Location and Accessibility

Tindal & Young Ret. RV Park is located at 19611 Keller Rd, Foley, AL 36535, USA. This address places it within the general vicinity of Foley, a rapidly growing city in Baldwin County, Alabama. Foley serves as a convenient gateway to the popular Gulf Shores and Orange Beach areas, while maintaining its own distinct local charm and a slightly more relaxed pace.

The park's location on Keller Road suggests it is situated somewhat off the main thoroughfares, which could contribute to a quieter environment away from heavy traffic. Accessibility to the park from major routes like US-98 or AL-59 (via local roads) should be straightforward for RVs. Being in Foley provides residents with relatively easy access to a variety of essential amenities. This includes grocery stores, medical facilities, dining options, and shopping centers, ensuring that daily needs are met. Furthermore, the short drive to the coastal attractions of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach means that while staying at the park, visitors can easily explore beautiful beaches, fishing charters, entertainment venues, and state parks that draw so many to the Alabama Gulf Coast. While the exact proximity to specific attractions from the park's direct address isn't detailed, its general location within Foley positions it well for local exploration.

Services Offered

  • RV Sites: The park provides spaces for RV parking. Based on reviews, these sites offer basic amenities required for an RV, including electric hookups. The stability and levelness of the sites may vary, as indicated by some customer feedback.

  • Electric Hookups: Sites include electric service, though the pricing structure for electricity has been a point of concern for some previous guests, with varying reported rates.

  • Water and Sewer Hookups: As is standard for most RV parks, it is implied that water and sewer connections are available at the sites, though direct confirmation of every amenity from the provided reviews is limited.

Features / Highlights

Based on the available customer reviews, here are some features and highlights to consider for Tindal & Young Ret. RV Park:

  • Affordable Rates: One significant highlight, as mentioned by a reviewer, is the "cheap $250 month" rate, suggesting that the park aims to offer a very budget-friendly option for long-term stays. This could be a primary draw for individuals or families prioritizing cost savings.

  • Focus on Basic Accommodation: The park appears to focus on providing essential RV parking spaces without extensive additional amenities. This might appeal to campers who prefer a simpler setup and do not require numerous on-site facilities.

  • Long-Term Stay Potential: The monthly pricing structure and nature of the reviews indicate that the park is oriented towards accommodating guests for extended periods, such as a couple of months, rather than short-term vacationers.

However, it is important for prospective guests to also be aware of some challenges highlighted in reviews, which could impact their experience:

  • Customer Service Concerns: Reviews express serious concerns regarding "nasty attitude towards the tennet and there guest," including "yelling and screaming." This suggests potential issues with how management interacts with guests.

  • Electric Metering Issues: There are explicit complaints about being "over charge for electric" and inconsistent "kilowatt hours" rates, with one guest reporting a significantly higher rate than expected and different from others.

  • Lack of Amenities: Contrary to expectations, one reviewer stated "No laundry room which they said there was, no amenities period," which is a significant point for those relying on such facilities.

  • Unlevel RV Parking: A practical concern raised is that the "RV parking is unlevel," which can make setting up and ensuring comfort in an RV challenging.

  • Speeding Enforcement Method: A very unusual and concerning method of "speed radar" using dogs (if they bark, you're going over 5 mph, followed by yelling) was reported, indicating an unconventional and potentially confrontational approach to park rules.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided customer reviews, Tindal & Young Ret. RV Park primarily stands out for its very affordable monthly rates. One reviewer explicitly mentioned a "cheap $250 month" rate, suggesting that the park's core offer is its low-cost long-term accommodation. This in itself serves as a significant "special offer" for those seeking budget-friendly extended stays, as many RV parks, especially near popular coastal areas, charge considerably more per month.

However, the reviews also highlight concerns about how additional costs, particularly for electricity, might accumulate and affect the overall "cheap" perception. While the base rate is low, previous guests have reported inconsistencies and higher-than-expected charges for utilities, which could offset the initial savings. There is no public information to suggest other specific promotions such as weekly discounts, seasonal deals, or discounts for specific groups (e.g., military, seniors). The park's business model seems to hinge on offering a very low base monthly fee.

Given the nature of the park and the feedback, prospective guests interested in the affordable monthly rate should proactively inquire about:

  • The exact monthly rate, including any variations based on site size or location.

  • A clear, written breakdown of electricity charges, including the per-kilowatt-hour rate, any administrative fees, and how billing is conducted, to avoid surprises.

  • Any other hidden fees or surcharges that might apply.

Direct communication with the park management before committing to a stay is highly recommended to clarify all costs and ensure transparency.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For some Alabama locals, particularly those seeking the absolute lowest possible monthly rate for an RV spot in the Foley area, Tindal & Young Ret. RV Park might initially appear suitable. The "cheap $250 month" base rate is undoubtedly attractive for budget-conscious individuals or those needing a long-term, no-frills parking solution. Its location in Foley offers proximity to the popular Gulf Shores and Orange Beach areas without the direct tourist hustle, providing a quieter local base from which to access coastal attractions.

However, it is critically important for locals to approach this option with tempered expectations and a clear understanding of the potential drawbacks highlighted by customer reviews. While the low upfront cost is a draw, concerns regarding potentially "unlevel" sites, alleged "overcharge for electric" with inconsistent rates, and a stated lack of advertised amenities like a laundry room are significant factors. Furthermore, severe complaints about "nasty attitude" from management, including "yelling and screaming about speeding" with an unconventional enforcement method, indicate a challenging interpersonal environment that may not be suitable for all. For locals, this park might best serve those who prioritize extreme affordability above all else, are highly self-sufficient regarding amenities, and are prepared to manage potential interpersonal and billing issues. It would be advisable for any interested local to visit the park in person and have a very direct and detailed conversation with management about all fees, rules, and available facilities before committing to a stay, especially for an extended period.

Nasty attitude towards the tennet and there guest. Yelling and screaming about speeding when they do not have a radar..I personally am starting a campaign to have them completely shut down seeing as though I work for city council. We here in Foley will not tolerate this treatment towards our fellow man and tax payers any longer.

My ole man and I stayed at this park for maybe two months they are a joke poor business ethics, they over charge for electric they charge everyone different kilowatt hours ours was . 22 cents per kilowatt hour most expensive of anyone there the rate is .10 they use there dogs as a speed radar if they bark when you pass by their trailer your going over 5 mph ! Then they come down and yell at you! No laundry room which they said there was, no amenities period the RV parking is unlevel , but hey you get what you pay for cheap 250 month but it all adds up by the time they stick it to you in electric over charges . We won't be staying again !
