For West Virginians and visitors looking for a straightforward, peaceful, and well-maintained camping experience, Triple L Campground in Salem, WV, offers an appealing option. Often, campers seek a retreat that prioritizes tranquility and convenience over a multitude of elaborate amenities. Triple L Campground perfectly embodies this philosophy, providing a "small, pleasant, well kept" environment where "no drama" is the norm and relaxation is paramount.

What truly sets Triple L Campground apart, as highlighted by satisfied guests, is the personal touch and genuine hospitality provided by the owner, consistently described as "extremely nice and friendly." This dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere ensures that every stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Furthermore, its direct adjacency to the State Trail system is a significant draw for outdoor enthusiasts, offering seamless access to walking, biking, and exploring the natural beauty of the region. While some campgrounds boast extensive facilities, Triple L focuses on delivering a quiet, clean, and convenient base for your West Virginia adventures, proving that sometimes, less is truly more when it comes to a genuinely relaxing outdoor escape. It's an ideal spot for those who value peace, cleanliness, and friendly service.

Location and Accessibility

Triple L Campground is conveniently located at 118 Bristol Rd., Salem, WV 26426, USA. This address places it in Harrison County, a region in West Virginia known for its scenic beauty and small-town charm. Salem itself is a quaint community that provides essential local amenities, ensuring campers have access to necessities during their stay.

One of the most significant highlights of Triple L Campground's location is its direct adjacency and parallel alignment with the State Trail system. This is an unparalleled feature for outdoor enthusiasts, offering immediate access to miles of scenic pathways for walking, running, or cycling. The trail system reportedly goes right into downtown Salem, providing a convenient way for campers to explore the local town without needing to drive.

In terms of broader accessibility, the campground normally boasts "Easy access to Rte 50," a major east-west highway in West Virginia. This makes Triple L Campground a highly convenient stopover or destination for travelers coming from various directions within the state or from neighboring states. While current public information notes temporary inconvenience due to "long term bridge construction" impacting direct access to Route 50, typically, the connectivity is excellent. This might mean a slightly more circuitous route for now, but the overall convenience of reaching the campground from major thoroughfares remains a strong point.

Despite some mention of "hwy noise," which is often a trade-off for convenient access, reviewers have indicated they "overlook that because of the convenience of location." This suggests that the benefits of being near essential routes and the State Trail system outweigh minor ambient sounds. The location offers a practical balance for campers who appreciate both natural recreation and easy access to services and transportation networks in West Virginia.

Services Offered

Triple L Campground focuses on providing essential services that enhance the comfort and convenience of its guests, prioritizing a straightforward and pleasant camping experience. While it may not boast an exhaustive list of elaborate amenities, the services it does offer are well-maintained and highly valued by visitors.

  • RV Sites: The campground primarily caters to RVs, offering designated sites suitable for various sizes of recreational vehicles. While specific hookup details (e.g., water, electric, sewer) are not explicitly listed in the reviews, it's standard for RV parks to provide these basic utility connections to ensure a comfortable stay for RV owners.
  • Tent Camping: In addition to RV spaces, Triple L Campground also "allows tent camping." This makes it a versatile option for different types of campers, from those with full-sized RVs to those who prefer the traditional experience of pitching a tent.
  • Laundry Facilities: A highly practical service offered is the on-site laundry. The campground provides "2 washers/dryers," which is a significant convenience for campers, especially those on longer trips or seasonal stays, allowing them to refresh their clothes without leaving the park.
  • Picnic Area: There is "one picnic table under a small pavilion," providing a designated, sheltered space for campers to enjoy meals outdoors, socialize, or simply relax away from their individual sites. This common area adds to the community feel.
  • Basic Restroom Access: While specific details are limited, reviews mention "bathroom you have to go east about 5 miles to Sandy's on left. Or go in to Salem to gas stations or businesses that allow that service." This indicates that while there might not be extensive, full-service bathhouses directly on-site, nearby public facilities are accessible. Campers should plan accordingly for restroom and shower needs, utilizing options outside the immediate campground.
  • Friendly Owner Interaction: Although not a physical service, the owner's "extremely nice and friendly" demeanor is a consistent highlight. This personal touch and helpfulness are an invaluable part of the overall service experience, contributing significantly to guest satisfaction.

Triple L Campground's services are geared towards providing a functional, clean, and welcoming environment for campers who appreciate simplicity and direct access to outdoor recreation. Prospective campers are encouraged to contact the campground directly for the most current information on site-specific hookups and amenities.

Small. Pleasant. Well kept. No drama, during stay. Owner is extremely nice and friendly. I love that it's parallel to the State Trail system. It goes right into downtown Salem. Laundry 2 washers/dryers and one picnic table under a small pavilion are the only amenities. Normally there's Easy access to Rte 50. Unfortunately long term bridge construction makes it a bit more inconvenient. Some hwy noise but I over look that because of the convenience of location.

Eric (the owner) was super helpful & very personable. Sites are FHU gravel but level, with plenty of space between to park. We didn't have opportunity to use the laundry facilities but they were very clean. The entire grounds were well kept & Eric was around regularly to check on things & answer any questions. The location is right off rt.50, with easy access into Clarksburg/Bridgeport, etc. We definitely recommend Triple L & look forward to returning on our next trip through the area. Thanks so much, Eric for your genuine WV hospitality!
