Customer Reviews
We stayed here at the beginning of June. The campground is primarily for seasonal campers, but many of the seasonals had nice lots, with very few being run down. The area for the short-term guests was in an open field, and it looked like there was decent space between sites. The campground was quiet the first weekend in June, and when the seasonals went home for the week, it was really quiet. They did have an inexpensive honey wagon for emptying waste if needed, $20. The showers were clean but very small. The pool was open with heated water. We ordered the available Wi-Fi but could never connect, even after contacting the company (big disappointment). We still got charged, though. Tranquil Timbers was a great home base, but we spent much of our time sightseeing, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and eating at local establishments. See Tips & advice. We camped at Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort in a Motorhome. One of the things we loved about this campground is its short walking distance to Waterfront Mary's. We went to WM for their fish boil one night. They use cod instead of whitefish, and it was a great experience. Mike had great stories about the fish boil experience. We ate there another night and had their cod dinner, fish and chips, and the best chowder. I even got a bowl to take home. It was so good. -Get the wine trail map and have fun exploring the different wineries in Door County. We visited Egg Harbor (Stone's Throw Winery & Lautenbach's Orchard Country) and Baileys Landing (Lake Fire). -Stone Harbor Restaurant. Good-crusted Walleye and live bans on the patio overlooking the harbor bridge. -Shipwrecked Brew Pub for their meatloaf and then stopped over to the rooftop at the Mezzanine for the sunset over the harbor. -Kayaking at Cave Point and Potawatomi State Park. -Fishing for smallmouth bass out of Sister Bay & Ellison Bay Great week up here in Door County!
One of our favorite camp sites. We rented a cabin to have AC for our dogs, it was very clean and super easy access to the bathrooms which are by far the cleanest restrooms I've ever used in a campsite. We used the pool which was fun, and it looks like there's a lot of activities on the site to keep kids busy (playground, mini golf that they were actively repairing, tennis courts I think). Employees were very friendly and helpful with giving tips on where to visit while there. Loved it, will be sure to visit again.
We camped here in a class C for 3 nights. Our site was big and spacious, lots of seasonal camp sites. Campground is huge and close to the bay and hiking trail. My only complaint would be the rules, lots of them! We were told no fences for our dogs but the seasonal site behind us had a large fenced in area! The laundry is contradictory as there are 2 prices listed for a wash and of course it is the more expensive one. Overall I would recommend the campground, clean, quite and close to everything especially the wine tours.
Great location right outside of Sturgeon Bay. Nice pool and amenities. The campsites that are seasonal are very spacious and feels like a fun community. We stayed in the spaces dedicated for Thousand Trails. Our only complaint was the lack of cell service and the wifi was not good. Bath houses were nice and clean and the laundry area was also clean and all machines worked.
The staff was friendly. Grounds were well maintained. The pool and bathrooms were kept clean. I would consider staying here again. My only problem was that on the last night of my stay a camper entered the campground in the middle of the night. At 2:15 AM this camper drove past my site sounding like an entire classroom of children banging on pots and pans.
