery Rock Campground, officially known as the Slippery Rock Campground Association (SRCA), is a vast and unique destination that functions as a member-owned, gated camping community. Since its establishment, it has grown to become a second home for over a thousand families who spend their spring, summer, and fall seasons enjoying the relaxed, yet actively engaging, environment.
The sheer scale of the campground is one of its most notable features—it is a truly massive property, covering a significant area near the charming college town of Slippery Rock. This size, combined with its structure, creates a vibrant, laid-back atmosphere that fosters deep friendships and a strong sense of community. Far from being a simple overnight stop, SRCA is designed for extended enjoyment, offering continuous, organized activities for all ages. Visitors consistently praise the friendly, helpful community and the abundance of options available, whether you want to enjoy a lively concert featuring acts like "Elvis," participate in a themed festival like "Hawaiian Aloha," or simply "chill by the pool" and enjoy the peace of Butler County. The campground is well-maintained and takes security seriously, operating as a private, gated facility, which provides members with a strong sense of safety and exclusivity.
Slippery Rock Campground is ideally situated at 1150 W Park Rd, Slippery Rock, PA 16057, USA, positioning it conveniently within Pennsylvania’s major travel routes and near popular attractions. The campground is located approximately four miles west of the town of Slippery Rock and is easily accessible right off Interstate 79 (I-79 at Exit 105), making it a straight-forward drive for residents coming from Pittsburgh, Erie, or other major regional hubs.
The local area provides incredible outdoor opportunities for campers looking to explore beyond the site’s substantial grounds. Crucially, the campground borders Moraine State Park, a massive and beautiful Pennsylvania State Park. This close proximity means campers have easy access to miles of hiking, walking, and biking trails, as well as Lake Arthur, where they can enjoy boating, fishing, and swimming at the North Shore beach area. Additionally, McConnells Mill State Park is only a few miles away, offering more rugged hiking and historical exploration.
For daily needs, the college town of Slippery Rock is minutes away, providing local markets, eateries, and necessary services. This strategic location—offering both immediate access to nature and quick drives to essential local amenities—makes Slippery Rock Campground a highly practical and desirable seasonal home for Pennsylvania families.

Very nice, peaceful laid back camp ground with tons of activities,or just chill by the pool. Plenty of activities for kids & adults. Concerts, bands and festivals. Mini golf, watch out for all the golf carts. Have a nice pool also to cool off. There's a little store for some of your needs. Private gated camp ground, with a fob to get into, or someone has to let you. This camp ground is huge. Definitely needed their golf cart because of the size of it. My sister has a camp there, she's always telling me about activities & how much she's having fun. They have a Hawaiian aloha this weekend I believe. Plenty of things to do, or chill by the pool. Elvis was even there rocking in the building, singing & put on a great performance. Dog friendly, restroom 🚻 showers 🚿 available. Fishing 🎣 even. I will definitely be back, even if I have to invite myself 😀
