Introduction / Overview
For New York residents seeking a true escape to the serene waters and scenic vineyards of the state's western edge, Blue Water Beach Campground stands out as a genuine "gem." Nestled on the beautiful south shore of Lake Erie in Westfield, NY, this campground offers a unique combination of natural beauty, deep-rooted family history, and a commitment to quality service that has kept campers returning for generations. Unlike some larger, corporate-run facilities, Blue Water Beach maintains a distinctly personal, friendly, and family-oriented atmosphere, a quality that is immediately noticeable upon arrival.
The history of this location speaks volumes; it has been cultivated by the same family for decades, with the current owner having literally grown up on the property, learning the ropes of hospitality and grounds maintenance from childhood. This generational commitment translates into a beautifully maintained and well-managed park where owners live on-site and genuinely care about the camper experience. While it is highly recommended for locals looking for a seasonal or permanent spot to settle in for the summer, the campground also welcomes overnight visitors, including those driving large vehicles like the popular Mercedes Sprinter vans, providing them with incredible, clean, and well-maintained spots right along the Lake Erie shore.
Blue Water Beach Campground’s setting is both peaceful and vibrant. It is known for its gorgeous surroundings, proximity to the lake for incredible views, and a dedicated community of seasonal campers who contribute to the friendly, neighborhood feel. The management is praised for going out of their way to accommodate camper needs, ensuring everyone, from the newest overnight guest to the 20-year resident, feels welcome and cared for.

Family owned, excellent management, beautiful camping. I camped here as a child in the 70s. Affordable pricing. The place has grown so much since I camped there with my family. The owner grew up here spending summers learning the ropes & it was passed down for generations. They go out of their way to accommodate your needs. No sewage hookups but they have a honey dipper that comes around for a nominal fee. Gorgeous surroundings. You can use a golf cart to get around. Family atmosphere with all permanent campers each year. I highly recommend this place for a permanent spot to camp each season. Pass up that KOA just down the road & camp permanently where the owners live there & care! This place has one of the most high tech engineered water systems built by/for the owner(s), so much so that the NY State Parks have visited because they were so impressed by the water system that provides clean fresh water to such a large group of users. I believe they also have their own eco-friendly energy system in place. All in all, this place gives you beauty & a peaceful place to simply sit back & enjoy life.
Aug 28, 2025 · Bev ZWhat a gem of a campground! Danielle greeted us and set the tone for fun. We drive a Mercedes Sprinter and she set us up nicely. We parked it right along the shore of Lake Erie. Incredible views! Highly recommend this wonderful place. Friendly atmosphere and beautiful grounds. Very clean. Met the owner Brian on our way out. Great guy! Also shout out to 20 year residents, Pauline and Duane, for helping us secure some fresh water!!
Jul 12, 2020 · Kristen McClellandLOVE! LOVE! LOVE Blue Water Beach Campground! They are so very accommodating and very friendly! The sites are spacious! We have a beautiful, shady, secluded spot, just perfect for us. We are right on Lake Erie, and with a short walk we can enjoy this beautiful lake whenever we please. The sunsets are gorgeous! We have never fallen in love with an area as we have this area, and when we return we will definitely stay here again!
