Promotions or Special Offers:
Hankerd's Horseshoe Lake Campground, being a privately owned and operated facility, does not publicly advertise traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the way large chains might. Their primary appeal and ongoing "special offer" come from the exceptional value and unique amenities they provide as part of their standard camping experience. The complimentary use of their pontoon boat, kayaks, and canoes on Horseshoe Lake is a significant added value that sets them apart from many other campgrounds and essentially acts as an ongoing promotion. This saves campers the cost and hassle of renting or bringing their own watercraft.
Furthermore, the personalized laser-carved wooden site plaque that each family receives to keep is a distinctive and memorable offering that serves as a unique benefit of staying at Hankerd's. While not a monetary discount, these thoughtful touches significantly enhance the camping experience and contribute to the campground's overall value proposition.
For specific pricing, availability, and any potential deals on extended stays or off-season rates (though not explicitly stated, these are common practices for private campgrounds), it is always best to contact the owners directly. Their friendly and accommodating nature, as widely praised in reviews, suggests they would be happy to discuss options or any unadvertised benefits with potential guests. The true "promotion" at Hankerd's is the consistent delivery of a superior, family-focused camping experience with incredible hospitality and added amenities.

Customer Reviews
This turned out to be one of those happy accidents! We were in route to another location but got caught up on traffic further south. Since it was a weekend, and last minute I did not expect to find anything. Reluctantly I called anyway. I was greeted by one of the owners and he turned out to be so friendly and accommodating. They were able to get us in right away and even had an adorable little wooden plaque made up for our site by the time we made it. The site was perfect! The campground is small enough to have privacy but big enough to not feel alone. They have beautiful walking trails that went down to a lake. There was also a pontoon boat and several kayaks and canoes available. It was a fantastic experience! My only regret was that we didn't have time to stay longer. We plan on going back up to Northern Michigan soon and this will be the place that we choose to stay at next time.
WOW! AWESOME OWNERS! Horseshoe Lake Campground is a small, very nicely run facility. It is quiet, owners are friendly, and accommodating. Nestled in a wooded area with access to Horseshoe Lake, there is a pontoon, canoe, and small boat available for campers use on the quiet, no wake Lake. Each campsite is given a laser carved wooden sign with the family name on it for them to keep. Water, electricity, and dump are provided at the sites. They also have one camper to rent for those who would like to have a camping experience, but don't have their own unit. Showers are available. It is more of a "family" experience than at the large facilities.
Great campground! Small and cozy. Woodsy between the sites. Owner was so friendly and took us on a lil tour of the campground. Walk to the lake is short and woodsy. John, the owner, makes a plaque for each site with your name. I was so surprised to see that and it's your souvenir. Would recommend absolutely! Great place for a fall colors ride.
Superb campground and owner! Our site was thoughtfully prepared with a personalized welcome sign. The campgrounds boast impeccable cleanliness, generous pull-through sites, and seamless trail access for riders. Full amenities are offered. Rating: 5++++! Town of Fredrick Michigan
Sorry I have to break the 5.0 rating. There were only 30 reviews which is odd for an established park. Arrived at site to find no picnic table or fire ring. Staff never visited to provide instructions. Bathrooms didn’t meet my Wife’s cleanliness standards. Quiet campground. Appears to be mainly seasonals. Not a campground you would drive out of your way for with all the other options in the area.
