Sweetwater RV Ranch & Riding Stables About
For those of us living in Louisiana, the call of the outdoors is often a strong one. Whether it’s for a peaceful weekend escape or a longer-term stay in a serene setting, finding the right campground can make all the difference. Sweetwater RV Ranch & Riding Stables in Loranger, LA, offers a unique blend of tranquility, natural beauty, and essential amenities, making it a compelling option for campers across our state.
Sweetwater RV Ranch & Riding Stables is more than just a place to park your RV; it’s a destination designed for relaxation and connecting with nature. Nestled in the quiet rural landscape of Tangipahoa Parish, this campground promises a peaceful setting where the sounds of the countryside replace the hustle and bustle of city life. Reviews from actual customers consistently highlight the serene atmosphere, with one happy camper stating, "I'm camping with my dog. Sweetwater has everything I was looking for-- peaceful setting with all the amenities. I'll be back!" This immediate positive feedback underscores the park's ability to deliver on its promise of a calm and well-equipped environment.
While the name "Riding Stables" might evoke images of extensive equestrian activities, current information suggests that the primary focus has shifted. A recent visitor noted, "They used to offer horseback riding but now I only see two horses in the field with cows and donkeys. It is enjoyable to see them, though and to walk up to the little ranch with goats and chickens, etc. Needless to say, I don't think they offer that anymore." Despite this change, the presence of farm animals still adds to the charm and rustic appeal of the ranch, especially for families with children who enjoy seeing friendly animals up close.
The campground’s appeal truly lies in its simplicity and natural offerings. "There isn't much else to do aside from a pool and a small nature trail mowed out in a field with a little woods. Most of the campground is now full of residents that are there permanently or an extended period for work, but there are a few spots still for guests." This indicates that while it might not be a high-activity resort, it excels in providing a clean, quiet, and nature-rich environment. For many, the opportunity to see deer and a variety of beautiful wild birds, as mentioned by a visitor, is a significant highlight. It caters perfectly to those who seek a genuine outdoor experience with the comforts of RV amenities, rather than constant organized entertainment.
The presence of long-term residents also suggests a stable and perhaps close-knit community vibe within the campground. While it means fewer transient spots, it also points to a well-regarded place where people choose to stay for extended periods, perhaps for work in the area or simply because they've found their ideal peaceful retreat. The owners are described as "extremely sweet," which is invaluable for any campground experience, ensuring a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all guests.
Ultimately, Sweetwater RV Ranch & Riding Stables appears to be an excellent choice for those who value peace, cleanliness, and direct contact with nature, all within the accessible reach of a beautiful part of Louisiana. It’s a place where you can unwind, enjoy the simple pleasures of camping, and perhaps even spot some local wildlife.

Customer Reviews
I'm camping with my dog. Sweetwater has everything I was looking for-- peaceful setting with all the amenities. I'll be back!
I've been to this campground quite a few years back. They used to offer horseback riding but now I only see two horses in the field with cows and donkeys. It is enjoyable to see them, though and to walk up to the little ranch with goats and chickens, etc. Needless to say, I don't think they offer that anymore. There isn't much else to do aside from a pool and a small nature trail mowed out in a field with a little woods. Most of the campground is now full of residents that are there permanently or an extended period for work, but there are a few spots still for guests. This may be very enjoyable for some, it is clean, quiet and full of nature. Sometimes you see deer and there are plenty of beautiful, wild birds. I just feel there is so much potential for the ranch, bunk house, and little restaurant area that is closed. Nonetheless we enjoyed our time and the owners are extremely sweet.
I love it here. The owner Mrs. Rita is a Sweetheart and so is Mrs. Tammy and Mr. Brad who make sure the grounds are Beautiful and everything is in Working order. It’s so Peaceful, Tranquil and Relaxing here!
It was our first time. And we will definitely be back! It was quiet, but enough stuff for the kids to do without hearing I am bored... it was clean and the owner is the sweetest! They offer horse back riding and other things for the kids. They have full hookups which we renice! The spots were great too! Can’t wait to go back!
I basically grew up here my grandparents brought me out here almost every weekend because we kept our rv there. It’s just a really great atmosphere there’s a nice park a good pool area to chill and the Mrs Rita’s really nice. I 100% recommend staying here if you’re looking to have a good time.👍👍
