Bear Lake Campground provides a range of services aimed at making the camping experience comfortable and enjoyable, whether you're staying for a weekend or a longer period. Under new ownership, there's an ongoing effort to refine and enhance these offerings.
- Campsites (RV & Tent): The campground offers various campsites, accommodating both recreational vehicles and traditional tent camping. Specific details on hookups (water, electric, sewer) should be confirmed when booking, though many campgrounds in this region offer essential hookups for RVs.
- On-Site Bar & Grill: A significant amenity is the presence of an on-site bar and grill. This provides a convenient option for meals, drinks, and a social gathering spot, creating a friendly atmosphere for campers and locals alike.
- Restrooms & Showers: Basic restroom and shower facilities are available. While one review noted an isolated issue with a shower, the general expectation at a campground of this type is to provide functional and reasonably maintained facilities for guest convenience.
- Office/Check-in Services: An office is available for check-in and assistance, with customer feedback noting "office lady was very helpful getting us checked in."
- Community & Social Atmosphere: The campground fosters a sense of community, particularly evident in the bar/grill area, where staff and other campers can feel "like old friends." This social aspect is a key 'service' for many visitors.

It's important to note the feedback regarding "COMMUNICATION was horrible" and issues with food availability and event information. This suggests that while efforts are underway, prospective campers might benefit from clear communication directly with the office regarding specific event details, food service hours, and any other pertinent information for their stay. However, the overall sentiment points to a campground actively working to improve its guest experience.
Bear Lake Campground, despite some operational challenges noted in a review, possesses several strong features and highlights that make it an attractive destination, especially for those seeking a tranquil and social camping experience in Wisconsin.

Customer Reviews
Our first time camping here for Blatz fest weekend with friends. Not a bad campground overall. Bathroom shower ate my $ and didn't give me water :( Office lady was very helpful getting us checked in. Very sad part is COMUNICATION was horrible both Friday night and Saturday. They were none of SMELT fish left and hours later was told and that if I ordered something else it'll be another 40 mins after 2 hours of waiting. After we placed our order, salads, cheese and 1 kind of soup was completely empty. Cucumber and tomatos had like 3 pieces left...Saturday no one knew where the sign up table was. No one running the table knew what time the sat event starts. I also found out that this placed has been running by new owners for 2 years now. I would think they got them issues resolved by now or let's hope that thise issues are fixed.
This place is beautiful and quiet during the week. We came here for a few days and decided to stay the whole week, then booked a week in Sept! The owners and staff do all that they can to make us feel welcome, and the bar/grill feels like old friends. The tiny towns nearby are also full of nice people and great to visit.
Wisconsin's premier "up north" campground is full of fun and surprises! We love the lake and the friendly warm bar area where we enjoy a bluegrass Festival in October to raise funds for the Future Farmers of America😊
Awesome beach area near the bar. Very shallow and sandy bottom that goes out very far. If you bring your kids I would recommend water shoes as there is a type of shell that lives on the bottom that you will step on. We had the lakefront double site, closest to the tiki beach. My 27ft and another 24ft camper fit. The 24ft took some careful driving but would be very good for multiple tents as long as it doesn't rain. Very wooded and shaded. Has a gate in front of it so you can keep little ones in and they won't wander out. Whole campground is very mature stand of pine, oak, and maple trees, word of caution if severe weather comes in as trees have been know to fall on equipment. All in all very great campground.
Great place with awesome people! The owners are great, very caring people, and the bartenders and wait staff go all out to make you comfortable and well fed.
