Beaver Creek Resort About

For Michiganders seeking a versatile and engaging resort experience throughout the year, Beaver Creek Resort in Gaylord stands as a prominent option. Situated amidst the natural beauty of Northern Michigan, this resort aims to cater to a wide range of visitors, from RV enthusiasts to those preferring the comforts of a cabin. While the provided reviews highlight some areas for improvement during specific seasons, the resort's commitment to offering diverse accommodations and amenities positions it as a potential hub for four-season adventures in the "Alpine Village."

Beaver Creek Resort prides itself on being a destination that can adapt to Michigan's distinct seasons. Whether you're looking for a summer base to explore the lakes and trails, or a winter retreat with direct access to snowmobiling, the resort strives to provide the facilities and environment for a memorable stay. Its location near Otsego Lake and the extensive trail systems makes it particularly appealing to outdoor adventurers.

Customer reviews offer a candid look at guest experiences. One visitor noted the positive aspects of their cabin rental, highlighting the "really cool" cabin and the pleasant indoor pool and hot tub. However, they also pointed out areas needing attention, such as the "run down" playground and mini-golf, and perceived lack of staff awareness regarding the waterslide's operation. Another review, from September 2024, mentioned finding the "office and camp store were closed" and that "campsites were very small and way too close together," concluding they wouldn't bring their camper but might consider a cabin. This feedback suggests that while the cabins and indoor facilities hold promise, the resort's operational consistency and the nature of the RV sites might be points for consideration, especially outside of peak summer. It emphasizes the importance of checking current operational status and confirming site specifics before booking, particularly for RVers.

Location and Accessibility

Beaver Creek Resort is conveniently located at 5004 W Otsego Lake Dr, Gaylord, MI 49735, USA. This prime address places it right on the west side of Otsego Lake, a popular all-sports lake in Northern Michigan. For winter enthusiasts, being on a major snowmobile trail is a huge draw, allowing direct access to hundreds of miles of groomed trails.

The cabin we rented was really cool! The indoor pool and hot tub were nice. The playground and mini golf were really run down. They didn't advertise the game room as open after memorial day. the staff on site have been unaware of what's going on with the waterslide. I'd say the trip was kind of a flop. It was nice that it wasn't super busy because it's their slow season but It's not worth it to come before summer.

9/17/24 The office and camp store were closed. The indoor pool looked wonderful. The campsites were very small and way to close together. Didn't see inside any of the cabins but, the out was beautiful. Needless to say, I will not be pulling my camper there. My awning would almost hang into the site next to me. I may however, rent a cabin. Depending on cost. The water slide didn't appear to be open but, it did look like fun. Sorry I couldn't give a better review.

We had a lot of fun. A couple things I am only commenting on because I wish I had known…I was told I didn’t need to bring coffee or silverware and that the cabin slept 6 comfortably. Well we were here four days but there’s only coffee for two (we went to purchase some at the convenience store/office and were told they no longer carry it but have coffee filters 🤔….also had charcoal but no lighter fluid). And for silverware it was okay because there was four us and an infant BUT if you have more than four people you’d want to bring some. There’s only four forks and four spoons. The living room (cabin 2321) only had a small loveseat so only two could sit. This wasn’t a huge deal because we were outside a lot. Just worth noting. All of those small things aside we had a blast at this location! The pool was very clean, putt putt was free & the kids had a BLAST on the slide!! If you’re wanting to rent a golf cart get one asap because we went Saturday morning and they were all gone.

Beautiful campground in a perfect spot. The sites are nice and well-maintained. Lots of full hook-ups. It has a great hot tub, sauna and pool. There’s a mini golf course, water slide, pickleball courts, dog park, and lots of nice facilities. It feels very safe and secure. It’s right in Gaylord and it’s a reasonable driving distance from Petoskey, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Hartwick Pines, Mackinaw, etc. 100% recommend!

First time camping here. Nice paved site, only used pool area, shower area was well kept but shower control panel needs to be repaired. Past labor day so water slide was closed . Enjoyed our time there, will be back.
