Cedar Cove Campground is known for its quiet and relaxed ambiance, a quality highly valued by its visitors. It's a place where the sounds of nature often prevail, providing a genuine escape for those looking to unwind. However, it's also a campground with specific policies, particularly regarding the age of campers, which prospective guests should be aware of. Despite these specific guidelines, the park generally aims to provide a welcoming and manageable environment for its residents. We will delve into its location, the services typically offered, its key features, and why it might be the ideal spot for your camping needs in the New River Valley.

Cedar Cove Campground boasts a location that offers both a sense of peaceful seclusion and reasonable accessibility. Situated on State Park Road in Dublin, Virginia, the campground is set in an area that allows for a quiet camping experience while still being connected to local conveniences. Being on State Park Road suggests proximity to natural attractions and recreational opportunities, such as the renowned Claytor Lake State Park, which is often found along such routes.

While it may not be directly off a major interstate like some larger campgrounds, its location in Dublin means that essential services are within reach. Campers can typically find grocery stores, gas stations, and local eateries a short drive away in Dublin. For those looking to explore the wider New River Valley region, towns like Radford, Pulaski, and Blacksburg are accessible, offering additional amenities, cultural sites, and educational institutions. The address provides a good balance, allowing for a quiet setting at the campground while ensuring that the necessities and opportunities for exploration are not too far removed. The specific setting on State Park Road further hints at a more natural, scenic approach to the campground, appealing to those who appreciate a less urbanized backdrop for their outdoor stays.

Cedar Cove Campground primarily offers services tailored to RV and camper stays, focusing on providing essential hookups and a comfortable environment. Based on the nature of such a park and available information, the following services are typically provided:

  • RV and Camper Sites: The core service includes providing individual sites equipped for recreational vehicles. While details on specific amperage (30/50 amp) or hookup types (full hookups with water, sewer, and electric) should be confirmed directly, these are standard offerings.
  • Utility Connections: Each site is generally equipped with the necessary connections for water and electricity. Residents are typically responsible for their utility consumption, often with a deposit required for monthly stays.
  • Monthly and Seasonal Rentals: The campground offers options for longer-term stays, including monthly rentals. This caters to individuals or families seeking more permanent or extended camping solutions, potentially for work or seasonal enjoyment in the area.
  • Quiet Environment Management: While not a physical service, the commitment to maintaining a "nice and quiet" atmosphere is a key feature and a service to its residents, ensuring a peaceful experience for all.
  • On-site Presence of Management: The mention of "Stuart" and the ability to get ahold of him (though sometimes challenging) suggests an on-site or readily available management presence to assist with park operations and resident needs.
  • Basic Park Maintenance: The park management is responsible for the general upkeep of common areas and infrastructure, such as internal roads.
  • Affordable Rent: A review highlights "cheaper rent" ($250+utilities), indicating that the park aims to be an affordable option for campers, which is a valuable service in itself.

Cedar Cove Campground possesses several distinct features and highlights that shape the experience for its visitors. These points of interest are often what draw campers to this particular spot in Dublin, VA:

  • Nice and Quiet Atmosphere: This is consistently highlighted by visitors as a primary benefit. Cedar Cove offers a peaceful retreat, ideal for those looking to escape noise and enjoy a more serene camping experience. This quiet environment is a significant draw for many.
  • Affordable Rent: The campground is noted for offering "cheaper rent," making it an attractive option for campers seeking economical long-term or seasonal stays. The quoted rate of "$250 + utilities" suggests good value for a stable place to park a camper.
  • Established and Older Park: Being an "older park" implies a certain level of maturity and stability in its operations. While some may prefer newer facilities, an older park often means established residents and a more settled community feel. It also suggests that many existing campers have older units.
  • Presence of Older Campers: A notable feature is that there are "MOSTLY older campers there." This characteristic suggests a community of long-term residents and a more lived-in, potentially less transient, atmosphere.
  • Friendly Management (Stuart): Despite being "hard to get ahold of" at times, the owner, "Stuart," is described as a "nice gentleman." This personal touch from management can greatly enhance the camping experience.
  • Location on State Park Road: While not specified, being on "State Park Road" often implies proximity to natural attractions, hiking trails, or water access, enhancing recreational opportunities for campers.

It is important to note a specific policy highlighted in a review: the park does not accept campers older than 25 years. This is a crucial detail for prospective visitors to be aware of before planning a stay.

Currently, specific public promotions or special offers for Cedar Cove Campground are not widely advertised. Given that it is described as an "older park" with "cheaper rent," its pricing strategy may already be built around providing an affordable base rate rather than offering frequent, dynamic promotions.

However, it is always advisable for prospective campers to contact Cedar Cove Campground directly to inquire about any current availability, seasonal rates, or potential discounts that may be available. When you call, consider asking about:

  • Long-term stay discounts: If you are looking for an extended stay, there might be specific weekly or monthly rates that offer better value.
  • Availability of sites: Especially given the park's specific camper age policy, confirming site availability for your unit is crucial.
  • Any off-season rates: Pricing might vary depending on the time of year.

Direct communication with the campground management via phone will provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding pricing and any potential offers. This is the best way to understand if the park's offerings align with your needs and budget.

Older park, cheaper rent($250+utilities), was actually excited to move there for a few months till it warms up but was told after an all day conversation he doesn't take campers older than 25 years... We live in ours, he knew this and would not have "left" it. There is MOSTLY older campers there. Other than that and being hard to get ahold of, Stuart was a nice gentleman.

It's quite and well kept. We are at the top of the horseshoe and walking down the 3 roads is a bit treacherous because of the rain washing out the gravel and leaving very large rocks exposed. Some sites are unkept but the owner has stepped in and tidyed up very nicely. It would be nice to have a fenced in 🐕 area. Overall, very cared for campground.
