Customer Reviews
My family and I were driving to Montgomery, while in the midst of the drive I was getting sleepy. I googled "campground near me" and came across A-ok. I pulled into a front vacant lot around midnight and saw a dog barking, which made the gentleman come outside. He was the owner. He was very friendly (and sleepy lol) and allowed for me to stay. I was very thakful for that. The next morning, his son approached my camper and we handled the payment. They accommodated my stay wonderfully. I appreciate them for being so kind and thoughtful. I will actually plan a stay next time. The wife mentioned that she will give my boys and I a tour on their campground. They have longhorns and other awesome sites to explore. Thank you guys for being such a great family owned campground. ❤️
Don't be fooled by first impressions, not all the pads are paved and the roads aren't paved but they make up for it in so many ways. The management will bend over backwards to make your stay a pleasant one. This is a very quiet campground, no late night parties. My kind of place.
pulled in on the 1st o the year, the daughter was very nice and took us to the only lot the owner said he had for me, (my 1st red flag) they put me beside some girl with a huge dog inside barking all day then came home at 10pm and commenced to play with her big dog inside, between 10pm and 2am every single night I was terrifyingly awoken by noises that sounded like an angry bear right outside my camper tearing up my porch, it took me two weeks to figure out where the NOISE was coming from, I even mentioned it 3x to their son, he told me to get pictures?? of what NOISE? Then they park a couple on the other side that had 5 dogs, inside all day long, and when they took them out to potty, they immediately walked all 5 dogs on leash right on over to my kitchen side of lot, 2nd time the dog went right on the ground outside our truck drive door, I mentioned that to owner about poop piles in the direct line of my service lines, it took a month and a half to finally get moved away from the nuisance with the big dog, and the other side stopped their madness. I end up in a lot on roadside, and knew right away it wasn't going to work for me because his yearly are so coddled they ignore the speed limit, choking me all day long with their dust, ( intentional obvious) the good tenants here respect the 5mph obviously because they see the dust the long timers make speeding by. I had attempted to be nice about the altercations but the owner allows the problems to escalate and takes his full timers side of any issue with other tenants, and upon reading the many others that match my experience I'd say the real liars are the ones reviewing simply for damage control, the long timers act like this is all they got so you bet they ain't leaving, while their RV literally falls down around them, and I wonder how RVing got to be so stressful and expensive because of these type of places. I have no qualms with those who are seeking a better life, but those who stay with the madness and have protection to boot? I already planned on not staying any longer than needed to change out campers and I called in advance to avoid any issues with my transaction asking them specifically what their protocol was, well they told all of us on my phone over speaker that day in an office of others who heard what was said, the next day we tried to get them to honor their words, they changed up, held up my RV transport for 2 hours because you are not allowed to park until the park people are there, nothing like telling someone what you're up to so they can make sure it doesn't happen without major issues, I am not the only one who heard them mince their words, and the atmosphere was awfully obvious they were NOT here to help but to hinder, they cost a business man delays in his work that day, and customers suffered as a result. now today on April 16 I wake up to no power, I go out side to see if my meter was on I see my power line laying in the ground, so these people try to destroy your stuff too. and don't bother trying to tell them, they are weak character and blame the victim for their own folly. The day my friend and I were out fixing up my yard, some long timer comes wandering right through us so enamored with his cell up in his face his dog was dragging him along, I said nothing till his dog began to poop right there next to the tree he almost ran into had I not yelled and said don't let your dog shit right here in my yard where we are sitting, the guy didn't even realize where he was so dam stuck on his cell, he commenced to harass me a he walked further away I guess to get a response so he could illegally record me and obviously edited it to fit a narrative so bad that the owner verbally attacked me in the office, I should have had him arrested, and it seems all they will believe is media, for ones word with them against those who harm will only make life more miserable until your gone, it's big club here and I want no part of it, and not a one would do this all on their own, it's a community hood, cheap, very cheap!! get my drift
This was a great campground. Looks a little rustic on first sight. I hosted our RV group there for a week and everyone enjoyed the campground. The owners were very nice and even took us in a tour of their head of longhorn cattle.
If you need a cheap place for short term then take your chances. Keep your stuff locked up and be careful of the full timers. Not family friendly and there is nothing to do here. You get what you pay for. We watched a guy and girl get served warrants in our area. Guns out and k9 dog. They have strict "rules" but only enforce when the owner doesn't want to be lazy. There are life lingers there and anyone traveling knows how awful that is. Many people told us who live there full time HATE the owners but put up with them because it's cheap. Photo of felon wanted who was arrested. I have the full video if you need more proof. I am pretty sure most of the "great" reviews are from Larry and Cats family and friends. Safe travels . SHALOM
