It's a place where you can truly relax in quiet surroundings, with plenty of natural beauty to enjoy. Cherokee Campground & RV Park is conveniently located at 2800 Co Rd 93, Helena, AL 35080, USA. Helena is a charming city in Shelby County, just southwest of Birmingham. This prime location makes the campground highly accessible for residents across Alabama, particularly those in the greater Birmingham metropolitan area, as well as those traveling through the state.
While some reviews note that reaching the park involves a few miles on two-lane roads off I-65, the journey is generally manageable. The "heavily treed" nature of the park means that while it feels secluded and natural, it remains within easy reach of urban conveniences in Helena, Hoover, and Pelham, including grocery stores and restaurants. Visitors with taller rigs should be mindful of some potentially low overhead wires when pulling in, as noted by a previous guest. However, the ample gravel parking areas are designed to accommodate large RVs and trailers, ensuring a smooth arrival. The combination of peaceful woodland setting and proximity to necessary services makes Cherokee Campground & RV Park an ideal and practical choice for both short and extended stays for Alabamians.

Beautiful location. We stay here every year for a few nights. Site is not as level as we’d prefer but workable. Not a fan of the policy of passing on to the customer a small fee they are charged by their software provider despite paying cash for our stay. Passing on “back-office” fees to the customer seems to be the trend in business today but as an old school guy, I’m not a fan. Not singling out Cherokee here just including them in the clan.
Dec 19, 2024 · Dave MorrisCan't speak to the amenities as we just stopped overnight, but the park is heavily treed and the owner was friendly & helpful. The rate was very reasonable; particularly to veterans. The gravelled parking was ample for our 35' mh & 12' trailer. Some of the overhead wires are pretty low so if you're over 13' height you might want to be careful when pulling in.
Dec 10, 2024 · MartieThe people here are very friendly. It is a nice quiet place to stay and has a big private pond. We only stayed for a night but nice short stay. Wouldn't say it is a place for familys to get out and have fun since it is limited. But for short stop family or long term adult its great.
Jun 11, 2021 · Timothy H.Cozy, quite campground with a nice big pond to enjoy, just needs some WiFi and a swimming pool and this would get 5 stars
Jun 15, 2024 · Michael FieldingI'd give the owners 5 stars. Sites a little close, easy in and out. We were just there one night while traveling. Quiet
