Customer Reviews
Very nice, clean, & peaceful campground! All the amenities were perfect! The staff was on point & delight! It met all our needs & more! Thank for for a great weekend!
Easy check in. Was able to check in hours early for a small fee. This helped us visit all the family in a one stay. Friendly employees. We'll maintained camp. Nice our visit here last year was also nice. It was nice to see the trees growing soon there will be nice shade
We enjoyed our stay here. It was close to A&M but far enough removed that we didn’t feel over run with traffic. Facilities were clean and staff was super friendly. Pads are all cement. Just make sure you have plenty of leveling blocks available. This will be our goto stay for any event in CStat for sure!
This is one of those reviews I really don't want to place as to why you will find out throughout this review. This is a hidden gem. Only open 2 years, so of course if you want to nit pick you can find flaws. However, having been to almost 20 KOAs with our family this one is definitely well thought out you and has amenities that are hard to find. Having talked with other campers (who are mostly long term off site workers) and reading the reviews I may be able to offer some insight to some negative comments. Does this campground have a "slant": yes. I haven't been to a campground that doesn't have some form of a slant to offset water in the event of a rainstorm. This is campground was built in my opinion with the excessive dry ground and the sometimes extreme rain events that can take place. It all slopes down and runs to the amazing fishing pond in the back. (Our family caught nearly 20 fish in the pond and that was loads of fun. The big deck puts you right out into the best fishing on the pond). Back to the slant. If this is a major issue for you then you need to choose sites 201, 301, and 501. In my opinion these are amazing sites due to their proximity to the activities. Yes there is only one "bath, shower, laundry facility" which is at the front of the campground. Once again if you take one of the previously mentioned sites the distance won't be an issue. Yes you are off a highway. However, for us this wasn't an issue and we didn't hear road noise at night. Are the trees small: yes. It's a brand new campground. Give it 5 years i will regret this post because we won't be able to get a spot. The playset is the biggest one we have seen at a koa yet. The pool once again like no other yet. Plenty big. Has 2 sun shelfs. One is smaller than the other. The big sun shelf even has a awning that goes in the middle. Plenty of chairs around it. My daughters loved the constant water feature and then starting in the afternoon their was 7 sprinklers that would put up around the pool and run for about 15 minutes to add excitement to my girls fun. At night it is lit up with blue lights and when the water feature turns on makes you feel like you are at a high end resort. A crazy hidden amazing feature is off the side of the office building. This is a firepit with the possibility of making outdoor pizzas. It is covered and hidden. It has amazingly comfy chairs. Parents this is the spot for you in the morning for coffee or just a quick getaway for peace and quiet. Oh and to the nay sayers, yes its by the road. The dog park was a decent size and clean. This is the first campground we have been to with "annual/long term/ offsite workers" who truly take care of the campground and have respect for the environment. They all were extremely friendly to talk with and didn't mind my daughters constant cannonballs and loud laughter. I wish they had more workers. Unfortunately they had to close the office on memorial day so we had to go off site for ice and a "snack of ice cream". Once again if this is an inconvenience to you please remember consideration for how hard I watched them work during my stay. They deserved a day off. I believe her name was Debbie, she even did a unplanned impromptu face painting session for my daughters and friends on Sunday. Then proceeded to work her tail off catching up on all the duties she put off to complete this task. Oh and one more first for us was the designated walking paths. We haven't been to a campground that has these and to our surprise other campers actually used them. Kudos to Bryan Koa for this thoughtful feature. A "very few" small concerns/insights. There were no car tags so anyone could be in the park. Also there was no security gate. I do wish there was a code or gate only due to being so close to the highway and having my family. Lastly as much as I regret to say this. If you have a family with dogs choose site 201. This one is the best proximity to everything and even has guest parking right behind you for added guests. We truly enjoyed this campground.
Went above and beyond all expectations when we called after hours on a Thursday night to provide 2 excellent sites at more than reasonable rates when we found ourselves needing sites quickly. Very courteous and professional. Highly recommend. If we find our way back out here in the future we will make sure to stay here.
