Door County Jellystone Park is brimming with features and highlights that make it a premier family camping destination in Wisconsin.

  • Extensive Activity Program: The park excels at "scheduling activities that keep the kids entertained." Daily activities and themed weekends (e.g., Easter Eggstravaganza, Father's Day Weekend, Mardi Gras Weekend, Big Splash Pool Party) ensure there's always something engaging, often featuring Yogi Bear™, Boo Boo™, and Cindy Bear™ themselves.
  • Character Interactions: Children love interacting with Yogi Bear and friends through dance parties, wagon rides, foam parties, and even campsite birthday visits.
  • Variety of Recreation: Beyond structured activities, the abundance of recreational facilities—multiple pools (including a new kiddie pool), miniature golf, jump pad, barrel train, multiple playgrounds, and various sports courts—offers endless entertainment options for all ages.
  • Cleanliness and Quiet: The park is noted for being "clean and quiet at night," contributing to a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere despite the daytime activities.
  • Strategic Location: Its setting in Door County provides easy access to the region's natural beauty and attractions, including nearby beaches, state parks, charming towns, and fishing opportunities.
  • Accommodating Staff: Despite a booking error, the staff were apologetic and "still able to get us in," showing a commitment to customer service.
  • Established Reputation: Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Sturgeon Bay is the original Jellystone Park campground, with over 40 years of history, and its owners have received multiple "Operator of the Year" and "Excellence" awards from the Jellystone Park franchise system, indicating a track record of quality.
  • Natural Setting: Campsites are often semi-wooded, providing a pleasant, natural camping ambiance with fire pits and picnic tables.

While highly praised, it's worth noting areas for improvement, as highlighted in reviews:

  • Pool Size: Pools can be "quite small and jam packed" during peak times.
  • Connectivity: "Wifi is basically non-existent and cell service is spotty at best," which can be a significant drawback for guests relying on connectivity.
  • Smoking Policy in Common Areas: A notable concern is "too many people smoking heavily" at family activities like movies, dance places, and swimming, prompting a request for stricter non-smoking policies in common areas frequented by children and those with sensitivities. While Jellystone Parks typically prohibit smoking in common buildings and near entrances, enforcement at outdoor activity areas seems to be a concern.

We booked our site literally the night before but I made sure to confirm the dates before ending my phone call. We arrived to find the girl I had spoken to booked us for the same dates the next month. They apologized profusely but we're still able to get us in, which was much appreciated. Site was good, park was clean and quiet at night, and they do a great job of scheduling activities that keep the kids entertained. Wifi is basically non-existent and cell service is spotty at best, so please don't come with the expectation that you're going to be able to stream movies or things like that during incleme weather or at night (not that that was our goal). Pools are quite small and jam packed, but there's a great beach with shallow water less than a half mile from the campground. Overall, we did have a good experience and will probably be back.

Family loved this place! Would come back, the only thing that I would change is letting everyone open smoke cigarettes at all the family fun things there, the movies, the dance place, the swimming, too many people smoking heavily, family members have died because of this second hand smoke, and some people have allergies and asthma, plz consider making it non smoking, except in their own camp area! The children shouldn’t be allowed in this ,

The best campground around if you are looking for a fun, family atmosphere. Campgrounds over the years have evolved over the years to make people like my family feel like we don't belong ($$$$$). Jellystone is the one place where you can pitch a tent, have a pop-up, or drive a 60k rv and still all feel like equals just ready to spend quality time with those you love. The staff is amazing, and the facilities are well maintained. Whether your swimming in one of the pools, going for a ride on your bike, or hanging out at the Pavillion for an activity there is always something to do. One of my favorite things is that they do NOT allow golf carts etc. I've been other places where people are drunk and driving and it becomes really dangerous. I love seeing families walking together or seeing groups of kids that have become friends just for the weekend biking together. The place definitely brings people back to the times I fondly remember where we had face to face interactions and enjoyed eachothers company without technology driving every moment. If you want a good, wholesome, fun atmosphere... this is the place to go!

Went tent camping for 2 nights 3 days. They advertise a bounce pad but they didn’t set it up any of the days we were there. We asked every day and they wouldn’t. The store is so overpriced. They charge for the arts and crafts activities and the mini golf is very expensive. The playgrounds are very rundown and falling apart. Nothing is maintained. The only nice thing was the pools. They also advertise barrel rides and that wasn’t happening either. The only thing to do at this campground is use the pools.

It's a nice enough campground. The pool is nice and the camp store and activities check all the boxes. The bathrooms are plentiful and in pretty good shape. My biggest complaint is the campsites. The ground is very rocky and with trees it is difficult to find a site that can accomodate multiple tents. We made it work, but to get up two tents on the site took a lot of work and swearing. We very nearly left when we got there to find a better place.
