Not busy, quiet campground. Has elks and bisons raised in fence. Fun to watch while camping there. Outfitter water activity seems abandoned. The full hookup site (south) is too far from the bathroom/shower (20-minute walk back and forth), which is at the middle campground. The north one is for tent. One push of button only gives 20 seconds of shower water.
Aug 17, 2024 · QL QLPark ranger was nice and showed me where the goats were behind the shed! It was off season, but was a nice little detour on my road trip.
Dec 10, 2024 · Amanda KeatingI loved the bison and elk at this park conveniently located in Hancock!
Apr 18, 2025 · Sally Ortgies (Iowa Park Lady)Great little gem. Bathrooms are clean and new, showers were nice. No reservations but not very busy. One playground in the campground and one not too far away at the park. Archery range there too.. Lots of shade. There are a couple river access points and a canoe put in. Quiet campground, loved it!
Sep 12, 2021 · Georgana DerrIt's a gem! Only day-use for me so far but hope to camp here soon. Meet a friend from NE here a couple times a month for a sanity day...campfire, hotdogs and solving the world's problems. Lots of bird species to watch. As a Wildlife Biologist, I especially enjoy the bison, elk and the easy access to trails and the river. Restrooms are clean and the park is well kept. Rangers are friendly and helpful.
