This article will delve into the offerings of Twin Points Campground, providing a comprehensive overview for Oklahomans planning their next outdoor adventure.
Twin Points Campground is conveniently located in Skiatook, OK 74070, USA, directly on the shores of Skiatook Lake. This prime location places it within easy reach of several population centers in Oklahoma, making it a readily accessible getaway for many locals. Skiatook is a growing community situated just north of Tulsa, meaning residents of the Tulsa metropolitan area can reach the campground with a relatively short and straightforward drive.
The accessibility of Twin Points is a significant advantage. Its proximity to Skiatook ensures that campers can easily acquire any last-minute supplies, groceries, or necessities from town. The well-maintained roads leading to the campground accommodate RVs and trailers of all sizes, making arrival hassle-free. Being on Skiatook Lake, renowned for its clear waters and recreational opportunities, means campers have immediate access to a vast natural playground. This combination of convenient location and direct lake access makes Twin Points Campground an ideal and popular choice for Oklahomans seeking an outdoor escape that doesn't require extensive travel.
Twin Points Campground offers a range of services designed to support a comfortable and active camping experience, particularly catering to RV and tent campers who enjoy being near the water.
-
RV and Tent Sites: The campground provides designated sites suitable for both recreational vehicles and traditional tent camping, accommodating various preferences.
-
Electric Hookups: Sites typically come with electric hookups, essential for RVs to power their amenities. While water hookups might need to be shared with a neighbor (requiring a splitter for the spigot, as noted by a camper), electricity is generally available at individual pads.
-
Level Pads: Many of the campsite pads are described as "mostly level," which is a significant convenience for RVers, simplifying the setup process and ensuring a stable foundation for their vehicle.
-
Restroom Facilities: Toilets are available in the campground. However, it's important to note that some reviews mention a lack of electricity (and thus lights) in the restrooms, so campers should be prepared with flashlights for nighttime use.
-
Boat Ramp: A "nice easy to get your boat in the water" boat ramp is a major service for boating enthusiasts, providing direct access to Skiatook Lake for various water activities.
-
Abundant Firewood: The presence of "oak trees EVERYWHERE" implies a good source of firewood, allowing campers to easily build campfires for warmth, cooking, and ambiance.
-
No Trash Cans in Campgrounds: It's crucial for campers to be aware that, as per a customer review, there might not be trash cans within the campgrounds or near the toilets. Visitors should plan to pack out their trash or locate designated disposal areas, which may be at the park entrance or a central dump station if available (though a lack of trash cans near a dump station was also mentioned).
Twin Points Campground is characterized by several features and highlights that draw in visitors, particularly those who enjoy an active and social lakeside camping experience.
-
Skiatook Lake Access and Views: The primary highlight is direct access to the beautiful Skiatook Lake. Many sites offer lake views, and the ability to easily get into the water for swimming, boating, and fishing is a major draw. The lake is described as "beautiful" and large enough to accommodate many visitors, even on busy weekends.
-
Excellent Playground: The campground boasts a "great half court basketball court" and a "big and pretty cool" children's park. This playground is described as "full of fun things to do," making it a significant asset for families with children and contributing to the campground's overall family-friendly atmosphere.
-
Boating Convenience: The "nice easy to get your boat in the water" boat ramp is a standout feature for boat owners, simplifying the process of enjoying Skiatook Lake.
-
Abundant Green Space: The presence of numerous oak trees provides shade and a natural setting, creating a pleasant outdoor environment.
-
Popular and Bustling Atmosphere: While some prefer quiet, the fact that "weekends are pretty busy" and the lake is "so big that there is plenty of room for everyone" suggests a lively and social atmosphere, which can be a highlight for those who enjoy meeting other campers and being part of a vibrant outdoor community.
-
Opportunities for Walking: The park area provides ample space for walking around, as noted by a camper who enjoyed getting their steps in, promoting light exercise and exploration within the campground.
It is important for prospective campers to be aware of certain aspects mentioned in reviews, such as potential crowding on weekends, a challenging sandstone shoreline that requires careful navigation to avoid twisting an ankle when accessing the water, and occasional issues with noise levels from other campers, particularly after quiet hours, which are not always enforced. The absence of trash cans in the camping areas also requires visitors to plan accordingly for waste disposal.
As a public campground, Twin Points Campground typically operates with standard fee structures and may not frequently offer "promotions" in the commercial sense. The value comes from its competitive daily rates for direct lake access and amenities. Pricing for campsites usually varies based on site type (e.g., electric-only, water/electric), and whether it's a tent or RV site.
Campers should anticipate daily or nightly rates that are generally affordable for publicly managed campgrounds in Oklahoma. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on pricing and any potential discounts, it is always recommended to:
-
Check Online Reservation Systems: Many public campgrounds on Corps of Engineers lakes utilize platforms like Recreation.gov. These sites will list the current rates, availability, and specific amenities for each campsite.
-
Inquire About Federal Discounts: Holders of America the Beautiful - National Parks & Federal Recreational Lands Passes (such as Senior Passes or Access Passes) may be eligible for discounts on camping fees. It's always worth asking about these at the time of reservation or check-in.
-
Consider Weekday Stays: As reviews indicate weekends can be very busy, visiting during weekdays might offer a quieter experience and potentially better site availability, though not necessarily a lower price.
Direct contact with the campground through the provided phone number is the best way to confirm current rates and any specific policies that might affect your stay.

Customer Reviews
I have been going to this lake for almost 15 years and I have loved every single minute I was there, the playground is full of fun things to do, they have a great half court basketball court, the water is beautiful and not that full during the week days, the weekends are pretty busy but the lake is so big that there is plenty of room for everyone, the boat ramp is nice easy to get your boat in the water, I will DEFINITELY be coming here every single year and having an amazing time every time!
It's okay. There's no good way to get to the water and when you can, it's full - absolutely chock full - of sandstone. You have to pick your way along the shore to avoid twisting an ankle. There are no trash cans in the campgrounds. Not even by/near the toilets (which also have no electricity AKA LIGHTS) There are oak trees EVERYWHERE. This leads to lots of firewood, but also ticks, I'm sure, during the hot summer season. And when this place is FULL, it's ridiculously full. It's hard to drive through with a big truck (we have an F250) or camper with all the cars parked alongside the road next to the campsites. People get loud, after quiet time hours (I'm talking chopping wood and blaring music at 3am) and no one enforces anything. The pads are mostly level and that's nice. You have to share water with your neighbor, so bring a splitter for the spigot! The children's park is really nice, actually. Big and pretty cool. It was nice to get to walk around the park area, as many others did, to get some steps in. But.. we won't come back. Just too cramped and no easy access to the water. Seems there are some easy fixes to make it better, but as it is now, there are better places to camp with my family.
Beautiful campsite! Very clean and quiet! Beautiful views; that was a nice surprise! Staff there are very helpful and courteous; she changed my campsite to a better spot without me even asking, and it was the most gorgeous view (campsite 23 if you’re curious). Make sure to bring a super long hose; some neighbors will steal your spicket if it’s closer (because they didn’t bring a long hose either). Each site has a enclosed fire pit, charcoal grill, work table and picnic table. The main bathroom/shower house was clean and had hot showers. The other bathrooms that are closer to the campsite are basically modern outhouses with no electricity, just fyi (I had a ball laughing at my kids during the whole experience; at the end of the weekend it was an old hat to ‘em). There are cute little trails you can take down to the lake to fish and explore. This was the best camping experience I’ve ever had to be honest, we really enjoyed our stay there and will be back for sure!!
Very nice clean camping areas, playgrounds, bathroom facilities etcetera. Large individual campsites with closed fire pits, electric and water hookup, table and Grill. The people overseeing the campground were very friendly in courteous. I've never been here, I usually go to tall Chief Cove but I figured I would give this place a whirl. And I am glad I did. Me and my family had a great time and I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for someplace new to go.
This is always a beautiful campground with 50 amp service. Shower houses are clean. Volunteers are so friendly here! I wish checkout time was back to original times and later.
