Awesome campground, really don’t understand some of the negative reviews. Everyone was super nice and helpful, especially when checking in and backing into our site. Store is very well stocked with everything you could need, from last minute food items to camping supplies and parts. Yes, there is noise at times from a nearby highway, but never enough to bother us or even interfere with sleep - we had a great 3 nights sleep here! Bathrooms were clean and functional, and hookups and connections in great shape. We’ll definitely be back.
May 04, 2025 · Cape Fear BoaterWhen we arrived, the park was fairly empty. We asked the clerk for a shaded site. The clerk said yes your site has shade. However it was in direct sunlight. The wifi is a nightmare. Not user friendly at all. Then the host that took us to our site felt the need to go over all the park rules people tend to brake. Got the lecture about the 5 mph rule and how we would be kicked out if we speed. After getting set up. He was quick to zip over on his cart to let us know dog pins are not allowed in park. A little later we left to get a bite to eat to come back to him following us to our site because we didn't have our parking tag displayed. It was very noisy at night due to the freeway that runs next to the park. Hard to sleep.
Jun 05, 2025 · Wendy CanfieldI was apprehensive about staying after seeing some of the negative reviews. My wife nor myself never experienced any of the negative things mentioned. Our son was graduating from near by Shanendoa University and we wanted something close to campus. The pull from south east Tennessee was easy. The campground is meticulously kept and staff was super friendly. I really liked the assistance getting backed in, which is the part I hate because my wife and I do not speak the same language while I'm parking the camper and usually end up in a argument 🙃. All in all a great weekend and will stay again if our travels take us back that way.
May 26, 2025 · Timothy RussellIn my honest opinion a lot of these negative reviews are from people that don’t know what it takes to run a tight ship. Every review I read, good or bad, talked about the cleanliness of the campground and how well kept it was. It’s not just the grounds, they have a system set in place to avoid mishaps that probably happened in the past. They want you to back-in perfectly with your camper, and will personally guide you in, so that it doesn’t look like a disheveled mess. I own my own business and I run a tight ship, this is what it takes. We extended our stay. We consider ourselves nice and empathetic people, and we didn’t get a single hint of rudeness or inhospitality. Amy at the front desk was as nice as can be and Scott, the guy driving around in the golf cart is super nice and willing to engage in conversation. This campground is an absolute unit of a campground. Don’t pass up on this place because of the reviews, see for yourselves. If you have an issue here, maybe look inwards instead of outwards.
May 07, 2025 · Clayton PhillipsCandy Hill is a family owned campground which is important to us. The campground is beautiful, immaculately kept. The owners and staff take great pride in their grounds and taking care of their guests. The Trolley ride for ice cream is sooo much fun! The campground’s location is close to Old Town Winchester and approximately 40 minutes from Harper’s Ferry. We look forward to our annual trip.
