Are you a Pennsylvania resident looking for a peaceful, well-maintained getaway that doesn’t require a long, stressful drive? Look no further than Susquehanna Shores Campground in Falls, PA. Nestled along the picturesque banks of the mighty Susquehanna River, this charming destination is a true local treasure in the heart of Northeast Pennsylvania (NEPA). It offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and a genuinely welcoming, family-focused atmosphere.
More than just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent, Susquehanna Shores is known for cultivating a sense of community. The owners and management have successfully created an environment that draws in like-minded campers, many of whom return season after season, helping to create a welcoming, extended "camping family." This focus on community and meticulous maintenance is what sets this spot apart as a safe, beautiful, and truly enjoyable place to call your temporary, or even seasonal, camping home.
While the campground is open to short-term visitors, it is primarily known as a seasonal campground, offering PA locals a reliable, beautiful, and convenient home base for the entire camping season (typically from approximately mid-April to mid-October, weather permitting). Whether you're seeking a quick weekend escape or a full season of riverfront tranquility, Susquehanna Shores Campground offers a relaxing experience without ever having to leave the beautiful Keystone State.
Conveniently located in the town of Falls, PA, Susquehanna Shores Campground is easily accessible for residents across the Northeast Pennsylvania region and beyond. Its location along the Susquehanna River valley means you get stunning water views and direct river access, all without venturing far from major PA routes.
The campground’s address is:
121 Susquehanna Beach Rd, Falls, PA 18615, USA
The location is a short drive from Scranton and the Wilkes-Barre area, making it a viable and appealing option for a weekend trip or seasonal commitment. For those coming from further afield within Pennsylvania, its proximity to major highways allows for relatively easy travel from areas like the Poconos, Harrisburg, and even the Philadelphia metro area. This convenience is a significant factor in its popularity among Pennsylvanians looking for a quick and reliable nature escape.
While the property is known for its spacious, grassy parking areas, visitors with longer travel trailers should be mindful when navigating the distinct upper and lower levels. As noted by experienced campers, the transition to the lower, river-level sites might pose a slight challenge for some long-wheelbase rigs in avoiding dragging the bottom. Fifth wheels and most RVs, however, typically do not face this issue. It is always wise to inquire with the office if you have concerns about maneuvering a particularly large unit.
Once you're settled, you'll find there are plenty of nearby attractions to explore, including local businesses and natural landmarks. The area offers easy access to local outfitters for kayaking and canoeing, as well as attractions like the Endless Mountains, Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, and Steamtown National Historic Site—all within a reasonable driving distance from the campground.
Susquehanna Shores Campground is dedicated to making your stay comfortable, convenient, and safe. The management and owners work hard to ensure the grounds and facilities are well-maintained and clean for all guests. The services provided are geared toward a hassle-free camping experience, allowing you to focus on enjoying the river and the community atmosphere.
What makes Susquehanna Shores a standout choice for local campers? It’s a combination of its beautiful natural setting and the specific amenities that enhance the riverfront experience.

Whether you’re staying for a long weekend or the entire season, it provides a genuinely pleasant and engaging outdoor experience right here in your backyard.

A very nice, small campground. Well maintained and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed the owner. The upper level seem to be more of the semi-permanent campers. The lower, river level, more like us. Short timers. Nearby is a laundry and down the street a nice, fun little bar with some pretty good food. The only concern I might suggest is that if you have a long travel trailer, there might be some issue trying to pull your rig off the lower level without dragging bottom. 5th wheels, not a problem. RV’s, it would depend upon your wheelbase and how it compares to the length of the body. Large, grassy parking areas. Yes, you can have your traditional bugs, but hey, you’re on the river. That’s part of the experience.
