Mississippi offers a unique charm with its rich cultural heritage, welcoming communities, and a lifestyle that often prioritizes comfort and affordability. For many Mississippians, finding a place to live that balances these aspects can lead them to explore mobile home communities. These parks often provide a more accessible entry point into independent living or homeownership, fostering a sense of neighborhood camaraderie that can be deeply appealing. In Starkville, MS, a dynamic city known for being home to Mississippi State University, University Hills Mobile Home Park stands as an option for those seeking such a residential setting. This article aims to provide an objective and informative overview of University Hills Mobile Home Park, helping local users in Mississippi learn more about this established community.
The choice to live in a mobile home park in Mississippi often stems from a desire for practical, cost-effective housing solutions. Manufactured homes can offer a more budget-friendly alternative to traditional stick-built houses, both in terms of initial purchase price (or rent) and ongoing expenses. Beyond the financial considerations, many mobile home parks cultivate a distinct community atmosphere, where residents can form connections with neighbors and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life. This can be particularly appealing for students, young professionals, or families looking for a stable base without the extensive commitments of traditional homeownership. While individual experiences can vary, the goal of a mobile home park is to provide a structured environment that supports comfortable and affordable living. University Hills Mobile Home Park, with its history in Starkville, offers a specific set of characteristics that prospective residents will want to consider as they explore their housing options in the area.
University Hills Mobile Home Park, located at 1033 MS-182, Starkville, MS 39759, USA, is an established mobile home community in a key Mississippi college town. Customer reviews paint a nuanced picture of the park, highlighting both its historical appeal and current challenges. One review lamented a perceived decline, stating, "I was born and raised in Starkville and this use 2 be one of the most exquisite trailer parks in Starkville. 800.00 for rent. Do better it's such an eye sore." This suggests that while it once held a higher aesthetic standard, it may currently face maintenance issues that impact its visual appeal.
Conversely, another review provided a more detailed account of a resident's experience, noting some positive aspects such as the office staff ("The lady that works at the office is a great woman") and maintenance responsiveness ("I had to use maintenance once and they replaced my screen door handle"). This review also mentioned specific issues like bed bugs upon move-in (which the resident personally resolved), inconsistent billing for security deposits, and a need for road repair. Despite these challenges, the resident noted that "The rent is not bad and where I lived the neighbors weren't bad," and highlighted effective central air conditioning. This suggests that while there are areas for improvement, certain aspects of living at University Hills Mobile Home Park can be positive for residents. The park offers mobile home rentals, making it an option for those seeking a managed housing solution in Starkville.

Starkville, as the home of Mississippi State University (MSU), is a dynamic and central hub in Northeast Mississippi.
The accessibility benefits of living at University Hills include:
-
Proximity to Mississippi State University (MSU): Its location on MS-182 (also known as Russell Street) means the park is very close to the MSU campus. Customer Reviews
Have been looking 4 a trailer 2 rent so I road by this trailer park and I gasped. Omg it is horrific. I was born and raised in Starkville and this use 2 be one of the most exquisite trailer parks in Starkville. 800.00 for rent. Do better it's such a eye sore.
The lady that works at the office is a great woman. I had to use maintenance once and they replaced my screen door handle. I had bed bugs in my unit when i moved in but I kill them for a living so I got that resolved in a week... I am a bit upset I was charged a full month rent when my lease ended on the 1st of the month. Also I never received my security deposit. The rent is not bad and where I lived the neighbors weren't bad. Sometimes people would drive by with loud bass so there's that. The road is awful and needs repair. My place had central air that worked very well.
This living property has tremendously gone down over the years, and it's nearly impossible residing here. Repairs have been needed for the past 4 months, yet nothing is repaired because of a dilemna with maintenance. I'm scared that we'll eventually trip and fall since the floors are unleveled throughout the hallway and kitchen. In addition, nails can be visibly seen sticking out of the kitchen floor so walking without shoes is impossible. There are holes large enough for rats to enter near the front door and next to the stove. I don't recommend moving to this property, and I'm seeking a new residence at this time. I have continuosly paid rent (which is expected regardless of needed repairs) on time every month, yet repairs are not made.
I would NEVER suggest this place to anyone. It was filthy when we moved in, they are slow to repair things. A small child's could fit through opening in the front door and the bedroom doors with the shotty frame work on all doorways. I hate living here and cannot wait to leave. I promise you, it will be in better condition when I move out than it was when I move in and University Hills should add to our deposit before refunding. Don't live here if you can help it.
There is NO on-site maintenance or manager. The same things keep needing repair and it takes forever to get them fixed. They want rent on time BUT do not fix things in timely manner. They put things off instead of fixing when it's an emergency and are always saying the maintenance man is gone. How is he gone when he is suppose to be living on site..
