Services Offered

CAB Campground is designed to provide a comfortable and self-sufficient camping experience, focusing on essential amenities that ensure a peaceful stay without unnecessary frills. The services offered cater specifically to those seeking convenience and tranquility in a rural setting.

  • Full Hookup Sites: A primary feature of CAB Campground is that all 6 of its available sites are equipped with full hookups. This means each site provides connections for electricity, water, and sewer. This is a significant convenience, especially for RV campers, as it eliminates the need to frequently move their rig for dumping and ensures a constant supply of fresh water and power, enhancing the comfort of a long-term or short-term stay.
  • New Picnic Tables: Each campsite comes with a brand-new picnic table. These tables provide a dedicated, clean, and stable surface for outdoor dining, meal preparation, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee amidst nature.
  • New Fire Rings: Essential for the quintessential camping experience, every site is equipped with a new fire ring. These safe and designated areas allow campers to build campfires for warmth, ambiance, and cooking, perfect for enjoying evenings under the Iowa sky.
  • Secluded and Spacious Sites: While not a direct "service," the very nature of having only 6 spots ensures that each site offers ample space and a sense of seclusion. This provides a private and uncrowded environment, a key element for those seeking peace and quiet.
  • Friendly and Accommodating Owners: Customer reviews consistently highlight the kindness and helpfulness of the owners. While not a tangible service, friendly and approachable management significantly contributes to a positive camping experience, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

The focus of CAB Campground's services is clearly on providing high-quality, fundamental amenities in a low-density setting, allowing campers to fully immerse themselves in the tranquility of their surroundings without worrying about basic utility needs.

Features / Highlights

CAB Campground distinguishes itself through several key features and highlights that cater specifically to campers desiring a quiet, comfortable, and authentic rural Iowa experience. These attributes underscore its unique appeal.

  • Intimate, Low-Density Setting: Perhaps the most significant highlight is the campground's small size, offering only 6 exclusive sites. This limited capacity ensures an uncrowded environment, providing maximum privacy and a truly peaceful atmosphere, a rare find in many campgrounds. Guests consistently praise this aspect, noting the absence of "cramped conditions."
  • Full Hookup Convenience at Every Site: All six sites are equipped with full hookups (electric, water, and sewer). This premium amenity provides ultimate convenience for RVers, allowing for extended stays without the hassle of moving for services. It significantly enhances comfort, enabling campers to enjoy all the functionalities of their RVs.
  • Brand New Site Amenities: The inclusion of "new picnic tables and fire rings" at each site adds a touch of freshness and comfort. These modern, well-maintained amenities elevate the camping experience, ensuring clean and functional spaces for outdoor living and traditional campfire enjoyment.
  • Secluded Country Location: Situated deep in the Iowa countryside, the campground offers a genuine escape from noise and light pollution. Campers can enjoy the serene sounds of nature, clear night skies perfect for stargazing, and fresh country air. This secluded "spot in the country" is ideal for those genuinely seeking tranquility.
  • Picturesque Iowa Rolling Hills: The natural landscape surrounding the campground is a major draw. Guests specifically mention the "pretty view of the Iowa rolling hills," providing a beautiful backdrop for relaxation and enjoyment of the peaceful rural scenery that defines much of the state.
  • Ideal for Peace and Quiet: Unlike campgrounds that are activity-driven, CAB Campground's core highlight is its dedication to peace and quiet. It's the perfect antidote to busy daily lives, providing an environment where relaxation and contemplation are the primary activities. This focus makes it highly appealing to a niche of campers who prioritize solitude.
  • Friendly and Welcoming Ownership: Repeatedly highlighted in reviews, the "really nice" owners contribute significantly to the positive experience. Their hospitality fosters a warm and inviting atmosphere, making guests feel truly welcome and cared for during their stay.

These distinct features collectively make CAB Campground a standout choice for those who value serenity, comfort, and a genuine connection with the tranquil beauty of rural Iowa.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a small, privately-owned campground that emphasizes peace and quiet, CAB Campground focuses on providing excellent value through its core offerings rather than frequent, complex promotional campaigns. Its primary "special offer" is the unique experience it provides: a secluded, full-hookup site in the Iowa countryside at a competitive price.

  • Competitive and Transparent Pricing: While specific rates are not publicly detailed, reviews indicate that "the price is right." This suggests that CAB Campground offers affordable rates for its full-hookup sites, providing excellent value for campers seeking a comfortable and quiet rural escape. Their pricing strategy likely reflects their commitment to offering a peaceful experience without overcharging for unnecessary amenities.
  • Value of Full Hookups: The provision of full hookups (electric, water, sewer) at all 6 sites is a significant value proposition. For RV campers, this convenience can often come at a premium at larger campgrounds. At CAB Campground, it's a standard offering, meaning guests don't need to pay extra for essential utilities or worry about frequent trips to a dump station.
  • Long-Term Stay Suitability: The campground's serene environment and full hookup availability make it highly suitable for extended stays, as evidenced by a multi-month guest review. While not explicitly stated as a "promotion," this suitability often translates into more economical weekly or monthly rates compared to daily pricing, offering a de facto discount for those looking for a longer retreat. It is always recommended to inquire directly about any extended stay pricing options.
  • Personalized Service: The small size of the campground and the reported friendliness of the owners often lead to a more personalized and attentive service than what might be found at larger, more commercial operations. While intangible, this level of care enhances the overall value of the stay.

For the most accurate and current information on rates, availability, and any specific booking policies, it is always best to directly contact CAB Campground using the provided phone number. They will be able to provide details tailored to your specific needs for a truly peaceful Iowa camping experience.

I just checked out of CAB a week ago after a couple month stay. It’s a nice secluded little spot in the country! The price is right, the owners are really nice and there’s only 6 spots! All full hookups with new picnic tables and fire rings. If you’re looking for activities and lots of things to do, this isn’t the place for you, if you want peace and quiet in the country, CAB is perfect.

We had a great stay at Amy's place. It was great to have full hookups and get away from the cramped conditions of the normal road stop campgrounds. Pretty view of the Iowa rolling hills.

Absolutely fantastic. A little trouble for myself at first but Amy and Chris helped me out tremendously to get setup. Very flexible with me on checkin/checkout. I was able to get my Starlink working and the hookups were great. They left wood for a fire if I wanted one and there is a picnic table and fire pit. Garbage is kept away from the camp area so no raccoons. It’s peaceful, quiet, and clean and about 30 minutes for the nearest midsize town, but 15 minutes from my family so that was perfect. There was a thunderstorm one of the mornings I was there and Chris even came up to check on me and make sure I was okay as I’m a woman traveling alone. That means so much. Landscape is beautiful and the fireflies at twilight are gorgeous. Great pricing and great value!

Chris and Amy were so kind and helpful. They worked with our stay and brought us firewood for the pit. Massena is a quiet place and I would recommend camping here.
