We stayed at this campground for two nights while passing through the area so we could see some old college friends. We were greeted by a lovely young woman who explained where our site was and went over some of the rules. I have to say that the way the RV gps took me was surprising, as the hills were extremely steep. Our 31 foot gas class A towing a Jeep barely made it up the one 11% grade! I had my foot to the floor, the transmission in tow mode, and watched the speedometer going down slowly as I prayed we made it to the level spot ahead. Of course, that isn't the campgrounds fault, but I wanted to give others a heads up to find an alternative route. We took a different way out (as explained by our greeter). The facility was clean, scenic, and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Sep 21, 2025 · Vic SpinelliExceptional Campground & Even Better People! Colton Lake Resorts is a true gem in western New York! The campground is beautifully maintained, with peaceful surroundings and plenty of options for both short stays and longer visits. The other campers were super friendly, and the staff was absolutely outstanding. Our experience was a bit unusual—we broke down before even arriving. We called the campground, and without hesitation, they sent someone out to tow our camper, got us set up for the night, and helped us find a safe place to store our camper for the month while our car was being repaired. Their kindness and support meant the world to us. Also, shoutout to their adorable dog Cotton—he’s the sweetest and we think he should be the official mascot! 🐶 We’re so grateful for the amazing hospitality and can’t wait to come back for a longer, stress-free stay. Highly recommend!
Jun 03, 2025 · Lynne AnguloCalled to take a tour as my family and I heard great things. Was told by a female owner we have nothing available for seasonal. I kindly said I was calling for a tour as we are interested even if on a wait list. She said we are closed, I once again asked to schedule a tour and was told No we dont do that. Well I said fine I will take my business else where and write a review She slammed the phone down. Not great for business. And after reading other reviews here these new owners are rude. And only play nice online for thanking people for nice reviews
Jul 27, 2025 · Donald BrennerWell, unfortunately the new owners have made this a place we will never go to again. My wife and I have been going to this campground for several years. The owners previous to these were great, no issues, very friendly. We met the new owners at the RV show at the hamburg fairgrounds. They seemed sketchy but we booked with them for last summer. Our experience that weekend was sub par. My wife likes the campground so we booked again for this summer. When we arrived, we were forced to take a site that we didn't book, and before we made reservations, called and were confirmed with the female owner we would not have to be in one of the back in sites. The site we were promised and was on our reservation was given to someone else. We were offered a couple other sites that were too small for our class A. So we were rejected for a refund. We will never patronize this campground again. Also, they charge for wifi and there is no data internet service to use for some reason.
Jun 27, 2025 · Jeff SlawinowskiColden Lake Resort is situated in a beautiful and often overlooked part of the country. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Water pressure was decent, and they have wi-fi. The only thing I wish were better is the narrowness of the sites. It’s tight.
