Blue Sky'S Rv Park About

For many Missouri residents, finding a suitable and stable place for their RV, whether for a long-term stay or a peaceful temporary stop, is a key part of their lifestyle. In the scenic southwestern part of our state, Blue Sky's RV Park in Goodman, MO, might be one of the options that appears in your search. Understanding what an RV park provides, its location, and the experiences of those who have stayed there is essential for making an informed decision about where to set up your mobile home.

Missouri offers a diverse range of settings for RV living, from vibrant urban areas to tranquil rural landscapes. Goodman, as a smaller community, offers a more relaxed pace of life. While RV parks generally aim to provide necessary amenities and a comfortable environment for their residents, the specifics can vary significantly from one park to another. This article aims to present publicly available information about Blue Sky's RV Park, drawing on customer feedback to provide Missourians with insights into what they might expect when considering this particular location for their RV needs.

Location and Accessibility

Blue Sky's RV Park is located at 21322 Gateway Dr, Goodman, MO 64843, USA. Goodman is a small town nestled in McDonald County, in the southwestern region of Missouri. This location places the RV park within a relatively rural setting, which often appeals to those seeking a quieter environment away from the hustle and bustle of larger cities.

Access to the RV park typically involves driving on state highways before transitioning to local roads. Gateway Drive, as indicated, provides direct access to the park. For RVers, especially those with larger rigs, having easily navigable roads is important, and smaller towns like Goodman often offer less congested routes compared to major metropolitan areas. While Goodman itself provides basic local services, its proximity to larger towns in the region, such as Neosho and Joplin, means residents have access to a wider array of amenities. These larger centers offer more extensive options for groceries, healthcare services, dining, and retail. This balance of a peaceful, rural location with reasonable access to more comprehensive services can be a significant draw for many RV enthusiasts looking for a long-term or extended stay within Missouri. Understanding this regional connectivity is key for prospective residents or visitors planning their route.

Services Offered

Blue Sky's RV Park, like other RV parks, primarily offers sites for recreational vehicles. The provided customer reviews highlight some key aspects of the services, particularly focusing on long-term residency and site maintenance, while also raising significant concerns about certain infrastructure.

  • RV Site Rental: The core service involves providing individual sites equipped with necessary hookups for RVs. While specific details on amperage (e.g., 30 amp, 50 amp) or water/sewer connections per site are not provided, these are standard expectations for an RV park.

  • Site Upkeep: One positive review mentions that "Christy makes sure that it is always kept up and looking nice," suggesting that general grounds maintenance is a service provided, aiming to maintain a pleasant appearance for the park.

  • Laundry Facilities: The park reportedly has laundry facilities. However, a significant concern was raised that the laundry facility was "closed because of septic system failure," indicating an intermittent or ongoing issue with this amenity.

  • Management Oversight: The park has owners or managers who oversee operations and interact with residents. One review refers to "Christy" as being diligent about upkeep, while another criticizes the owners for attempting to "cover up" sewage issues and allegedly requesting positive reviews from departing guests.

  • Dog Park Area: A "dog park" is mentioned, suggesting an amenity for pet owners within the park. However, this area was also cited as being near where sewage issues were observed.

Critical Note on Sewage System: A highly detailed review explicitly raises severe concerns regarding the park's sewage system. It alleges an "inadequate sewage system for its size," "sewage coming out of the ground," an "illegal sewage system" installed without permits or state-licensed installers, and claims of only "2 500 gal septic tanks and 100 ft of line for each tank flowing into a gravel pit no lick field hooked up." These are very serious allegations about the fundamental infrastructure and regulatory compliance of the park.

Features / Highlights

When considering an RV park, prospective residents or visitors weigh various features and highlights. Based on the provided customer feedback, Blue Sky's RV Park presents a stark contrast in experiences and perceptions of its key attributes.

  • Quiet Environment (for some): One reviewer, who stayed for over two years, highlighted the park as "very quiet." This suggests that for some long-term residents, the park offers a peaceful living environment, which is often a desirable feature for RV living, especially in a rural setting.

  • Maintained Appearance (for some): The same positive review noted that the park is "always kept up and looking nice," implying a focus on aesthetic maintenance and upkeep by management, particularly "Christy." This can contribute to a pleasant living atmosphere.

However, it is crucial to address the significant negative feedback, which points to severe issues that would be major "lowlights" for any prospective resident or visitor:

  • Alleged Illegal and Inadequate Sewage System: This is the most critical and concerning feature highlighted. The detailed allegations of "sewage coming out of the ground," an "illegal sewage system" lacking proper permits and state-licensed installation, and inadequate design (two 500-gallon tanks with limited leach field capacity flowing into a gravel pit) represent a severe environmental and health hazard. This would be a deal-breaker for most, regardless of other positive aspects.

  • Closed Laundry Facilities: The reported closure of the laundry due to "septic system failure" directly impacts a key amenity that many RVers rely on, creating significant inconvenience.

  • Management Transparency and Ethics Concerns: Allegations that owners were trying to "cover up" sewage issues and "ask people to give a good review as people leave" raise serious questions about management's transparency and ethical practices. Such practices erode trust and can lead to a very negative living experience.

  • Lack of Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: The claims that the park was "never permitted" for its sewage system and that county health department and Missouri DNR lack records of essential systems (like a bleach system for water) suggest a systemic failure in regulatory compliance. This exposes residents to potential risks and instability, including the possibility of future legal action or forced closure affecting all residents.

Promotions or Special Offers

The provided customer reviews for Blue Sky's RV Park do not mention any specific promotions or special offers. In the context of RV parks, promotions often include incentives such as discounted rates for extended stays (e.g., weekly, monthly, or annual rates), "first-month free" offers, or perhaps discounts for new residents transferring from another park.

Given the very serious and detailed allegations raised in one of the reviews regarding the park's infrastructure, particularly the sewage system and regulatory compliance, any discussion of "promotions" becomes secondary to addressing these fundamental concerns. For Missouri residents considering this park, it is absolutely essential to prioritize verifying the park's operational legitimacy and safety standards.

If, after thorough investigation and verification of public health and environmental records, you still consider this park, you would then need to contact the park management directly to inquire about current rates, availability, lease terms, and any potential incentives for new residents. However, the information available strongly suggests that due diligence beyond a simple phone call, including checking with local health and environmental authorities, would be prudent before making any commitment. Direct communication via the provided phone number (417) 364-4080 or +1 417-364-4080 would be the initial step for any inquiry.

Address: 21322 Gateway Dr, Goodman, MO 64843, USA

Phone: (417) 364-4080

Mobile Phone: +1 417-364-4080

When contacting the park, it is crucial for prospective residents to prepare a comprehensive list of questions. Given the very serious allegations in public reviews regarding sewage systems, permitting, and regulatory compliance, it would be highly advisable to inquire directly about these matters, and to independently verify any assurances provided by contacting relevant county health departments and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to check on the park's permit status and inspection records. Due diligence is paramount before making any commitment to reside here.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For Missouri residents seeking an RV park, particularly for long-term living, evaluating Blue Sky's RV Park in Goodman requires careful and thorough consideration of all available information. Its location in a smaller, rural community like Goodman might appeal to those seeking a quiet environment away from urban congestion, which is a common desire for many RVers in our state. One long-term resident did praise the park as "very quiet" and well-maintained in terms of appearance, suggesting that for some, it provides a stable and aesthetically pleasing place to live.

However, it is critically important for any Missourian considering this park to be aware of and diligently investigate the severe allegations raised in another public review. These claims, which include "inadequate sewage system," "sewage coming out of the ground," "illegal sewage system" lacking permits and proper installation, and the closure of laundry facilities due to "septic system failure," represent fundamental and potentially hazardous issues. Furthermore, allegations of management attempting to "cover up" these problems and urging positive reviews raise serious concerns about transparency and operational integrity. The claims regarding lack of permitting from state and county authorities are also extremely serious, as they could impact the park's long-term viability and expose residents to health risks or disruptions.

Therefore, while the park might offer a quiet, rural setting for long-term RV living, its suitability for locals is highly conditional. Any Missourian considering Blue Sky's RV Park must conduct extensive independent verification of all alleged issues, particularly with the McDonald County Health Department and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, regarding environmental compliance and permitting. Without such verification, proceeding with residency could carry significant risks regarding health, safety, and the stability of their living situation. For the time being, its suitability is overshadowed by these critical concerns, making thorough due diligence not just recommended, but absolutely essential.

Park has a inadequate sewage system for its size was there for 4th of July celebration on thr 7th of July. Sewage was coming out of the ground by dog park. Owners were trying to cover it up. They had dug up the lines and replaced them without upgrading their system. Laundry is there but closed because of septic system failure. Owner ask people to give a good review as people leave. Owners put in an illegal sewage system, didn't get permits, no state license installer , check country heath department ( " we aren't going to enforce the laws on the park ") has 2 500 gal septic tanks and 100 ft of line foe each tank flowing into a gravel pit no lick field hooked up , not enough room for a legal septic system. Missouri DNR being sued by the EPA for not enforcing the epa laws. This park was never permitted . Took 6 years to update water system and both DNR and county heath department claims not to have any records of the bleach system 🙄.

This is a small family owned place. The owners are wonderful people that keep the place clean and welcome everyone. We live in a school bus and we were welcomed with open arms. We have family in the area but on a return trip we will stay again. The park does have permanent residents in it but everyone is super nice and it's a great place for a overnight stays. Not a lot to do at the park but conveniently located.

I have been here for over 6 months now. The owner she is a very pleasant woman to talk to. Straight to the point kind of woman. The park is well kept. Also there is a laundry room that is very well kept clean. There is a 5 mile an hour speed limit in the park very strict on that. Pets are allowed on a leash. Clean up after the pet. No tolerance on late rent $50 late charge.
