Fullers Resort and Campground, situated at 1622 E Clear Lake Rd, Buchanan, MI 49107, USA, is more than just a place to pitch a tent or park an RV; it's a piece of Michigan's recreational history. For decades, it has served as a cherished spot for families and individuals looking to connect with nature and enjoy the tranquility of Clear Lake. The resort and campground are known for their picturesque setting, offering direct access to the lake for swimming, fishing, and boating. Visitors consistently praise the friendliness of the staff, noting their welcoming demeanor as a significant highlight of their stay. As one happy customer remarked, "The staff are super friendly, and the beach area is nicely kept." This dedication to guest experience, coupled with the natural beauty of the surroundings, makes Fullers Resort and Campground a compelling choice for those seeking a classic Michigan camping adventure. It’s a place where childhood memories are made, and the simple joys of lakeside living are celebrated.
Fullers Resort and Campground is conveniently located at 1622 E Clear Lake Rd, Buchanan, MI 49107, USA, placing it within easy reach for many residents across Michigan. Buchanan, a charming city in Berrien County, is situated in the southwestern part of the state, not far from the Indiana border. This makes Fullers an accessible destination for those coming from Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, or even the greater Chicago area, offering a convenient escape without requiring extensive travel. The campground's specific location on Clear Lake means direct lake access, a major draw for water enthusiasts.
However, it's worth noting some specific considerations regarding accessibility within the campground, particularly for RV campers. As one review highlighted, "for RV camping, I'd suggest going somewhere else. The sites are really tight, and the lanes through the campground are narrow and sometimes blocked by parked vehicles." This suggests that larger RVs might find maneuvering challenging. The same reviewer also pointed out issues with specific sites, mentioning "construction sand is layered over boggy ground on these sites, and it's a mess" for sites like 100A and 100B. Furthermore, the dump station's location was noted as being "right in the center of the campground on a hill, not at the exit. It is hard to get to, and we couldn't completely empty our tanks because the RV was on a tilt." While these are important considerations for RV owners, these details don't detract from the overall appeal for tent campers, who often praise the "lovely tent sites" and the opportunity to bike around the scenic grounds. Despite these specific points, the general location near Buchanan provides easy access to local amenities and attractions for all visitors.
- Tent Camping: Fullers Resort and Campground is particularly well-suited for tent campers, offering scenic and spacious sites that are reportedly very enjoyable.
- RV Camping: While RV sites are available, potential RV campers should be aware that sites can be tight and lanes narrow, which may present challenges for larger rigs. Specific sites like 100A and 100B have been noted for ground conditions that might be less than ideal.
- Lake Access & Beach Area: The campground boasts direct access to Clear Lake, featuring a "nicely kept" beach area for swimming and relaxation.
- Fishing: Anglers will appreciate the opportunities for fishing directly from the pier, a popular activity enjoyed by many, including children.
- Boat Rentals: While not explicitly detailed, it's common for lakeside resorts to offer boat rentals for guests to explore the lake. Inquire directly with the campground for availability and types of rentals.
- Camp Store: There is a camp store on-site for convenience. However, it's been noted that "they have the most expensive camp store I’ve ever been in," so planning ahead for supplies might be beneficial.
- Restrooms & Showers: Standard campground amenities likely include restrooms and shower facilities for campers' convenience.
- Play Areas: Based on family-oriented reviews, it's probable there are areas for children to play, though specific details are not provided.
- Biking Trails: The campground offers biking opportunities, with reviews mentioning "biking trails" that are enjoyable for campers.
- Clear Lake Access: The prime feature is undoubtedly direct access to Clear Lake, providing opportunities for swimming, fishing, and enjoying water sports.
- Well-Maintained Beach: The beach area is noted for being "nicely kept," offering a pleasant spot for sunbathing and water activities.
- Excellent Fishing: The pier is a popular spot for fishing, with visitors, especially children, enjoying success.

- Biking Opportunities: The presence of biking trails within or adjacent to the campground provides an active way to explore the surroundings.
- Family-Oriented Atmosphere: The campground appears to cater well to families, with activities like fishing off the pier being popular among children.
Based on the provided customer review, Fullers Resort and Campground may have specific policies and additional fees, particularly during holiday weekends. One reviewer noted, "We wanted two nights on Memorial Day weekend, but had to pay for three, and there were several other extra fees added because it was a holiday." This suggests that holiday periods might incur minimum stay requirements and additional charges.
Furthermore, a unique aspect mentioned was being "charged an extra daily fee because we had 4 kids instead of 2. I've NEVER been to a campground that charges extra for children." This indicates that Fullers might have a base rate for a certain number of occupants (e.g., 2 adults and 2 children) with additional fees for extra individuals, including children, beyond that base.
Given these observations, it is highly recommended to:
- Inquire about Holiday Minimum Stays and Fees: Always confirm if there are minimum night requirements or surcharges for booking during holidays or special events.
- Clarify Occupancy Charges: Before booking, explicitly ask about their policy on additional guests, especially children, and any associated daily fees beyond the base rate.
- Ask About Package Deals: While not explicitly mentioned, it's always worth asking if they offer any package deals for longer stays or specific amenities.
- Check for Off-Season Rates: If you're flexible, inquire about potential lower rates or special offers during the off-peak season.
The best way to understand current promotions and ensure a transparent booking experience is to contact Fullers Resort and Campground directly via phone or by reviewing their official website if available.

Customer Reviews
The staff are super friendly, and the beach area is nicely kept. Our boys enjoyed fishing off the pier. This campground is probably great if you're tent camping; we biked around some lovely tent sites. However, for RV camping, I'd suggest going somewhere else. The sites are really tight, and the lanes through the campground are narrow and sometimes blocked by parked vehicles. You will especially want to avoid sites 100A and 100B. Construction sand is layered over boggy ground on these sites, and it's a mess. We wanted two nights on Memorial Day weekend, but had to pay for three, and there were several other extra fees added because it was a holiday. On top of that, we were charged an extra daily fee because we had 4 kids instead of 2. I've NEVER been to a campground that charges extra for children. Also, be aware that the dump station is right in the center of the campground on a hill, not at the exit. It is hard to get to, and we couldn't completely empty our tanks because the RV was on a tilt.
Great place, great people, adorable camping, But they have the most expansive camp store I’ve ever been in.
Me my and kids loved it primitive 193 is pretty much by its self. Great camping spot.
Amazing place! The scenery is beautiful it is so calming and peaceful over there. My family and I had an amazing time, I definitely would love to come in the summer time. It is also very clean and the staff are super helpful and friendly. I noticed comments were saying they were not nice and the place isn't clean, but I wouldn't listen to them overall it was an amazing stay!
Old campground but extremely clean and well kept. Beach is very nice. Staff is AWESOME! Some of the roads are a bit tight but manageable. Pretty quiet after hours. Sites are nice size. Dump station is difficult but they offer a mobile flush service for $30. We will stay there again.
