Introduction / Overview
For many Massachusetts RV enthusiasts and travelers passing through the Bay State, finding a safe, convenient, and quiet spot for a single night's rest can be a challenge, especially during busy travel seasons. This is where the service offered by Cabela's RV Parking in Berlin, MA, becomes an invaluable resource. This is not a traditional full-service RV park, but rather a dedicated, complimentary overnight dry camping area provided by the renowned outdoor retailer for its traveling customers.
The reviews speak volumes about the utility of this location, describing it as a "life saver" for travelers who find themselves overbooked or without a reservation during peak times like the Fourth of July week. The atmosphere is consistently described as quiet, respectful, and chill, ensuring a good night's sleep. Cabela’s, recognizing the needs of the outdoor community, has designated specific parking spots designed to accommodate everything from a large fifth-wheel rig to a modest self-made camper. The parking area is well-maintained and provides a level of security and accessibility that is hard to find in a free, overnight spot near a major interstate like I-495. This spot embodies the principle of mutual respect: the store offers a complimentary service, and in return, RVers are encouraged to patronize the business. It’s a highly recommended, convenient solution for short-term, self-contained overnight parking in the Central Massachusetts region.
Location and Accessibility
The Cabela's RV Parking area is situated at the retailer’s location within the sprawling
Shops at Highland Commons
, one of Central Massachusetts' premier open-air shopping destinations. The exact address is38 Highland Cmns E, Berlin, MA 01503, USA
.Accessibility is one of the location’s strongest selling points for Massachusetts residents traveling across the state or heading into New England. Highland Commons is ideally located directly off Route 62 and is extremely close to the Interstate 495 corridor (I-495), often referred to as Greater Boston’s Northwest Quadrant. This strategic placement makes it incredibly easy for travelers, even those with large RVs, to pull in, rest, and quickly return to the highway the next morning. Furthermore, the parking lot features dedicated, oversized RV/truck spots, typically located to the side of the building, which are well-lit and easily identifiable. While the lot may have a mild slope, the designated parking areas are generally level enough for a comfortable night’s stay. The immediate proximity to the retail center means that travelers have instant pedestrian access to restaurants, a massive supermarket for groceries, and various retail stores, making it a fully self-sufficient stopover.

Our campground overbooked 4th of July week. We couldn't find any place with a spot available. CABELA'S rv parking was a life saver. We were able to stay two nights while we found something else. Already a customer of Cabela's, now I'll go out of my way to utilize the store. There are places within walking distance to eat in the parking lot.
Jul 02, 2025 · Jory Dannergreat overnight!!! parked for 1 night even though the incredibly friendly staff gave me 2 day pass. there were 3 5th wheel rigs, a semi truck,a class c and a cool obviously self made camper on a honda pickup truck. and plenty of room left over for any late comers, which there were a few in the morning, very clean and well maintained space. everyone were very respectful and chill. by 1030 the place was silent. plenty of restaurants a walk away, and a massive super market if you need groceries, this place has everything you could need....HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.
Jul 19, 2025 · kevinrocksThe managers had no issue about me staying overnight. Police patrolled around 9-10pm and did not bother anyone. Well lit, 5 minutes from a gas station, and there is a water bottle filling station plus bathrooms inside Cabela's. So thankful for Cabela's during my trip in MA!
