Location and Accessibility

Springcreek Campground is strategically located at 81 County Rd 500 E, Montrose, IL 62445, USA. This address places it in the quiet, rural landscape of Montrose, a small village in Effingham County, Illinois. Despite its serene setting, the campground offers excellent accessibility, making it a convenient stop for many Illinois travelers and those passing through the state.

A significant advantage of Springcreek Campground's location is its close proximity to Interstate 70 (I-70). Reviews frequently highlight its convenience as a "great for a over night stay" and "Not to far from the hwy," indicating easy access for those on long journeys or quick weekend getaways. This prime location allows campers to quickly exit the interstate, find a peaceful spot, and then easily rejoin their route, minimizing travel time and maximizing relaxation.

While Montrose itself is a small community, the campground's setting still provides a sense of being immersed in nature, away from the constant noise and traffic of larger towns. However, if you need to stock up on supplies or wish to explore more dining and shopping options, the city of Effingham, IL, is a short drive away. Effingham is a larger hub with various services, restaurants, and attractions, including Lake Sara and the My Garage Museum. This means you can enjoy the quiet charm of the campground while still having access to urban conveniences when desired.

The internal roads within Springcreek Campground consist of "level gravel sites," which are generally easy to navigate for various types of RVs and trailers, from smaller travel trailers to larger motorhomes. Lovely campground! We stayed here several times, only for a one night break in our longer trips. Large shaded sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and electric (30 amp) hookup (dump and water are available on the grounds). A nice, well maintained pond that you can walk around. Many benches to sit on and enjoy the peaceful view . A nice playground right next to a pavillion with a community grill. Clean bathhouse with handicap accessibility. We paid $25 in cash for a 30 foot TT, in Sep 2024. Easy access in and out.

Bob and his wife are always down to earth people. Easy to access. Modern amenities. Great for a weekend away or just a stop while traveling. Very easy going about dogs being able to run (just clean up after them) . Very fun and safe place

This is a small campground run on the honor system. 30 amp electric hookups available, flush toilets and showers, an RV dump, good water, a sweet little lake with a fountain, children's playground. Fee for RVs is $25. I think it may be cheaper for tents. It's asset and challenge is that it's situated close to the interstate, so it's a quick on/off if you just need an overnight, but you can hear the truck traffic.

Nice and inexpensive electric sites near the interstate. Level and shady spots with large green space. Family run and friendly. Give them a call. Weekdays are pretty available but weekends seem popular here. Only 24 spacious sites. No water hookup at sites.
