Camp Seven Lake Campground is a highly-rated camping destination renowned for its serene atmosphere and well-kept facilities. Unlike some campgrounds where sites are packed closely together, Camp Seven Lake offers a refreshing sense of space and privacy. Campers can expect generous separation between sites, with many backing up to natural woods and bushes, rather than directly facing a neighbor. This thoughtful layout contributes significantly to the overall sense of tranquility and allows for a more immersive natural experience. While no campsites are directly "on the lake," a wonderful paved trail runs along the lakeside, offering beautiful views and easy access to the water. This trail provides an excellent opportunity for leisurely strolls, bike rides, or walking your dog, creating a perfect loop for exploration. The campground prides itself on its cleanliness, with bathrooms that are regularly stocked and maintained daily, and friendly, polite hosts who are always approachable, particularly for younger campers.
Camp Seven Lake Campground is conveniently located at 15706 33 Rd, Manistique, MI 49854, USA, within the sprawling Hiawatha National Forest. This prime location in Michigan's Upper Peninsula makes it a relatively accessible destination for residents across the state, offering a gateway to the region's renowned natural beauty. The campground is reachable via well-established roads, though it's important to note that the internal camp road might be in need of repair in some sections, as noted by past visitors. Really nice, quiet campground. Lots of space between rows, so you back up to woods and bushes rather than your neighbor. No campsites are "on the lake" - there is a great paved trail along the lake side, which is on a small bushy rise overlooking the water. We were in campsite 31, which was across the camp road from the path and the lake. It was nice being able to take the dog and walk that trail from the boat launch at the north edge down the the sand beach at the south edge, and then back along the road to the campsites to keep the walk as a loop. If you are camping, the "back" loop of sites away from the lake has some nice sized sites but also has the only dumpsters for the campground there across from site 35. There were also more bugs in that area as it's closer to some marsh. The Van Winkle trail starts at the south edge of the campground, by the small beach, and continues to the next lake to the west, for about a 1.25 mile hike one way. Hike itself is out and back. The beach itself is not large, but is nice and sandy, and there is a bit of playground equipment there as well. We did see a couple of whitetail deer and a number of squirrels. But they were mostly away from the campsites. All in all, I really liked this campground for a "peace and quiet" experience. Not a "fish camp" at all. I would go back for sure, and would probably look at the same section of sites again (27-31). One note: Google seems to think it's a hotel, lots of weird questions about the service and room type. So keep that in mind if weird star ratings are showing. *shrug*
Sep 15, 2024 · Jack GlazkoCampgrounds and bathrooms were clean and stocked daily. The sites are spacious. The hosts were polite and friendly. The grand kids could talk to them anytime they went by. The kids can go anywhere in the campgrounds by bike or walking. Swimming area is good with nice sandy area. The camp road needs repair desperately. We will definitely be back.
Aug 19, 2023 · Gail WoodBest campground ever! The campground has a lake thats so clean its great for swimming and fishing. Camp sites are huge and spaced out. The hosts of the campground were even better! For the first time I saw camp hosts that take pride in their work. They cleaned the bathrooms every single day. Cleanest volt toilets iv ever been in. They didn't stink at all so i could actually breath in them. They drive through often picking up trash and making sure everything is okay. Super friendly and just all together amazing. Love this place!
Aug 15, 2022 · Morgan CastroMy husband and I just spent a wonderful week at Camp Seven, it was so peaceful, sites are large, clean and quiet. Easy to pull into and park. We reserved one with electric. We haven’t camped there in many years and really enjoyed it. Very grown up since 1979, but still as nice. Loved it!
