For many New York families, the Catskill Mountains region is synonymous with summer tradition, outdoor retreats, and a specialized selection of youth camps that offer enriching experiences far from the city heat.
Located in picturesque Sullivan County, the camp is praised by its patrons for providing a supportive, scenic environment that encourages personal development, fosters strong community bonds, and offers a fun-filled schedule of activities. The camp’s mission appears to be centered around a comprehensive program that blends outdoor enjoyment with educational and values-based content, creating a memorable experience for its campers. Reports from happy parents and campers highlight the quality of the program, the good food, and a very good, dedicated staff. For families seeking a high-quality, program-focused summer experience for their children in the tranquility of the Catskills, Camp Adas Bnos Vien is a recognized option.
However, as a highly active seasonal facility situated within a local residential community, the camp’s growth and operations have generated noticeable discussion among local year-round Monticello residents. This article aims to provide a balanced and factual overview of the camp’s offerings, while also acknowledging its established role and current impact on the local New York community.
Camp Adas Bnos Vien is strategically nestled in the scenic terrain of Monticello, a key town in Sullivan County, New York, known for its history as a major Catskills destination. The camp’s address is
Monticello's location is highly accessible for New York families, typically being around a two-hour drive northwest of New York City, which is manageable for both drop-off/pick-up and weekend visits. The area is served by major regional roads, connecting it easily to the rest of the Hudson Valley and beyond. Despite being deep within the natural landscape, the Monticello area provides essential amenities. The camp is conveniently located near local restaurants and shops, making it easy for staff and visiting families to access necessary services and explore the vibrant community during operational hours.
The setting itself is a major draw, offering a "serene and supportive environment" and "scenic surroundings" that are conducive to outdoor activities like hiking and nature exploration. The proximity to natural attractions like the Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River, Highland Lakes State Park, and Minnewaska State Park Preserve provides abundant opportunities for the camp’s outdoor curriculum. However, as noted by local residents, the camp’s accessibility also means it is located among year-round homes, necessitating careful operation to ensure harmonious coexistence with its neighbors.
As a private, specialized summer camp, Camp Adas Bnos Vien's "services" are primarily centered around its comprehensive programming and essential living arrangements for campers. These services include:
The highlights of Camp Adas Bnos Vien are derived from both its physical assets and the positive feedback from its patrons:

Camp Adas Bnos Vien is a highly suitable choice for New York families who are specifically seeking a structured, enriching, and program-driven summer camp experience for their daughters. Its location in Monticello makes it a manageable destination for a summer away, providing a crucial opportunity for children to escape the summer heat of the downstate area and immerse themselves in the fresh air and natural beauty of the Catskills. The positive feedback concerning the staff, facilities, and the program's ability to be both meaningful and fun are strong indicators of its success in delivering a high-quality summer product.
However, as a local user reviewing this location, it is essential to consider the full picture. The suitability of the camp must also be balanced against its community impact. As a major seasonal operation, the camp has attracted criticism from some year-round residents regarding issues like excessive noise (sometimes late into the night/early morning), the use of a loud PA system, concerns over local road safety due to bus speed, and inconsiderate parking practices. These concerns highlight the need for all large seasonal facilities to operate with full awareness and consideration for the established local population.
For New York parents prioritizing a fun, structured, and specialized program for their children, the camp’s features are highly appealing. For Monticello locals, the camp is an integral part of the seasonal economic and social landscape of Sullivan County, yet its continued operation requires respectful engagement with its neighbors. Ultimately, for those choosing to enroll a camper, it offers a beloved Catskills tradition of a supportive and memorable summer.

Very nice grounds, great program, good food. Very good staff. This place one of the nicest camps in the Catskills with a meaningful and fun program.
Jul 23, 2025 · Avrohom SeidenfeldUpdate: as a LOCAL, this place still continues to be inconsiderate! They created a fire to burn down there previous camp which is super dangerous for everyone around them. They built a massive new building, and now they're 10xs louder at random days and times! They have an obnoxious PA system, you hears kids screaming and stopping all night long (seriously, sometimes till 4am!), they drive super fast down the local roads, and they even have the audacity to PARK ON OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY! We had to tell a gentleman to remove his car from our neighbors' lot! This place needs some regulations, this is nor fair to the people that live in the area! Loud, inconsiderate, and obnoxious camp, no consideration for the people that LIVE RIGHT NEXT TO IT. Loud at all hours of the day! Bus races down the streets to get to the camp, making it hazardous for locals. Litter all over the outside of the property, makes the beautiful woods its located in look like a mess...
