The proximity to Colonial Beach also offers opportunities for waterfront access and exploring a charming local town. For Thousand Trails members, the value proposition of no nightly fees often makes it an incredibly cost-effective option for frequent camping. This is not a bad campground at all. It's clean and well kept, and the service was good, people were genuinely friendly. But it's really small and the only activity is the playground. There is a really nice pavilion with tables and grills, and the grounds are well kept, very rustic and not landscaped. Bathrooms are clean in general and cleaned regularly, but a bit outdated. As a bonus, George Washingtons birth place is just 12 minutes away.
Oct 19, 2024 · S & S RV AdventuresWe stayed here two years ago in late Oct./early Nov. and thought the sites were EXTREMELY tight, and nothing for kids to do other than the playground and a large field. Fast forward to this weekend when we planned to stay again for an event going on near by… we had an unexpected issue with our equipment last minute that put us behind. We called on the way to let them know we were on the way but wouldn’t get in til 5:15-5:30. The female on the phone started friendly until I said we would be a few minutes later then “sunset” when she became short and rude. We then spoke with a supervisor about the same issue and she was unsympathetic, almost hostile, and concerned about trivial things. She would rather us park in a parking lot overnight with no electricity or water with 2 children rather than allow us to set up in a site when there was still enough light (photos attached were taken at Chesapeake Bay Thousand Trails at 5pm, 5:15m, and 5:30pm). Absolutely unreasonable and ridiculous policies at this park. Wasn’t impressed two years ago and today sealed the deal for us on this campground. 5pm final checkin time is absolutely unreasonable and the policy needs to be changed immediately. I’m sure campers in the summer don’t have this issue but not everyone wants 100° wether for camping… Instead, We called thousand trails Chesapeake bay and the rangers were friendly, understanding and the campground is 1000x better in every way. Don’t waste your time at Harbor View
Nov 09, 2024 · Alicia DarouseWe would actually give 4.5 but no option to do so. Pros: Big rig friendly (40 foot 5th wheel) 50 amp Very nice pool (staff worked very hard to keep it clean. They did have to shut down for a week or so which was rough. Pool became dirty easily.) Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quiet location, big sites. Walking path, fishing ponds. Nice playground, lodge, and reading area. Showers were hot and clean. Cons: Water pressure was really low at our site. Amenities were a bit outdated Not a lot around in the area unless you are a US history buff. We would definitely return again but probably only stay for 1-2 weeks. We stayed 3 which was a bit too long.
Aug 30, 2024 · Emily OrserThis park is great and a must stay!! Tammy and Walt are great. They welcomed me with smiles and kindness. My site was assigned and I was escorted by Walt who also helped me park. This is a blessing especially when you have been driving all day. The seasonals are super nice and just down right friendly people and not in your business at all. The park is well maintained and the seasonal sites are not overflowing with extra stuff. It was really cool to see everyone participate in the Halloween activities. Another person commented on the distance from town. If you have a vehicle, the drive is not far from WalMart, Dollar Store, and fast food. I don't have a vehicle and stopped at WalMart before arriving. Domino's delivers and there is a taxi service if needed. I am a remote worker and my T-MOBILE signal was "Very Good" the whole time I was here. Verizon works as well but didn't need as a backup. Amenities are also nice and clean. Will definitely come back!! Thank you for your awesome hospitality 😊
Oct 28, 2024 · RV AdventurerStayed here for 2 weeks, love the campground. It's little far from Walmart or grocery stores but it's okay. We stayed in "C" section. They have playground. Lake, good place for waking or running. The Harbor View Circle is a neat community with a Soybean farm. Got 3 or 4 bars for Tmobile which works fine since I work from home. Definitely comeback here, staffs were amazing
