Location and Accessibility

Bergeron's On-Bayou Campground is conveniently located at 4876 Zach Rd, Jarreau, LA 70749, USA. Jarreau is a small community in Pointe Coupee Parish, situated in a scenic area of Louisiana, often characterized by its proximity to bayous and rural landscapes. The campground’s location offers a tranquil setting that is still accessible to key areas for work or provisions.

Being on Zach Road, the campground is likely positioned to offer a peaceful environment away from major highway noise, while still being easily reachable. For RVers and those working in the region, accessibility to fuel and supplies is often a critical factor. One customer noted that the on-site gas is a "big boon," saving a "5-10 min drive depending which way you go for the next fuel point." This highlights the practical convenience of its location, especially for those traveling with larger vehicles or needing quick fuel stops.

While Jarreau itself is a small community, the campground's location provides reasonable access to larger towns for more extensive shopping, dining, or specialized services. The region around Jarreau is primarily rural, offering a genuine Louisiana country experience, complete with natural beauty and a slower pace of life. This makes Bergeron's On-Bayou an attractive spot for those who appreciate a less crowded environment, yet still need connectivity to local work sites or amenities within a short drive. Its placement on a bayou also suggests potential for scenic views and possibly direct water access, enhancing the outdoor experience for guests.

Services Offered

Bergeron's On-Bayou Campground focuses on providing practical services that cater to RVers, particularly those on extended stays for work, as well as offering general conveniences for the local community. Based on customer reviews and public information, here are the key services you can expect:

  • Full RV Hookups: The campground offers full electrical (20, 30, and 50 Amps), water, and sewer hookups at its RV sites. This is essential for comfortable living in self-contained RVs. Reviews confirm it is "welcoming if you have a full accommodating RV."
  • On-Site Country Store: A significant convenience is the "on site store" which has "what you need to get a meal done." This means guests can purchase essential groceries, snacks, and other necessities without leaving the property.
  • On-Site Bar & Grill: The campground boasts an on-site "Bar & Grill" that serves "good food." The hamburger, in particular, received rave reviews for being "to DIE for" and tasting "so homemade." This offers a convenient dining option, especially after a long day of work or travel.
  • On-Site Gas Station: A "big boon" according to a customer, the availability of gas directly on-site is a major convenience, saving time and travel to the next fuel point.
  • Laundry Facilities: There is an "on site" laundry point. However, a customer review indicated potential issues with "undersized and under pressured tank for the washers" and "dryers running on the weak side," suggesting that guests should be prepared for potential challenges or bring extra quarters.
  • Cabin/Mobile Home Rental: The campground offers "one 'Cabin', more 'mobile home' then cabin, for rent." This serves as an alternative accommodation for those "working shutdowns" or needing a more permanent structure than an RV.
  • Customer Service: The "people who run the place are friendly and helpful," indicating a focus on good customer service and a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Pet-Friendly: The campground is pet-friendly, welcoming furry companions, though guests are typically asked to keep pets leashed and clean up after them.
  • WiFi and Cable TV: Available information suggests the campground offers Cable TV and "fiber optic enabled WiFi" for connectivity, which is crucial for both leisure and work.

These services highlight Bergeron's On-Bayou Campground as a practical and self-sufficient option for those seeking convenience during their stay in Jarreau, whether short-term or extended.

Features / Highlights

Bergeron's On-Bayou Campground stands out for several distinctive features and highlights that contribute to its appeal, particularly for those seeking a practical yet welcoming stay in rural Louisiana:

  • Full-Service RV Sites: The provision of full hookups (water, sewer, electric) ensures that RVers have all the necessary connections for a comfortable and self-contained stay, catering to both short visits and longer-term work assignments.
  • Work-Related Stay Suitability: The presence of a "cabin/mobile home" for rent and the overall setup make it highly suitable for individuals "working shutdowns" or other temporary assignments in the area, offering a convenient base close to work sites.

The RV park is reasonable and welcoming if you have a full accommodating RV. There is one 'Cabin', more 'mobile home' then cabin, for rent and it serves its purpose for those working shutdowns. The Country Store, Bar & Grill, Customer Service & gas are big plus in my book. The on site store has what you need to get a meal done or just order out via the Bar & Grill. The people who run the place are friendly and helpful. Having gas on site is a big boon, 5-10 min drive depending which way you go for the next fuel point. Could use some other facilities, but my biggest upset is the laundry point on site. Undersized and under pressured tank for the washers, found out from a local that they have use a hose to fill the 1/2 washers that need them. Dryers running on the weak side, took me more then three runs to get my clothes dry and had to run out to get more quarters. Overall it is a nice, decent spot that's close enough to work. Good food and drinks with friendly folks. It checked most of my boxes while staying out here. Would I stay here again yes for work related purposes.

I bet they even have cocktail sauce lol it’s awesome and the campground is great. This is a campground of RVs for people coming to fish or work, but it still set up really nice as a place to eat a place to fish and it’s a nice place even have they even have a bar.

Nice lakeside restaurant. Bar atmosphere inside but they have a covered patio with ample seating and an enclosed porch overlooking the lake. The service was quick and the food was delicious. They have a wide array of drinks, including Daiquiris. I had a ham and cheese sub, which they call a Po'boy. Highly recommend!
