Location and Accessibility

Buck Creek RV Park is located at 12445 County Rd 108 N, Abilene, TX 79601, USA. This address places it just east of downtown Abilene, a major city and regional hub in Central Texas. The park's proximity to Interstate 20 (I-20), a significant east-west corridor, makes it highly accessible for travelers traversing the state. Reviews highlight its "easy access" and being "far enough from the interstate that the road noise was minimal," suggesting a good balance between convenience and a quiet environment.

For Texans, Abilene is a well-known city with a full range of services and attractions. Being about "8 miles east of downtown Abilene," the park offers a convenient base to explore the city without being directly in its hustle and bustle. You'll find quick access to grocery stores, gas stations, a variety of restaurants, and other essential facilities within a short drive. Nearby attractions include the Abilene Zoo, Frontier Texas! museum, and numerous local parks.

Accessing the park from I-20 is straightforward, typically via Exit 294 (Buck Creek Rd), followed by a short drive on County Road 108 N. This ease of entry and exit is a significant advantage for RVers, especially those with larger rigs, allowing for seamless travel. While one review mentioned potholes on the internal roads, the overall sentiment regarding location emphasizes its convenience for both overnight stays and longer-term residents needing access to Abilene's amenities. This makes Buck Creek RV Park a practical choice for a diverse range of RV travelers.

Promotions or Special Offers

Buck Creek RV Park, like many smaller, independently-owned RV parks, tends to offer consistent, competitive pricing rather than extensive, publicly advertised promotions. However, their rates are often structured to provide value, especially for longer stays. Based on available public information:

  • Monthly Stays: The park primarily focuses on monthly rentals, making it suitable for travel nurses, contractors, digital nomads, and snowbirds. A current special for monthly stays is listed at approximately $495/month (electricity not included), with a $150 last month electric charge due upon booking. Monthly stays may require an application and background check.
  • Nightly/Weekly Availability: While the primary focus seems to be on monthly rentals, some reviews indicate that nightly and weekly stays are sometimes available, particularly for a limited number of "overflow" sites. However, recent information suggests they are "Currently not booking nightly or weeklys," so direct confirmation is essential. Past nightly rates were around $40-$42 USD.
  • Affordable Pricing: Reviewers frequently mention "very reasonable rates" and that it's a "cheap place to stay" compared to other options in the area, indicating strong value.
  • Good Sam Discount: One older review mentioned a 10% Good Sam discount, but this should be verified directly with the park as affiliations can change.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on current rates, site availability (especially for nightly or weekly stays), and any potential long-term stay incentives, it is highly recommended to contact Buck Creek RV Park directly at (325) 335-0225.

For Texans, whether you're a full-time RVer, a contractor on assignment, or simply seeking an affordable and convenient base near Abilene, Buck Creek RV Park offers several compelling reasons for a stay. While some recent reviews highlight areas for improvement, the core strengths of the park remain highly appealing to local users.

Firstly, the "large pull thru level sites" with ample "front and back yard" space are a significant draw. Spots are large with front and back yard. Laundry room is absolutely trash. The grass is never cut. Always having water issues. The road has so many potholes you drive a zig zag. It is a promising park but it is quickly going down hill and yet they continued to raise rent without any upgrades. Trash is always overflowing.

Here for work at the data center north west of Abilene. Owners were friendly and helpful at booking and sites are long and easily accessible, quick on/off to the interstate. Walmart, coffee shops, shopping and church is just a 12-15 minute drive. $100 cheaper than where we previously searched and same distance to the job site. Kind of a country feel and no loud noise like jets or trains which is a big plus! Very peaceful place thus far.

No frills, no pool, and no bath house, but the sites are level, long and pull-through; the utilities work fine; and it was clean and pretty quiet. We didn't see a camp host or staff. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the website said it had a pool and bath house. It had neither. Nice place to spend the night, but I probably wouldn't stay much longer.

If you're looking for quiet and roomy, look no further. Many sites have enough trees for nice shade in the summer heat, and all sites are HUGE. A very nice young couple own & operate the park and live on-site. They're clearly building a future, so I would expect even better things to come. I won't need to shop around for future stays in the Abilene area.
